Stopped in here for the first time today.
The guy seemed a little rushed, but he gave me my shipping options, and gave me the low cost option quickly. He even typed in the destination address, and printed out the label and receipt with tracking number.
I was out of there in less than 5 minutes!

I was shipping my passport renewal and told them that I needed it there as soon as possible with tracking info. They charged me $ 18 and then held onto the package for an entire WEEK. I went in multiple times only to be lied to and told it would ‘definitely’ go out that day.
After seven days, they did manage to ship it, and when I asked for a refund, they refused, and the owner claimed he’s not responsible for shipping items the day you come in and pay for them.
Go **ANYWHERE ELSE** in New York. This is the worst experience of any retailer I’ve ever had. I’ve never tried to get a refund before — or even send food back when it was wrong — but the arrogance and complete inability to do their job is unlike anything I’ve ever seen.
Horrible people, horrible place.

This place tried to overcharge me by 10 dollars to ship a small envelop to Australia. They also overcharged me 4 dollars to ship a priority mail envelope. Ever wonder why you don’t see them put the postage on the envelope? Don’t go here

Can I even give a review if I’ve never been inside? For the past two mornings I have tried to stop in there on my way to work to ship two somewhat cumbersome packages. The door says they open at 8:30. The first morning I got there pretty much right at 8:30 and no one was there — door locked, place dark. I had a meeting at work so I dashed home, dropped the packages with my doorman to hold for the day and jumped in a cab to work. This morning I had more time, so I arrived at around 8:45 with the same two packages. Again, no one was there — door locked, place dark. I decided to wait it out, partly because I didn’t want to lug the packages to work and part because I wanted to complain about the misleading hours on the door. While I was waiting, someone walked by, noticed me standing there and said, «I hope you aren’t waiting for them to open — they never open on time… I’d come back in the afternoon.»
I gave up at 9:05 and hoofed it to work balancing the boxes till I passed the UPS store on 35^th street.
Ugh.

I’ve used this place on and off for a year or two and am always disappointed in the customer service.
From obtaining new passport photos to simply asking for a price of a mail box, the employees are uncaring, inattentive, thuggish, shifty and generally not very friendly. Sadly, this seems to be the rule for so many similar businesses throughout New York. I suppose when they figure they’ll get business regardless, why trouble themselves with customer service.
Want to mail a basic US Postal Service package and don’t want to put it in a street box? It’ll cost you $ 1, even if you’re a current customer. Have a question about the price of mail boxes or shipping? You may or may not get it answered depending on who and what is at the counter.
Awful, tacky service, cluttered store. Take a pass, walk to 23^rd street near 6^th Ave. and use the other private postal store.

I wanted to give them 1 star but I’ve never had any troubles with the things I’ve shipped (I use them strictly for work). It’s the attitude I cannot stand.
Carl Brutananadilewski’s twin brother runs the place (complete with track suit and gold chains). He can be aggressive at times, but always gets the job done. His employees, however, are a different story.
The last time I was in there I had to over night something to the West Coast. One of his employees started explaining Fedex options to me. When he thought I didn’t hear him he blurts out «You hear me?». So much for a personality there.
I always thought that, being in customer service you have to be polite and have somewhat of a good personality. I’ve worked in call centers & retail for years and have never seen any of my co-​workers act like that. Perhaps I expect too much form people in NY. *shrugs*
**UPDATE: since I’ve written this I have been back in. They seem to have a few new kids working the counter and they were really sweet/​polite. I wanted to make sure I mentioned this, as I was surprised at how well I was treated. Weird! Maybe they read this? Who knows.
