Came here last night with a group of four for dinner. Per the waiters’ recommendations, we ordered the mushroom and mascarpone pizza and the spicy salumi one. I liked the interior decoration and the staff was very friendly. Our pizzas came out pretty quickly, although they forgot to bring us plates and I had to prompt the staff for the check. Would be willing to come back and try out the other pies!

The pizza and kale salad were acceptable. The wines by the glass were drinkable –barely. But, the service(other than the hostess who was nice and tried her best to help) was atrocious. I asked three people(in the course of finishing ½ of a pizza) for red pepper flakes and finally had to go searching for it myself(near the kitchen). A glass of wine took so long to come that I want to the bar, asked and was told they were working on it. I had already finished my pizza. Is there a union work slowdown in progress?

Have mixed feeling about this place. While the chef is a bit heavy handed with the salt, the food is always good. Last visit we ordered the beets, meatballs, margarita pizza, and the orecchiette. No complaints about any of it except the fact that they brought it all out at once. Really? The waiter seemed to reside from the planet of «dude». Totally out there, didn’t quite get it. To make it worse, we still were working on 4 plates of food, and they ask if we want dessert. Ummmm… let me finish first dude. I’ll go back because they are kid friendly but it won’t be first on my list.

This place has delicious pizza. We had the salumi pizza and added arugula and olives. Started with the bean salad and the warm brussels sprout salad, both yummy! The wine a little pricey at $ 13/glass, might have a 2nd glass if it was $ 9! Not the best service, had to ask for clean plates and ice a couple of times. The décor is low end when dinner for 2 costs $ 80

It’s definitely a family friendly spot. Probably wouldn’t go for a boozy brunch. I’d say more than half of the tables had kids. I went with a friend for an early dinner(may explain all the kids) and the pizzas were great. It’s a bit pricey for what it is, but quality was good and service was fine. The gluten free crust is one of the best I’ve had, you can barely tell it’s not«real» bread.

Based on the 3-stars, there’s a balanced good: bad ratio to the ratings. The good tend to focus on the ambience and good food. It seems that the general theme of the complaints trend towards good food, but not worth the $$ and poor service. I’m in the middle. The meatballs, corn compote, salads were really great. The first slice of the salami pizza was great too. It had a light, crispy, crunchy crusty. Every slice there after was doughy. There were a lot of problems at our table, albeit management did a great job of damage control. On the night we went, the drinks came out after the apps. The average wait time for drinks was 25 mins, the orders never came complete. I feel bad, but the service was horribly slow

As a wise rapper named Lil Wayne once stated«Life is a beach, I’m just playin’ in the sand» At Pizza Beach, life is indeed a beach– a beach made up of delicious pizza. My BF and I walked by on the weekend– it was packed(with families! there were all these strollers parked outside) and we were curious to see what the buzz was about. We ordered the Mushroom & Stracciatella pizza and the Sweet Potatoes with Avocado. The pizza was fresh out of the oven(so fresh that my BF and I both burned the roofs of mouths hahaha…) Soft, doughy and fresh, the pizza was topped off with a generous portion of mushrooms. Try it with some red pepper flakes! The Sweet Potatoes and Avocadoes were broiled and flavored with coriander and cumin. The sweet potatoes had a nice smoky flavor but the avocado chunks were bland. Price is on the expensive side for a pizza that size and service was a little slow. However, pizza was on point, so I recommend!

Very cute space but the pizza is not very tasty. I ordered the mozzarella and salami pizza. My girlfriend ordered the pizza with the Jalapeños. The dough was very chewy not crispy. I looked at both of our tins after we finished and we both did the same thing… we scraped off all of the toppings and left the pizza shell behind. I’ll be surprised if they survive unless they change their recipe.

You know, I’m really not sure how I feel about Pizza Beach. Once again, I feel as though the prices were too high for the final product, though the pizzas were quite delicious, and the restaurant itself was too loud and dark, even though both of those factors could have been way worse. I know I’ll end up here again at some point, since it’s a family favorite, but I don’t know that I’ll come back on my own. Since we were at a place that had pizza in its name, our group decided to split three pizzas between the four of us: the margherita, the zucca, and the roasted pear. For $ 52 before tax and tip, the pizzas should have been larger. We only took home two slices overall. However, they were quite tasty, which helped immensely. Honestly, the margherita was the only one that didn’t thrill me. It’s your basic margherita, nothing flashy, nothing outstanding. I absolutely loved the roasted pear, that one was my favorite. The caramelized onions worked well with the pears and arugula, giving it a slightly sweet and surprising crunch. Finally, the zucca was creative and the flavors melded together nicely. I hadn’t thought of kale as a viable pizza topping before, but why not? It’s one of those things you don’t think about and then becomes glaringly obvious in hindsight. If you find yourself on the Upper East Side and aren’t sure what to do for dinner, Pizza Beach is a perfectly fine option. If you know of a place where you would get more pizza for the price, I would recommend going there first before dropping $ 19 on a moderately sized pizza, even if it is delicious.

I have to start this by saying that our waiter Greg was awesome. However when you have a piece of brown hair BAKED into your pizza to the point that you can pick up the pizza by the hair there is a problem… Oh and even after telling the waiter the management did NOTHING to adjust the pizza cost of our bill… They said«we ate too much of the pizza before finding the hair» absolutely Beyond poor service on the management end no wonder this place has three stars overall. NYC is famous for pizza and great food– don’t waste your time or money here.

Ordered an appetizer special, which oddly was just potatoes(probably more appropriate as a side?) but still tasty. Had the brussel sprout & pancetta pizza. Very good! Light and fluffy crust is just the way I like it! Very flavorful too. Service is good and décor is fun. We also had the smores sundae for dessert which I really liked! Overall, worth a try. I will return :)

The tables are far too close to one another. Also, it was entirely too loud, I was screaming at my date the whole night. The pizzas were just ok. We got the four cheese and the lamb pizza. Both were rather soggy. The ingredients tasted fresh but the cook on the pizzas was not great and the tomato sauce was too sweet. 2 stars because, although the set up, noise and food was lacking, the servers did the best that they could given the situation.

The two stars are for atmosphere and service. The place is really really pretty. They string lights all over the ceiling so it’s really romantic and intimate. HOWEVER, my pizza was inedible. I ordered the mushroom pizza and it was completely flavorless. I literally could not even eat it. My friend ordered the salumi pizza and finished it, but said it was only okay. After tip and tax, my total came up to almost $ 30 and I didn’t even eat my pizza so it was definitely not worth it.

Came here with a party of 4 and was easily able to make a 7:45 pm reservation on Open Table. About two hours before the restaurant called to confirm the reservation which I thought was a nice touch. When we arrived it was super crowded but we sat right away with the reservation. I love this place because it offers vegan cheese which was delicious on the Rock Shrimp pizza. Everyone enjoyed their meal fully– all the pizzas came out great and the wine was delicious. The only complaint was the somewhat slow service– it was difficult to place an initial order since we sat for quite a while with no waitress service and throughout the meal it was quite a task to try to flag her down. Overall I would return as the food was delicious and the atmosphere was cool and intimate while staying pretty laid back.

Cool spot to grab pizza in Yorkville. The managers have done a nice job of bringing a trendy yet casual restaurant to the neighborhood. Inside features a retro beachside theme that draws sizeable crowds. Dinner tends to be a busy time for the restaurant so try making reservations beforehand, especially if you are eating with a larger group. You may have some luck as a walk-in guest if you are a smaller group. For example, I came here with a friend this past Saturday night and we were seated despite OpenTable showing no availabilities. The food menu includes appetizers, veggies, salads, pizzas, and main dishes with plenty of vegetarian and vegan-friendly options. I am a fan of the burrata and meatball appetizers and margherita, salumi picante, and pineapple & speck pizzas. The wine menu is straightforward(40 bottles for $ 40 each or $ 10 per glass), and there is a good selection of beer and non-alcoholic drinks as well. Service has been friendly and attentive in my experiences. I recommend checking it out if you find yourself nearby. I will be sure to stop by again sometime soon!

The place is super cute and the staff is very friendly. The food is fresh and delicious. Our party of seven had meatballs, hummus, grilled shrimp, roasted sweet potatoes and burrata for appetizers. Fish tacos, pizza, pasta, and Grecian chicken as entrees. S’mores sundae dessert was awesome. Seasonal beer was the winter ale and that was a must since winter is coming. Selfish! No complaints and will definitely return.

Now I remember why I have not come back here in a long time. Hostess in today’s case was of no help at all. I walked tonight in at 8:35 on a Tuesday night. Place was mostly empty. When I requested a tale by the window, the hostess replied: «Sorry, that’s for larger parties». I mentioned the time and the night and that most likely it would remain empty. Sure enough, it has remained empty. Other times I have come in with my girlfriend and we have not been accommodated either for simple things we have asked for. Luis

This place is amazing! I first found the restaurant on instagram and was in awe by the beach and surf décor. Although I don’t frequent the upper east side much, the last two times I was in the area I came here for dinner. My friend and I order the margarita pizza to share and it was the perfect amount and the perfect price. Half the pizza and a drink was about $ 15. Can’t beat it. This place is beachin’!! You’re shore to have a great time. You whale enjoy yourself!

Same solid pizzas as the uptown location, but the different menu seems much more limited, at least for now(hopefully?). There are no pastas here like they have at the Uptown location, but there are instead salad, vegetable, grill, and of course pizza sections. Everything other than the pizza wasn’t very memorable, but the fun vibe and the excellent crust makes it worth trying and coming back for. Definitely get the Salumi Picante Pizza($ 15).

Pizza Beach is a decent pizza spot but I wouldn’t go out of my way to check it out. If I lived on the UES I might give it another shot, but I don’t. A brief summary of the pros and cons below: Pros: Friendly service Definite beach atmosphere A few interesting ingredient combinations(including the Lamb Merguez and Oaxaca Cheese) Cons: Maybe it’s me, but pizza and the beach aren’t necessarily a blend I’m excited about Servers were a bit inattentive, even though they were nice Good, not great pizza The combination of a dimly lit, unique atmosphere makes Pizza Beach a potential casual date spot if you live on the UES, but there are so many great places that if you aren’t up in that part of town you can probably find somewhere a little better and avoid the trip.

This place is so nice and so is the service. My friend ordered a salad, didn’t like it, ordered another one, and they were nice enough to not charge us for the first one. Also, order the Rock Shrimp Pizza! It was so very very good.

I came here awhile back so forgive me if my memory of the meal has faded a bit. I was excited when this place opened, since I felt like we were lacking a good pizza joint in the UES/Yorkville neighborhood! Was excited to see this place open up just a block or so away from my apartment. We were started off with the kale salad, which was good overall but needed more cheese and nuts since there were several bland areas of the salad where the bitterness of the kale came out a bit too strongly. We shared the soppresata pizza(soppresata is basically pepperoni if you’re a noob =P) and it was very tasty and made with really good dough! This means a lot coming from me since I normally don’t eat the crust but even I was gobbling that crust up. Service was a bit odd and inconsistent. We had to wait to be seated even though the restaurant was completely empty when we arrived, and they also took our plates and silverware away in the meal and then had to bring them back again which was strange. I chalk that up to them being new at the time though, and they might have just been working out the kinks. Decent place to stop by if you’re in the area!

Pizza Beach is a beach themed pizza spot on the UES. It is cute, kid friendly and good. It’s pizza beach so of course you order pizza. I started with zucchini ribbons with tomatoes & granna padana cheese. The lemony zucchini and different tomatoes were so delish. On to the pizza– I ordered the pineapple, speck and jalapeño pizza. The crust was nice and the pineapple fresh, but the ingredients were just on the pizza without any true depth of flavor. Of course pineapple & ham w/heat tastes good, but something deeper was missing.

Decent pizza and food but a bit overpriced for what it is. Fun looking beachy surf spot décor that is more suited for the baby carriage and parents with kids crowd up here. We were surrounded by them during our weekend dinner here recently. Citrus Salad($ 13) — Frisee, Endive, Avocado, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Mandarin Orange, Citrus Vinaigrette. Not really the type of salad I normally like but it was ok. Margherita Pizza($ 15) — House Made Mozzarella, Crushed Tomatoes, Fresh Basil. Definitely could have used more salt. Kind of skimpy with the basil but ok. $ 5 for a diet coke in one of those small retro bottles — OUCH! No refills either. As I stated, I felt the prices here are a bit much for what you get and for the part of town it’s in. That being said it’s a cool trendy themed looking spot with good AC that was comfortable to dine in, and a nice attentive staff. Beer and wine served here too. I’ll leave this kind of place for those who drag around their food baby to enjoy, as it’s more suited to the Upper East Side parental units with their spawn up here.

I see the reviews and I can see how somebody can go either direction on Pizza Beach. The complaints about the timeliness of the service are founded in some truth… they are a little slow to take orders, etc. That said, in the end, food and friendliness win out. We shared their side of corn with a kale salad as an appetizer, and both were awesome. They actually were kind of great together if you are the mixing type. My gf ordered the traditional margherita and I had the salumi picante… both were pretty delicious(mine was better as it obviously had more flavor). The atmosphere is a little loud, but it is a good fit for a pizza place. While the service was a little slow, as I mentioned earlier, they were super friendly. My only real complaint is pricing… personal pizza’s ranging from $ 15-$ 22 is a bit high for the size. Overall worth a return trip.

Ummm hello! Pizza Beach has some great pizzas! Loved the dough and great portions. I had the beets and goat cheese pizza and loved it even though I never liked goat cheese. My bf had the short rib pasta and that was great too. We also shared the meatballs and who doesn’t look meatballs? Dessert is huge! Definitely share, and if you get ice cream one scoop is enough for one person.

In the world of Cute Young Hip Trend-Hungry Millennial Instagrammers, Pizza Beach has been on the radar for quite a few weeks. I’ve been itching to try it out, and finally was able to snag a friend to come here with me on a Sunday morning. The previous Sunday, after walking by this place after brunch with an aunt, the place was PACKED around noon. I urged my friend to meet me there at 11:30 to beat any rush. Well, only three other people were there.(I’m sure the masses in the UES escaped to The Hamptons for Memorial Day Weekend. Heh.) We easily got a seat; on a warm spring morning, we opted for an indoor seat near the open façade, which was lovely! The interior is decked out in a wicked cute pizza parlor meets beach house décor. Honestly, if you had led me in blindfolded and I was unaware of being in the Upper East Side, I would have expected to see the ocean had I looked out to my right.(Interior design, for the win!) We perused the brunch menu, looking at some pizzas and egg dishes. I was a bit bummed, because some of the pizzas on the regular menu did not appear on the brunch menu.(Purple Kale & Butternut Squash? YES, PLEASE!) No matter. One can’t go wrong with a classic margherita! My friend ordered Eggs Mascarpone. We split an order of banana bread to start. The food was all delicious. The banana bread came with whipped butter and micro basil; banana and basil go so well together! I was surprised. My pizza was lovely yet had a soggy crust towards the center, as many pizzas fall victim to. My friend liked her eggs, but she sure got a lot of bread: two pieces of focaccia and four pieces of grilled sourdough! There was more bread than breakfast! Haha. Once again, no matter, because she took the rest home with her to nosh on. The service… well, there in lies my issue. It was friendly, no doubt, the hostess was a sweetheart, and all staff were absolutely helpful. When we had a question about my friend’s egg dish being vegetarian, she was able to confirm that it had pancetta and we could have it removed.(The menu does have tags to denote vegetarian and vegan options, but it did not say that pancetta was part of the egg dish in the menu description, so it was a little bit nebulous.) However, when we arrived at 11:30, as I mentioned, we were only two of five customers. No one else came in until about 12:15 to dine in. It still took us roughly 45 minutes to get our food. Eh. I would have been more forgiving had it been crowded. I was very pleased with my brunch, however, not blown away. However, this place is really wicked cute. I definitely want to return, but perhaps for dinner so I can sample some of their other items. Like I said, that Purple Kale & Butternut Squash Pizza is calling my name! How can I resist? ;-)

I went to Pizza Beach this past Friday night, and was really happy with my experience there. It’s a fun, casual, kinda cool beach-themed Italian restaurant on the Upper East Side. I like that they take reservations, and I like that they have a cohesive concept. The hostess was super friendly, and the waiter was nice enough, but slightly flaky. Nothing too glaring, but worth mentioning. When I was there at Friday night around 7pm, there were a few families with elementary school aged children, as well 20 somethings on dates, definitely a neighborhood crowd, which I like. I loved the wine list; all bottles are $ 40, all glasses are $ 10, and there is literally something for everybody. I chose the soppressata pizza, as pepperoni is my absolute favorite, and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it. The crust was soft and chewy, and the ingredients were of good quality. However, it was under-salted in my opinion. I’m not really the type of person who frequents Murican fast casual restaurants, you know, places like Chotchkie’s and Flinger’s, but I do like my salt, and I missed it in my pizza.

Overall we were pleased with our dinner. The service(on the phone) was super friendly and efficient. The restaurant was clean and our food was ready fast. We had: Beet and goat cheese pizza — good but it needed salt Pesto spaghetti — good but it needed salt I think I am sensing a trend here… The food needs salt! That being said my super picky daughter loved the pesto spaghetti and the pizza crust(something she totally abhors). We would definitely order from Pizza Beach again, as they have a very interesting menu. I will updated once I try more of their food.
