Came here for the Phở and was not disappointed ! I had #15 Seafood and it was delicious. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the broth was so flavorful ! really yummy. The crispy spring rolls and the vegetable dumplings were also very good. I Would recommend this place for Phở.

This is my go to spot to get Vietnamese pork chop. It is right of the Grand B/D train. I always order the #107 for Pork Chop and Rice for only $ 6.75. The best part is… you can order a side of porkchop for like $ 2.50 each. Yeah, I know right!

The only reason why I even bother to set foot in this place is because Nam-Son down the block is closed or and/or I really have no other option. I’ve been here several times in the past and each and every experience I’ve had here has been mediocre at best. To sum it all up, this place provides mediocre(not superb) Vietnamese food. I recommend going to Nam Son. Don’t bother coming here when they’re about to close because they’ll try to rush you and get you to leave like they did to our party. All the dishes that I’ve ordered looked half-assed and the cooks don’t really put any effort into making the dishes presentable. We had to ask our waiter several times to refill our water cup and when he did, he spilled a good amount amount of water onto my food. Also we were presented with our check when we weren’t even finished with our food yet. Overall, I won’t be back here again. And if you’re thinking about ordering take-out here, prepare to wait a good half an hour.

Whenever I need to cure a hangover or warm myself up with some delicious Phở, Phở Grand is my go to spot. Very affordable — for 7 bucks you get a really large bowl of deliciousness. The rice dishes are good but the meat to rice ratio is a little unfavorable. Go with the Phở here.

I found a lot of things wrong with this restaurant, but maybe it could be attributed to the fact that it was almost closing time so they were impatient and forgot all about good customer service and good cooking. Upon some extensive thinking, I decided to give them 0.5 stars, rounded up to 1 star, for the decent price of the meals. 1. The floor was slippery. You could literally slide your way around. I couldn’t tell if it added an interesting touch or if it was just disgusting. 2. I didn’t think the lighting suited the appearance of the place. I didn’t think it was very appealing at all. 3. I gave them 0.5 extra stars for generously refilling our water… although the other guy who came to our table three times didn’t realize we needed more water. I guess his coworker saw and decided to save the day. But she ended up pouring the water so fast that she spilled some on my friend’s food. Nice try though. 4. I got grilled chicken on rice. One of my friends got that as well. We both thought the chicken was terrible. It was hard, had no flavor and tasted like they spent 10 seconds making it for us. We were disappointed. 5. The waiter slapped the check on our table in the middle of our meal. The thing is that we didn’t ask them to bring it to us yet. We assumed they were trying to rush us out, which is the opposite of good customer service. I tried to only charge $ 15 to my card for myself and one of my friends, while my other two friends paid in cash, but no, it has to go his way and he told me — in a condescending way — that I should just charge everything to my card and take my friends’ cash because«cash is good.» Well, I don’t like to carry cash, but sure. After charging my card, I was debating with my friends about the tip, and he just comes right back to our table expecting me to have wrote it down already. Once again, I thought that was disrespectful. He should’ve given us some time and space to finalize the tip to hand in. So… while it was almost closing time and they clearly needed to get everyone out so they could go home themselves, I believe the quality of service should still be consistent with the day time. Would I come back here again? Most likely not. Would I recommend this place to others? No.

Very good Phở love the options they give you. Very fast service, and it must be a popular spot, a lot of people were there! The broth was very flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfectly! Would recommend this place for Phở anytime.

Not much good things to write about this place. Walked Ina mad got a table immediately. Wasn’t given a second to look over the menu and the waitress goes«what do you want?» I order a phở with brisket in Vietnamese and they gave me phở with tendon. When I told the person I was given the wrong order, he didn’t understand and got another server. The other server yelled at me and told me this was phở with tendon and I understood that but I said that wasn’t what I ordered. He yelled at me again and then took it back to change it. Upon receiving what I ordered, FINALLY. I got a taste and was not pleased at all. The noodles were overcooked, the soup was watered down, and everything was just not satisfying. When asked for the check, the server who yelled at me just tossed it on my table with no regards.

Pretty good Phở for NYC!!! My favorite phở is still from philly but I like this place too. $ 7.95 for a big bowl of Phở(I got the number 1 that comes with everything). I would come back here! They have other stuff too besides Phở, such as vermicelli and smoothies. Come here for Phở, not the smoothis or other drinks.

New Edit: I’m lowering this place from a 4 star to a 1 star rating. The food is still excellent. I’m slightly worried about their hygiene as I saw a(male) waiter walk out of the ladies room immediately after a flush and definitely did not hear the water run– leading me to think that he didn’t wash his hands. On the same visit I found a small piece of hair in my food. Happy to have the owner respond to this review in a polite and constructive manner to straighten out any health concerns. Old post: The #7 — Phở with eye round and tendon — this is the dish that inspired the review. I consider myself a regular at Phở Grand, often holding heart to heart catch ups or engaging in scintillating conversations with close friends. Tonight, I just wanted a bowl of warm beef broth with hearty rice noodles and fresh and chewy beef tendon on a rainy night. I’ve been pleased with their food on most occasions. Their décor and service aren’t anything to write home about but if you’re happy with a good food and fast service at a low price, then you’re in for a satisfying meal.

The atmosphere here is very nice. Dim lights, wooden chairs, and wooden tables. The phở here is good, flavorful but not too salty. The noodles here is a bit different from the other phở noodles I usually have. The noodles here are more translucent and thin. Only thing I don’t like is the drink I ordered. I ordered the lemonade with soda, but I didn’t know they would put salt in it. The menu doesn’t say there will be salt in it either. But overall this is a nice spot, best of all they won’t run after you for a mandatory 15% tips like many other phở stores do. Definitely will swing by again if I’m in the neighborhood.

We tried Phở Grand as we saw good reviews, but we were disappointed by our meals :(. One of our Unilocal friend mentioned that it could be a hit or miss depending on the days though; so we guess this was one of the downs. The Phở came cold. The broth was tasteless and we had to add a lot of «nuoc mam» and«Hoisin» sauce to have something close to tasty. The Banh Cuon(rice crêpe) was not good. The paste used to make the crêpe was dry and did not taste good. We also had some Cha Gio(spring roll) for the starters and they were average. As a summary, this is an average Vietnamese restaurant. We would not recommend it for V-food lovers based on today’s experience.

Happened upon this place years ago while shopping for fish on Grand St… yes, fish shopping, lol. I do cook quite well! Lolz. Have never eaten in but get takeout and they deliver to the east village(yay!). The food is good and sooo cheap! The phở is better than a lot of places with a clean flavorful broth, and they are more than generous with all the accutrements that come with phở(basil, lime, bean sprouts, chili sauce). Other mentionables — pork chop vermicelli yum-o!.. beef bun, crispy savory pork filled spring rolls. mmm. and fresh summer rolls. Good authentic Viet food cheap. Great bang for your buck!

I love this place! I had the grilled beef over rice, with cucumber and tomato slices and a fish sauce on the side. The beef was DELICIOUS! We also tried the pork and chive dumplings(steamed) and they were kind of like, the best I’ve ever had. Pork seasoned well, no game-y taste and great dumpling texture. The service is quick, the environment is super clean and you can tell that it’s a place where regulars come to get their favorite dish. Score!

— Service was lightning fast. After being seated, our summer rolls hit the table within minutes of placing our order and our 2 bowls of phở came out a minute after finishing our summer rolls. It’s like they knew how ravenous we were. — I ordered a large #3, phở with beef brisket, tendon, and tripe. They certainly didn’t skimp on the meat. I think it was equal parts meat and phở, which isn’t a bad thing, but I always find myself wanting more noodles. Everything about it was delicious. No complaints. I left with a limp due to a stuffed belly, and that almost never happens whenever I eat phở. — I don’t ever expect stellar service in Chinatown but would a smile or eye contact hurt? — They were playing Charlie Brown music while we were there. No judgement. Just an observation.

Came here for dinner with a friend after work since she really likes this place. We order the number 2 and 4 with a small order of the spring rolls. The phở came before the spring rolls, which I will never understand. There were four spring rolls, along with lettuce, mint and fish sauce. The wrapper had a soggy/gummy texture, which was not appetizing. The phở was accompanied by mint, lemon and bean sprouts. The phở was pretty good! I loaded mine with bean sprouts and a squeeze of lemon juice. Mine had beef slices along with tendon. The broth was very good. Service was not bad. But this location is hard to find if you have never been.

Like the LA Lakers who apparently can’t sign any quality free agents and end up paying some stand in(i.e. Roy Hibbert as opposed to Lamarcus…), I too find I must manage to fill that hole in my heart and stomach with a clearly inferior product… in my case that product is that belonging to a genre of cuisine that I longingly lust for(but can never seem to find) here in NYC. Like the Lakers with their sub par player signings… I overpay for the product here. As a general rule, one should never really be able to finish an entire bowl of phở(and a $ 6-$ 7 bowl at that). That’s just the way it works, whether or not you’re starving, one’s phở eating experience should be akin to Thor attempting to finish a drink from the huge mythical horn thing(in Norse mythology, not Marvel comics… step your mythology game up); it should be «an admirable… but mistaken» effort(quote from Bane in TDKR). Here, I pay above and beyond $ 6-$ 7… expecting an $ 8+ size serving, but I get a medium. Some meat in there, not nearly enough noodles, and a damn lemon!!! Use the appropriate citrus; want a hint??? It’s green, rhymes with«time», and isn’t an orange/grapefruit/tangerine/clementine/kumquat/pomelo/Mandarin… I’ll let you use your deduction skills on that doozy. I could justify overpaying for the lack of quantity if the quality were something to write home(or Unilocal) about. Unfortunately, no dice on that front. It’s strange how phở works, the quantity and quality are pretty much in a symbiotic relationship with one another. Where one falters, the other is inevitably dragged down. Without more meat, there isn’t as much flavor to savor… without more noodles in the bowl, there’s less of that satisfying slurp. Alas, maybe I just expect too much. A wise woman once told me this: «Don’t have any expectations on people, places, or things… in the end, you’ll probably end up getting disappointed.» Upon entering this joint, keep this maxim in mind, go in tabula rasa… you may actually enjoy your bowl to the point of thinking it’s the best bowl of noodle soup you’ve ever had. However, if you have expectations, not with foundations generated from word of mouth or other second-hand hearsay accounts… but rather expectations forged from the realm of experience, then prepare to be disappointed a tad.

Phở Grand is my vietnamese restaurant of choice in Chinatown. All the other ones don’t compare! I’m very particular and picky when it comes to broth, and Phở Grand hits the spot. Their phở broth is extremely flavorful, and arrived STEAMING hot(I hate when noodle soups arrive lukewarm)! Huge, generous portions and just delicious overall.

Where to begin… for appetizer I decided to get the summer spring rolls which are the shrimp rolls wrapped in rice paper(2 per order). The rolls weren’t wrapped very well and fell apart easily. Having made spring rolls myself I felt like I would be able to make better ones at home. For the main dish I got #2 phở which came with tripe, tendon and beef eye round. That was the first red flag when I read beef EYEROUND, most phở dishes I’ve had come with rib eye cuts which is a better quality. The broth was decent but not enough flavor. As for the noodles they were not as soft? as I would normally like not quite sure where the problem lies but overall I won’t be coming back.

This is the second place I had phở in Manhattan and… im still disappointed BUT it is a tad bit better than the first place Phở Vietnam(thats saying something right) The broth here is cloudy which means its more fatty… what i prefer anyways… i want the rich soup! I got the beef flank and tripe phở… yum My tripe was supper… SUPPER long… like its one big piece of tripe… kinda kill the whole experience. The beef was alright. I dont know… im not impressed and i could care less to come back… unless im REALLY desparate

I have been to many Vietnamese restaurants that I know which ones are good and which ones are not worth returning to again. A friend recommended Phở Grand for me to try, so I came here one night with my boyfriend. We came on a Friday night and surprisingly it wasn’t too crazy. Décor is similar to many other Vietnamese restaurants I’ve been to before. I was amazed by how big and spacious Phở Grand is and that there’s additional seating in the back. For appetizer, we ordered the Vietnamese spring rolls. These were crunchy and piping hot. Fried to perfection and tasty! My boyfriend ordered his usual — Phở Xe Lua and oh man, it smelled insanely good! I couldn’t resist and just had to take a sip of that broth and gosh, it was amazing and just delightful! I’ll have to order that to myself next time. I absolutely love rice vermicelli at a Vietnamese restaurant because it’s so simple yet so delicious! I ordered the Spring Rolls & Grilled Beef over Rice Vermicelli. It was accompanied with a bowl of sweet, tangy Fish sauce too. I enjoyed my rice vermicelli very much. Overall, I really liked Phở Grand. Service was quick and on point. The food was great and prepared very well. I didn’t quite try the Phở Xe Lua or any of their noodle soups, so will definitely need to revisit and try their noodle soups.
