ordered the chicken gyro platter $ 10.50. this stuff is healthy, but it’s not worth the amount that you are paying for it. i can make this at home. gyro chicken is just grilled chicken. also, the tomatoes that come in the platter aren’t fresh.

Don’t be fooled by the shiny website they got! That’s probably why they stay in business, i.e. online orders. Otherwise the place is hidden in a corner of the corner of a very weird space that they use for a «café/restaurant.» Total turn off to actually dine-in. It almost felt like I was in an underworld futuristic hole in the wall with all the purple and green neon walls. I get that the place could really use some color, anything to make it look pleasant, but really, NEON??? It would be forgivable and kind of cool even if their food was delish, but alas. I got the simplest item possible, a grilled chicken pitta. How many ways can you mess up a grilled chicken pita sandwich? Well the grilled chicken was like a flat chicken pancake, is that normal? There was a slight piece of lettuce and may be a hint of tomato that came with it. Don’t get me started on the pita bread. The only reason why I even knew about this place was because it participates in AA Dining so I got my extra miles at least for«dining» there.

A coworker invited me to join him at Pita Grill for lunch to use up a pretty good coupon he had on hand. Even with the coupon, I’d say this place was NOT worth it, and I don’t ever plan to go back. My coworker ordered a falafel sandwich which he described as «meh.» I ordered the vegetarian platter($ 9.50 before discount) which came with watery hummus, tasteless babaganoush, 2 falling-apart grape leaves, wilted tabouleh, 3 cold, dry falafels, a «mesculin» salad(wet romaine with three whitish tomato slices on top), and a cold, chewy pita on the side. The food was not fresh and was entirely flavorless. I could barely choke it all down. Service was slow and not what I’d call friendly, there was limited seating available, and there was no one else in the entire restaurant. Would have been better to walk a few blocks to wall street and pay for a cheap, hot, tasty falafel platter from a street cart.

I think I paid $ 13 for a salad with chicken on it, not sure because I’ve been trying to put the whole experience out of my memory. Gross. Food downtown continues to suck. Sigh.

Hate to give this place a bad review, but I just think there are much better lunch options in the area for the same price or cheaper. I tried the Hawaiian steak pita sandwich(about $ 9) which was okay but not something I would ever go back for. I work right by here, but I would recommend making the short trek up to Pita Press if you’re craving Greek.

I want to like Pita Grill SO bad, but this is a break-in-case-of-emergency place for me. Like I have a bad craving for falafel and it’s raining and i won’t walk to Alfanoose. You’d think true to their name, they’d be superfluous with the pita bread. Nope! You get one stinking pita bread for an entire container of hummus or tzatziki(called cucumber yogurt dip… seriously? why can’t you call it «tzatziki?»). One piece? You can’t give me at least two(or have it as an option on the menu?) And their hummus aint all that either… very bland… probably lack of garlic. Just an overall disappointment.

Not the cheapest place for lunch but one of the healthiest and freshest tasting. Everytime we order from here the bill tends to come out to ~$ 10 per person but then again, salads aren’t penny-pinching food either. I love their pita and roasted veggies because together you can make yourself many veggie pitas without paying the price of a platter. Sweet potato fries are a must for the lucky people who are made of gold. Stay away from the veggie burger bc the patty is probably microwavable. For meat lovers, the chicken dishes are always packed with flavor and never dry. Fish tacos are another favorite although the Mexican corn that comes with the platter option is funky and in the bad way. Paninis are tasty but rather small… perhaps something to do with trying to help people eat healthier. If you go to the store instead of ordering online, you get to see daily specials, which are priced a lot better than the regular menu.

This place is a great healthy alternative. The food is pretty tasty… a bit on the expensive side for what it is, though.($ 13 for grilled chicken platter). The location isn’t that impressive, but don’t think any location could be impressive on dingy New St. I will be back from time to time.

Do yourself a favor and stay away. Far, far away from Pita Grill. Don’t be fooled by their great-looking menu like we were. Everything looks great – you’ll think you’ve found a vegetarian paradise. Ha – I wish. To be honest, I don’t remember exactly what my roommate and I ordered – all I know is that everything was terrible. There wasn’t a single redeeming item. The hummus and the pitas(how do you mess those up??) tasted like they came from a dirty chemical factory in Jersey. And I almost always finish my food, even if I don’t *love* it, because I hate wasting $$. But in the case of the Pita Grill, it was a lost cause. Straight to the trash.

How can you make a consistently pasty falafel ball? The vegetarian plate was terrible! The hummus was bland, the eggplant dip was doughy and the only good thing was the tabouli which I suspect was store-bought. It was too good to have come from here. And it wasn’t just a bad day, I made the mistake of ordering from their midtown location once, same result. Never again.

I buy zi fish tacos from Pita place. I CRAZY!!! But food come quickly…(hehe) and taste good(hehe). The price is ok but no complain so much because I live in city… everything, including love, very expensive on Gucci wallet. I order fish tacos with corn on cob. I eat quickly and am happy. I go back!

Pita what??? Though initially, I pictured a place for grungy crazy vegetarians, this place turned out to be a good find. Tucked away down the block from one of our offices, it offered a new option to the infinite possibilities that I already had for lunch. I was hungry. Very hungry. I had the Steak & Fresh Mozzarella panini. It was GREAT! I was actually pleasantly surprised. I started talking to the owner of the place and he was a cool guy and tries very hard to make sure the customers are happy. They even have diet brownies… I don’t know who would eat such a thing, but hey, they have a bunch of options for everyone, burgers for those who wanna eat… and salad for those who want to pick. Sad that others didn’t have the same experience. Oh well… at least I had a great meal… as for pricing. its down the block from wall street… its a tourist and business area. its not macdonalds…

Blast from the past: Everything in Tribeca closes early. So we found Pita Grill on Seamless Web and saw they had healthy options. Plus they delivered to Tribeca and had humus for me. We were psyched. «This could be our regular delivery place!» we hoped. But there was a live cockroach crawling around in our salad. And while I love my protein…

Decent food, but man, way overpriced. $ 9 bucks for a couple of scoops of hummus and five way-too-doughy falafels? Bogus. However, the«California Hummus» earns two stars on it’s own merit. It’s hummus blended with cilantro and a just a bit of jalapeño. My advice would be to pick up a side for $ 4 and snack on it for a couple days. As far as lunch though, there are plenty of better and less expensive places to get your Mediterranean fix in Lower Manhattan: Alfanoose on Maiden Lane and Bread and Olive on John St. are two excellent choices, as well as the cart guy who sets up on Broadway across from Zucotti Park(aka Liberty Plaza).

I first went to Pita Grill last week, and I ended up making a return trip the next day. No the place isn’t that good but I am pretty indecisive come lunch time and my work friend really enjoyed her pita from the day before and to tell the truth I rather enjoyed my steak fajita pita as well. It was also the first time I tried fish taco’s and I thought they were good but don’t have much of a comparison to go on. So the positives about Pita Grill are that they have a decent tasting steak fajita and fish tacos. That however is pretty much it. They lose a star for each of the follow negatives. 1. The serving sizes are tiny. A pita sandwich is just that. It is as much sandwich as they could fit into one pita. And a fish taco is just a taco with fish. I ate them both and I still had to go elsewhere for more food, not nearly enough for a man size appetite. Not nearly enough for anyone’s appetite as the entire group felt hungry after their meal. 2. This place charges way too much for their small portions. My steak fajita and fish taco ran me 13+ and I still wasn’t full. That is not cool with the KBell. 3. They don’t give you any sauce. Nothing on the side no hot sauce, salsa, or nothing to go along with the very dry pita bread. The next day when I tried the grilled chicken pita, I had to sip coke with every bite. With that this place has cemented itself with two stars but indecision will probably lead to me eating here again. I’ll keep you updated as to any improvement. Just to be fair, one more good quality about this place is that it is rather healthy. You can get steamed veggies as a side with many of the platters and they do use dark leafy greens and fresh veggies.

My vegetarian co-worker recommended this place. I’m not a vegetarian, but i gave it a try anyway. I knew it was a bad sign when the place was completely empty at noon on a weekday(sophie’s, the cuban place next door, was packed). The sandwich was bland and dry, and my $ 8 or $ 9 didn’t yield enough food to fill me up.

I’ll give it a quarter of a star, for good measure… I normally wouldn’t review on this sorta place, but it sucked so bad I hope to keep any Wall Streeters away from this place. So what does $ 7.50 get you. I ordered the Tandoori Chicken Pita that supposedly comes with Mango Chutney. Lets see, I got two small pieces of grilled chicken, which was about as tandoori’d as my mother’s matzoh balls. No chutney of course and to top it all off the Pita was torn in half… gotta love these concept places!!!
