Local pizza spot. Not too expensive. Good quality overall. Not special but steady.

My girlfriend brought me here and said it was one of her favorite pizza places. I had high hopes but my regular slice was bland, very cheesy, and undercooked. They also don’t have a bathroom here which only added insult to injury in my humble opinion. Avoid at all costs. PS: Why are the owners uploading fake stock photo pictures of their pizza to Unilocal

I love this place; their Eggplant Parm is amazing and their Napolitan pizzas are great. The deals you can get make this a great place for a quick dinner. The calzone is pretty good and the sauce makes it better. Here’s a tip though: if you buy a calzone, take it home. The forks and knives here are wimpy and break easily. Use your own at home. All in all, great place to get decent pizza near NYU.

Cheap, flavorful, plentiful, SUCH amazing smells, and nice guys working the shop. The crust on that Sicilian-style pizza was divine! Buttery, flaky, perfectly crisp… and one of the ONLY pizza shops in the city where I don’t have to ask for it to be extra hot, because they serve it to you pipping! So take a handful of napkins, wipe off the counter, shift your weight to balance the stool, and dig in! Better yet, take it to go, and sit in Washington Square Park down the block! Most definitely one of the best no frills pizza joints in the city!

I got food poisoning the last time I ordered form here. I had bad diarrhea and throwing up at the same time. But besides the food posioning I usually go there to get their combo meal deal, it’s a good price for a quick fix on the go.

Total hole-in-the-wall joint, but the pizza is awesome. If you are looking to pop in and grab a slice to go, this is the place for you. Highly recommended.

Delicious pizza, and the other items they were offering looked pretty rad too. My only disappointment was the fact that their LevelUp didn’t work, and that none of the diet sodas were available at the soda fountain, which comes off as thought they want you to spend more money on buying the plastic bottles instead. Also, some people go to certain places specifically because they offer LevelUp as a payment. I’ll be back, bet yo LevelUp better be working!

Pretty decent lasagna for under $ 8. Portion size is pretty good as I always have leftovers. Today when I ordered it, I was asked what kind of fountain drink I would like to go with that. Wait… what the what? Didn’t know it came with a drink and I’d been ordering the same thing almost all semester! Is this a lunch special I didn’t know about? Location is great if you’re studying at the Bobst NYU Library.

A faithful standby, a favorite of NYU students and staff alike. The pizza is good, but I go for the lasagna, salads, and calzones. Fairly priced for takeout and delivery is fast. I’ve even gotten catering from here when hosting a party at a bar without a kitchen. Two trays of ziti were a huge hit, delivered right on time and piping hot. The people behind the counter are so nice, they always greet with a smile and the guy who makes the fresh pies waves to me through the window when I walk to work in the morning.

They’ve got one of the better vodka slices I’ve had and a thoroughly satisfying margherita slice. This place is just a bit on the pricey side for what you’re getting and sometimes the food is just a little hit-or-miss but I find that margherita pretty reliable. If you’re craving fresh mozzarella and basil on your pizza and you’re in Greenwich Village, this is the place to find it.

Pretty good pizza when it comes to getting it delivered to NYU and splitting it up amongst your classmates! I had their pepperoni and cheese which were both good, but super greasy(had to use up all their napkins to blot it out!). I did like how they cut them up into smaller slices-it makes grabbing and eating ‘em easier!

Food is good, but delivery is sketchy! The delivery guy will call you when he is 10 minutes away and tell you he is in the lobby and the guy won’t let him up. I told him I would ring down to make sure they would let him up(knowing the woman in my building always calls). I rang down to give permission and she said no one was there. Delivery guy admitted he was still walking there but«knew he wouldn’t be let up» so he wanted me to come down. Doesn’t this defeat the whole purpose of delivery?! I stood my ground and said she will let him up and i’ll see him on 4th floor when he arrives. He came up and said she never lets me up, next time you will have to come down. I said no no — she always lets people up. He said he comes everyday and she doesn’t. I don’t like being lied to by a LAZY guy that I just tipped. VERY sad service issue.

As a guy from Queens with some great pizza places in my own borough I have to say when I’m in the SoHo area I tend to go here for a quick bite. Prices are great, especially the $ 5 deal for 2x cheese slices and a drink. Staff are always nice and helpful and the place is built to be an in-and-out type of pizza place. For the city, I like it.

It’s quite convenient to visit here when I have a craving for pizza, which is very occasional by the way. The space is small but the line is never too long if any and there’s always place to sit and eat. They have many different kinds of pizza ready to be picked, which saves a lot of time from reading the menu. In general the pizza tastes good, and not very pricy.

Pizza is one of my favorite foods. In fact, my friends will tell you that I have a nearly ever-present craving for a slice. I’ll eat a full meal at a restaurant, walk out, and want a slice. 8 am, post-run? Slice. Pre-picnic in the park? Slice. Fortunately for me, this city(particularly the Village) offers a wealth of tasty pizza joints for me to satisfy this impulse. And it should come as no surprise that as new denizen of the SE Washington Square area, my rendezvous with Pizza Mercato would not take very long. The verdict: a decent choice if you are in the NYU/Washington Square area and need to satisfy your pizza craving. It features pricey(~$ 3.50/slice), slightly below-average pizza and a number of other home-style Italian dishes like lasagna and stuffed shells. There are certainly better options not too far away, but it’s fine for getting your fix if you aren’t in the mood to venture too far.

I had previously left a better review for the place, however I’m afraid after coming more I have to go back to being somewhat neutral about them. I still like it and will probably keep eating here now and then, but there are exceptions to my previous review. Some things, but not all, fit in the description I left before: «inexpensive good pizza, pasta bar and salad. Great lunch deals.» I tried one of the pasta bar specials, stuffed shells(with spinach and cheese) which is comparable in taste with the other pasta options. I tried this because today they didn’t have my favorite, pasta primavera — btw why? :( Anyway, I noticed you get much less food with this choice. I asked the employee whether he could add more, however he said each order is always 5 shells exactly, to which I had to resign. It wasn’t as filling as other pasta options I’d had before, mostly penne. I noticed they have lasagna and veggie lasagna, and those are also significantly smaller orders. Coming to think about it, their specialty slices, outside of the plain Neapolitan, are also not especially large or cheap, maybe even kind of pricey($ 3.50 in general). Bottom line, I’m amending my previous review because it depends on what you end up ordering! Nothing wrong with the lasagna or shells but the real pasta deals are the penne and pasta primavera(when available).

Neither good nor bad, really. When I am eager for pizza for lunch, I go to Pizza Mercato because it’s the closest place to my office, not because I find the pizza particularly good. I don’t find the staff particularly friendly, either. Still, they must be making a positive impression on some people — they sling a lot of pizza around lunchtime…

Nom nom nom this pizza was goodddddd!!! While wandering around one Sunday we stumbled upon this place, it smelled good, had an A, and looked relatively clean so we stopped in for some pizza and garlic knots. Two slices of pepperoni and an order of garlic knots were pretty fairly priced(though I don’t remember how much exactly) and they were very good. If I ever find myself in the neighborhood again I’ll definitely stop back. The only down side is that while they do have a good amount of seating, the seating is very cramped.

Service here was friendly and the place isn’t a dump like I anticipated due to its proximity to WSP/NYU central and the fact that it probably doesn’t need to try too hard on that front. The pizza was edible(though the crust was pretty poor) and the garlic NUTS(not knots) actually bordered on good(with a mass quantity of marinara on the side). Redeemed an Eat24 coupon + $ 5 from PayPal, which made 2 slices, a fountain drink, and 4 said nuts $ 0.63 total. Two Cheese Slices and 16oz Soda $ 3.951 $ 3.95 Choice of Soda: Coke(misleading since you arrive and they not only don’t check this indication, but it’s a fountain drink so it’d be awkward if they had it ready already… and there are flavors they have that aren’t listed, and vice versa) Coupon! Garlic Nuts(4) $ 1.251 Order Total: $ 5.63 I’ll never return for a slice even if I was in a bind, but every once in a while a good nut hit the spot. 4 Decent knots essentially $ 0.36 w/$ 1 LevelUp credit Transaction Amount $ 1.36 Credit Applied — $ 1.36

Pies are pretty cheap — $ 16 for a large 8 slice pizza. Service is quick and the pizza is pretty good. But make sure you eat it when it’s hot! When the pizza is fresh out of the oven, it’s pretty good — the sauce is sweet. But once the pizza starts to cool down a little, the cheese starts to congeal and get really rubbery. I’m 100% this place is still in business because it’s across the street from many NYU buildings. It’s a great place to grab a slice or two before/in between/after classes.
