This is one of my go-to lunch spots, as they’re sandwiches are top notch. Favorites of mine include the marinated portobello and the roast beef hero. The ingredients are superior, and they have some kind of blast oven that toasts/melts things perfectly in less than a minute. What sets this place apart is the friendliness of the staff. The sandwich guys are engaging and seem to take pride in their work and I always get a warm smile at the register.

Picnic is one of the best lunch spots! Their hot foods are great! The chicken nuggets here are probably the best!

This place is awesome. Came in for the breakfast special. Got French toast, 1 egg, and bacon with a coffee for $ 5. Good food, friendly staff, clean and a nice place to stop by.

Before I go more in depth with this review. There are three words you should remember. FAST, EFFICIENT, FRIENDLY. That’s what came to mind when I first walked through the door. I came here to grab a quick lunch, and Picnic satisfied all my needs. I got their ruben which was made on marble rye bread and pretty much is your standard ruben. The area is spacious with plenty of seating, and has a wide variety of choices you can make, which is always a good thing for the pickiest of customers. The staff is extremely friendly, always greeting you and making a bit of small talk, and are n electrifying breath of fresh air during the lunch hour rush of finding some food.

Quick deli foods and reasonable prices but incredibly fast when you’re on the go in NYC! I love their salads and hot bar but have may or may had their cheese fries(soooo chubbbyyyy) and those were DELICIOUS! Many times I have gotten their salmon, chicken, and assorted roasted vegetables(brussel sprouts, beets, and butternut squash), I highly recommend that actually :-) My least impressive thing that I got here was the grilled cheese, it was so meh which is sad because the cheese fries will DOYOUIN The ladies and men working here are always so welcoming and excited to see you.

I came here because I really needed wifi. The food is good, nothing unexpected. I got a few eggs and coffee. The service is fab. So, so friendly. Ordering food from a counter actually put me in a good mood. Wifi signal is strong with no time limit. Ample seating. Good bet for cheap food with wifi in this area.

This is the lunch spot in Midtown East. Awesome sandwiches, sushi, hot plates with a protein and veggies. I’m always in the back ordering from the men at the sandwich station who keep everyone entertained while they wait. The only thing missing is the red checkered tablecloths.

Ate lunch here the other day and got a chicken BLT hero. Unfortunately the hero was extremely stale to the point where my jaw hurt after eating the sandwich. The chicken was ok(a little dry) and $ 9 price point on the hero is unfortunately right on par for any lunch in NYC. My friend says the salmon here is really good, so maybe give that a try if you want to actually have a good experience here. If you’re looking for a good deli hero for lunch, I’d stick to Lenny’s.

When in need of a lunch spot thats not claustrophobic, has seats and friendly efficient service… I head here. Sandwich guys are always cheerful and always make a mean BLT wrap for me. Dont forget to look up if downstairs is out of seats. It gets a lil warm up there but then you dont feel as if you’re on 57th as much…

I was in the neighborhood and needed a place to check some email(IE use some free wifi!) so I stopped in for a snack and some Internet browsing. I had the sushi(half off after 7pm I believe) which was mediocre. As was the brownie. The people working there were very friendly and lots of seating available. There was also a nice little upstairs area if you wanted to be a little more private. I think this is a decent place to go if you want somewhere quiet to do some work or some reading. I saw a few other people doing that. (oh and you have to ask the lady at the register for the wifi password)

As good as grab-n-go in NYC can get. I come here every day for lunch, if I can! Grade A salmon is always cooked to perfection, Sushi is frethe staff is always knowledgeable about their food(and its source/preparation), and I never feel rushed. A little expensive, but worth it.

I think I might be okay with paying $ 11 for a chicken leg plus 2 tiny sides, if they weren’t microwaved right before my eyes. They don’t even try to pretend that their food is freshly made. I work in the area, so I drop by occasionally, but every time I get my microwaved box of food, and walk over to the cashier to fork over $ 11, I can’t help but cringe a little bit. Why do I keep going back? The roast chicken, although tiny in portion, is tasty! It’s well marinated and the skin is especially delicious with all the spices rubbed in. Even after a ride in the microwave, it somehow still manages to stay juicy and tender.

This place offers delicious restaurant quality food without the wait and at a great price. I will come here once a week or so and I have been happy with everything from a dish with Salmon, Cauliflower, and avocado salad. to a country fried chicken wrap with coleslaw. The service is always great and the staff is very friendly.

Got a banh mi sandwich here for lunch a couple of times. The first time, it was really good. The second time, a little on the mediocre side. There’s a wide range of stuff. It’s a decent place to grab a lunch. You can go healthy, you can indulge. And it’s pretty clean! Haven’t had the sushi, though, but there’s a section in the back where they can apparently make it for you, fresh. There’s some seating here, but I think it’s a better place to grab and go.

I will never eat here again! After I ordered a vegetarian sandwich, the cook took out raw hamburger meat, patted it together for a burger and put it on the grill for another customer ANDTHEN reached right into the veggie bin to make my vegetarian sandwich. That’s not only unsanitary, but as a vegetarian I was totally grossed out. When I confronted him about it he looked at me like I had three heads. Same with the cashier, who told me the manager was too busy to talk to me. So gross!

Stale rice on sushi rolls is never a good sign. I can’t stand places like this. Generic with no personality. Sure, it offeres everything under the sun, but it is all crap. Oh well, you live and you learn.

There is a reasoning to my eccentric eating habits(monochromatic meals, eating foods that start with the same letter, and rotating between two or three items from one place). Aside from themes, I don’t like to stray from what works. After a good 11 months of ordering the same thing: 1) Falafel — lettuce, cucumber, tomato, red onions with extra tahini sauce on pita 2) Banh Mi — chopped pork, pickled slaw, sliced cucumber, jalapeño, cilantro & spicy mayo on a warm baguette My coworkers decided to stray from the pact and get a Croque Monsieur and Turkey Burger. I stuck, faithfully, by the Banh Mi and was not disappointed. They, on the other hand, deemed their dishes inedible. Authenticity is not to be questioned at Picnic on 57th. The Falafel and Banh Mi are without doubt Americanized, the Croque Monsieur was nowhere near French, and the Turkey Burger was an insult to poultry. The side of fries are good. Not too salty or greasy and thin and crispy like McDonald’s. For fast deli/cafeteria take out food, Picnic on 57th is in the area to please. The Falafel, interestingly enough, is assembled better when delivered while the Banh Mi tastes better in house. I like them both a lot. Just don’t make the same mistakes as my coworkers. Do not stray from 1 and 2.

Maybe I need some good luck for this place. The first time I wanted to buy milk. Every milk carton looked leaky and dirty. The second time I ordered a small bowl of tossed salad. It was the most expensive one with worst quality I had ever had in town — peas were hard and undercooked; the greens were stale; I asked balsamic vinaigrette but only got olive oil. The guy over charged me and probably he felt guilty so he asked whether I wanted to add more carrots. I was not surprised to pay more than 10 bucks for a small bowl of salad because things here are all overpriced more or less. Seriously, Midtown East needs better business.

So happy that this place opened up b/c it’s right by where I live! Can go right downstairs to grab a bite. The place is great, it’s like an upscale Pax/deli. They have various sections where you can pick up hot gourmet food, sushi, sandwiches/soup, grilled items, or pastries. They even have banh mi sandwiches on their menu. They sell the little japanese gummy candies that I like. And they also sell eggs and milk so I don’t have to walk 6 blocks to the nearest supermarket if I need regular kitchen items right away.
