I placed an order for delivery tonight and when the estimated time of delivery past, I tried to contact the restaurant with no luck. After two attempts, I reached out to Seamless, who said they got through to Pita Grill but were hung up on after being put on hold. Once it’d been 1.5 hours since I placed my order, I asked Seamless to cancel the delivery – 45 minutes later, my food showed up. All in all, it took 2 hours to get food that we know longer wanted. There is definitely something shady going on in that restaurant if I was unable to reach them after multiple attempts and they delivered the food AFTER my order was cancelled. I’d ordered from here multiple times in the past with little issue, but after this confusing and concerning experience, they’ve lost my business for good.

Not authentic middle-eastern food what so ever. They are neither arab nor israeli. The décor and menu make you think they are, but they are definitely not. The fish tacos are bland and have no seasoning or taste at all. The falafels were decent. I would probably never come back here again. The salads are in tiny tiny containers, like i would need 2 or 3 to get full, and they are pricey. I think its rude to be behind the counter of any establishment and be stuffing your face. The girl that works here did just that. The place was empty and the mexican guys in the kitchen stand around and stare at you while you eat

I used to order from here a lot when I lived in the hood. Last night, we placed an order at a friend’s house for delivery: 2 chicken salads, no eggplant, please(both came with eggplant anyway), 1 burger and fries(no fries delivered), 1 can of Seltzer(not delivered), a hummus app(also not delivered), and one Gyro Platter which was a heap of diced, fatty, gristly Lamb on rice ‘pilaf’ with microscopic sides of Tabouleh and Babaganoush. A shameful bag of food arrived an hour after we called, and surprise, they charged us for all the missing items. When we called to ask about all the fries, soda and hummus, they said we could get a credit next time we order. Well guess what? We’re throwing away the menu and NEVER ordering from here again. Below par food and disgusting service. We could have done much better with our $ 50.

Have ordered here before and had mostly good experiences. Tonight we ordered and nothing was showing up so after hour of waiting and trying to call with no one picking up phone we started to make something in house and finally after hour and a half the food arrived COLD!!! We are considering never ordering from here anymore.

I don’t think the taste of the food even matters. I ordered for delivery and received an e-mail assuring me my order would be delivered in 25 – 35 minutes. An hour later, with no food, I called and asked where my order was and was put on hold for more than 10 minutes before I hung up and had to call again several times before even getting someone on the other line. I finally was told that all the orders had left the building but when I asked if I could cancel, the woman on the other line said that it hadn’t left yet so that wouldn’t be a problem. Never bothering with this place again.

On UES at my friends apartment. We ordered on line and then waited over 90 minutes for the food to be delivered. After 45 minutes we called and were told that it was on it’s way. At 1 hour they again told us the delivery guy just left. At 90 minutes they told my friend’s daughter it just left. When this 11yo mentioned that is what they said after 45mins and an hour the guy stammered to reply. You would figure they would apologize and maybe offer to comp the meal or even send us some free coupons. But it doesn’t matter we will never order from here again.

This is a place where the food is good, but the service is horrendous. We order delivery and we continue to ask ourselves why. My husband and I like the food, but our order is usually wrong. Delivery is awful. We have had many late dinners because this place just can’t get it right. Food is good so if you want to stop by the store and eat in that might be a good option, but don’t opt for delivery. We have spoken to the manager and he actually openly admitted to us that ordering on a saturday is a mistake. Whoever owns this place should be ashamed and should make some changes.

I’m writing this review while currently starving as half my meal was missing — the usual– and after waiting over an hour for the first round, I am now waiting yet another hour for them to fix it. My boyfriend and I love the sauces and he is obsessed with the rice bowl and corn, so bc of him, we find ourselves ordering from them twice a week, gluttons of punishment. I am not exaggerating when I say this– nine out of ten times, there is something(or multiple things) wrong with the delivery(which always takes over an hour albeit being ten blocks away). We may be looking for it, but I just don’t understand how a place could f*** up your order so many damn times and not fix the problem. They are failing to keep track of their good customers and blatantly ignoring all their bad Unilocal reviews which count the same tale. Guess they just don’t care.

Rude delivery guy. The food was ok for lunch but when the delivery guy starts giving you a lecture on writing the address, nope. Especially when I gave the right info to the place but the restaurant had old info in their system. Won’t be ordering again sounds ridiculous I know, but work day work is stressful enough. Don’t need that negative juju in my day

I’m really not sure why this place has such a low rating on Unilocal.I typically order from this place several nights a week since it’s super close when I want a quick, healthy dinner and don’t feel like cooking. I love the goat cheese salad and the mexican corn on the cob. They also have a really good lunch special– an assortment of different wraps that come with either fries or a salad and drinks for $ 8.95– it’s hard to find a deal like that in NYC and the wraps are really good. I recommend the pita grilled wrap which has grilled chicken, eggplant, cranberries, and feta. My only complaint with this place is that sometimes the delivery can take a while even when I live super close, but I know that is because they get a ton of delivery orders.

This is one of those places you see languishing on the street, usually empty, just waiting for it to close. Pita Grill is very close to my apartment, so every so often(maybe every 4 months) I forget how much I disliked my previous experience and either order delivery or stop in. First problem: This place is slooooooooooow. Delivery has never taken less than an hour, and I live less than a block away. Even takeout orders average 20 minutes for preparation and the restaurant is almost always empty, save for one or two others. As it pertains to deliveries, the food not only takes a long time to arrive but generally arrives room temperature or colder. Every other restaurant in the area has mastered delivery. Why not Pita Grill? Second problem: The food bites. For example, the grilled chicken is often so chewy it is inedible. I’ve experienced this twice. Never again. Some other things are ok(the hummus, for example), but there is far too much bad among the good. Third problem: Orders are regularly messed up. I’d say half the deliveries I’ve received are missing something. Once, when I ordered in person, I was given someone else’s order(presumably someone waiting for delivery because there was no one else in store). I am writing this review to warn others and warn myself. Next time I am thinking«Oh, that place is close by; maybe I will give it another try,» I can now easily reference my thoughts in writing. In short: everyone knows this place has no future. Please close sooner rather than later.

Wish I looked at Unilocal before I went here. Interior is nice and cozy. Thats the only positive. Front of house staff is very overworked and fairly inattentive as a result. When ordering, I asked, «are the fries homemade?», and«is the veggie burger homemade?» I was only going to order if the answer was yes to both, since I dislike frozen fries and veggie burgers, especially for $ 9.25. Cashier said yes to both questions, but once I was served my disappointing meal it was instantly clear neither were homemade. Thanks for lying, twice. Reheating something from a Sysco truck does NOT qualify as homemade. Why pretend like it does? Any 15 year old at a snack bar can throw frozen fries into a fryolator and reheat a veggie burger. This is NYC, a culinary mecca, not a roadside truck stop. Step your game up and make some stuff fresh at the restaurant for Pete’s sake! Cashier also tried to charge me $ 3 extra, and had to look at the menu when I corrected her on the price. Veggie burger was at least good for a frozen one, but still nowhere near as good as a fresh one. The sandwich was just a defrosted veggie burger patty with lettuce in a pita, with no sauce. Bland city. I had to ask three different employees for water before I was actually given one. Other people had issues, too. Some girl was trying to pay for her drink for several minutes before giving up. The people next to me said, «Well that was a disaster» under their breath as they left. I wasn’t really paying attention, but it looked like one of them was trying to get a refund on something for over 10 minutes. I heard the employees collectively say sorry like a dozen times to several different customers while eating here, since the service was so lacking. Wow this place sucks!

Stopped in for a greek salad one day which was actually pretty good so 4 times now(shame on me) i have attempted to order it through Seamless and 4 times my order has been wrong. 1) greek salad came with goat cheese on it instead of feta. ummmmmm, wtf?! 2) specified«please don’t forget the feta» Was delivered with no feta and no dressing. Dry garden salad, yummmmm NOT! called and asked that they bring it because i dont have salad dressing in my house and 30 mins later i was brought a teaspoon of dressing and a half teaspoon of feta. awesome. 3) ordered greek salad and spinach pie. after an hour they called to tell me their seamless terminal was down so they just got my order and oh, they are out of spinach pie, do i want apple crisp instead. oh ya thanks, totally comparable! 4) ordered greek salad with NOOLIVES and tabouleh, asking for pita please. what do i get, 900 olives and a half a small pita. ok, i get it, they’re just being assholes now. Pita Grill, i get it. You don’t want my business. POINTTAKEN!

You’ve been warned! I ignored the negative reviews on here and ordered delivery because the menu appealed to me. I should have listened! I ordered chicken tortellini soup and by the time it arrived, it had spilled so much that it was half empty. Also, there was ZERO tortellini! I also ordered feta dip(this was actually good) with garlic pita chips. They completely forgot to include the chips :( I won’t be ordering from here again, but maybe a dine-in experience is better?

I love the three dollar pita and trying their samples. Service could quicker, overall the experiemce was good. I. paid for my food, moderately priced and ate there. It was clean. The bathroom was clean. If youre hungry and want some falafel stop in and. get a three dollar pita. Great tase. and ypur wallet will love it too.

Not only did it take an hour and 15 minutes for my food to arrive when the estimated delivery time was 30 – 45 minutes, they charged me for the juice that I ordered but did not include it in my delivery. I submitted my order on Seamless at 12:15pm. I called at 1:20pm to ask about the status of my order and was told my order left 5 minutes ago, which was far past the delivery window to begin with. And when I got my delivery, the container holding my entrée was crushed and the lid was falling off, such that my food was practically spilling out into the bag. And again, no juice that I ordered and was charged for. Never ordering from here again.

Greek salad is flavorful. For a few bucks extra, try some lamb gyro meat on top. Great hummus. The California hummus has Some jalapeño and Cilantro for a kick.

I so badly want to like this place but their customer service has left me livid every time now for three years. I couldn’t suck that much even if I tried. Delivery takes over an hour every time(I live three blocks away), they always forget something(tzatziki sauce, do you KNOW how dry falalfel is without that?!), and any time I’ve called to order I get put on hold for at least ten minutes. The place is consistently empty so I’m not sure where their employees time is being spent. I will probably continue going here just because I love their rice bowls. FML. However, I will make sure to order hours before I am actually hungry and order extra things I don’t want so that I’m not as mad when something is missing.
