Went here for brunch on a Saturday with a group of 6. We had made a reservation and were seated as soon as our whole party had arrived. Our waiter was friendly and immediately asked what beverages we’d like. They have a great deal where you get a brunch entrée and bottomless mimosas or bloody marys for $ 25. This is cheaper than any other bottomless brunch I’ve seen in Manhattan but whereas most are for 2 hours, this place limits you to 75 minutes. So the price versus the time limit is definitely a factor. The mimosas were good but not as strong as I’d like, afterwards I should have felt more buzzed than I did considering how many I’d had. Those in my group who had the bloody marys said they were sufficiently strong but had way too much black pepper. The food was really good, everyone in my party had something different and had good things to say. I had the croissant French toast which was delicious. The only thing I was disappointed about was that they don’t have real maple syrup. The atmosphere is casual but still classy and the location in the west Village is great. Overall I would definitely go back for a good brunch at a reasonable price, but not for anything fancy or if I wanted to stay and drink for a while.

Went here for a quick brunch on a busy Sunday afternoon and it turned out to be very delightful. I ordered an omelette with waffle fries which were both good. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive even though they were quite busy. I would definitely come back again. Bring friends!

Philip Marie was recommended by a friend for brunch. My mom was in town for a belated Mother’s Day and I chose Philip Marie mainly because I couldn’t get a reservation anywhere else. Well now I know why… The inside dining area was dark with curtains that were pulled back but I didn’t want to sit against because they felt dirty. The ambiance was lacking any kind of charm or feeling outside of a diner, which was not what I was hoping for. The menu was lacking anything special, but I was excited about the crab cake Benedict so my mom and I ordered that and my boyfriend got an omelette. I should’ve known from the«poached» eggs that were left over on everyone’s plate that I was not going to be happy. When the food came it looked ok, however the«home fries» were SOPPING in oil, they were soggy and greasy I couldn’t even eat them. They would’ve tasted really good if they were not soaking in oil. When my boyfriend finished his he had a red oil spot on his plate that almost made me gag. The crab cake was decent, but did NOT need to be sitting on an english muffin, it’s already bread, it doesn’t need to sit on more bread! That being said the crab cake was the only edible thing on the plate. One of my poached eggs had a somewhat runny yolk and the other was basically a hard boiled egg… totally cooked center– defeating the purpose of a poached egg. My mom’s was the same and so were numerous people around that. Outside of the lack of knowing how to cook an egg the one I did eat had such a strong taste of vinegar I had to spit some of it out. The only thing truly enjoyable on my plate was the skewer of fruit. I’m sad that I brought my mom here for Mother’s Day because there are so many excellent restaurants in the city. The only thing they have going for them are the bottomless mimosa’s, but a lot of places have that. Needless to say I will not be back. They need to fire their chef and hire someone that went to cooking school basics. Even I can poach an egg…

I had the mango margarita and croissant french toast for breakfast here while sitting on the patio and enjoying the views of the city and enjoyed it. Prices were reasonable but towards the higher side, and the menu wasn’t too crazy so making a choice here should be easy. The mango margarita goes down quick and easy and isn’t too sweet or boozy and is nicely balanced. The french toast was quite good with a good amount of fresh strawberries, whipped cream. The patio is a great spot to people watch and it was in one of my favorite neighborhoods that we visited while in NY. Nice spot for a bite.

I have been to Philip Marie for lunch many times. I’ve always enjoyed the meals and anyone I’ve ever taken there has enjoyed the food as well. It’s a comfortable space, the service is really good and they are friendly people. Recently I went there for dinner with a friend and the food was as good as the lunches had been. I had the lamb ragout and it was outstanding! My friend had the corned beef, being St. Pat’s, and he loved it! Then a man, who I think was the manager, came by our table and gave us each a business card-sized card with an offer for a free bottle of wine on our next visit. He said it was good for any bottle up to $ 38 and it had no expiration. The card states you have to buy two dinner entrees and it’s one bottle per party. Sounds good to me. I thought that was a great way to get us to come back. And I did, the other day with two friends. While the food was again very good there was one thing that did not sit well with me and my guests. Just to confirm the terms of the deal, I asked the woman who sat us if there were any dollar amount restrictions when using the card. She said no. It was good for any bottle at any price. Sounded like they had changed the terms of the deal in our favor. So we picked out a nice bottle. When I showed the waiter the card and told him which bottle we wanted he informed us that the card was only good for the house red or white. So now, this is the third version I’ve been told of the terms of the card. I told him to check with the woman who seated us. He came back and confirmed it was only the house wines it applied to. I was extremely disappointed in what felt like a deception. No one come over to apologize or even explain why I was told three different things. Honestly, if I knew it was only good for the house wines from the start that would’ve been fine. I still would’ve thought it was a great deal. Now I feel like either no one there is on the same page about what the deal entails. Or, they deliberately deceived us. I want to believe it was the former because I like this place a lot. So just fair warning. If you are given the card you now know the terms… I think.

My friends and I had a reservation for 6 people which we changed to 5 upon checking in and quickly changed back to 6 at the last minute. The reservation error was on our part but was poorly received by the hostesses. The hostesses were extremely rude and presented us with attitude when we changed the reservation back to 6 people. They told us it would be a 5 minute wait which ended up turning into a 40 minute wait and a sarcastic response of «oh, you’re still here??». Have the decency to respect a reservation or at the very least have hostesses that are genuine instead of sarcastic. We would have waited to be seated had the hostesses not been rude.

Went here with a large group(25 ppl) for Easter brunch. Somehow, we all managed to show up within 15 minutes of our reservation, so we were seated in a timely fashion. I had no idea what to expect, but I imagined our group would pose a bit of challenge for their crew. For my meal, I decided to go with the lumberjack and bottomless mimosas, which came out to around $ 25 – which was a total steal. The lumberjack was perfect – three eggs, some bacon and sausage, and I swapped out the pancakes for croissant french toast – and it was heavenly. I don’t know why the ratings here as so low because they were able to manage our large group with ease and the service was pretty impeccable. In addition to the great food, our bottomless mimosas hardly ever ran out of liquid and everyone appeared to enjoy the space. Hats off to the staff here – I will definitely keep coming back if we continue to get this level service and food.

I went to this West Village establishment based on the previous reviews but was severely disappointed. Boozy brunch with bottomless drinks is a wonderful proposition, but with Bloody Marys so watered down I could taste not a hint of tomato in a slurry of ice and tabasco sauce, and using vodka found only in plastic bottles, I’d have been better off purchasing a single drink. The poached eggs were thoroughly sour from what I imagine is heavily vinegar-laden water, and additionally were overcooked to be nearly on par with hard-boiled eggs. The crab would be best described as a purée, and was over-salted. The service was prompt, and polite.

Had heard great things about this place and my friend and I were looking for a cheap but delicious brunch place. We made a reservation ahead of time and ended up being seated early by the hostess. The restaurant was busy but the noise level was tolerable. They have a great brunch deal where you can get anything on the menu and unlimited bloody Mary’s or mimosas for $ 24.95. It was slightly confusing because we thought we were limited to a couple items for this deal that were on the single brunch insert but the waitress reassured us we could pick anything on the menu. The service was fast and friendly. Jim was the manager and he came over twice to make sure we were enjoying our meal. My friend ordered the croissant French toast which was delicious and I had the Lumberjack(2 pancakes, 3 eggs, potatoes and bacon/sausage) also great. Portions sizes were good; very filling! The mimosas were VERY strong; little orange juice and lots of champagne! I didn’t mind but I know some people may complain. And our waitress did a great job not letting our glasses even reach being empty! Overall, great experience! Friendly staff, fast service and delicious food! I’ll definitely be back!

This is a pretty standard brunch location. Bottomless brunch runs for about $ 25, which is definitely a steal in NYC. You get your choice of mimosas or bloody mary’s. As a mimosa kind of gal, I’ve had my fair share of the good and the bad. These mimosas were a little hard to get down. I couldn’t tell if they were using hard liquor or if the champagne was 100% flat, but the mimosas had an unpleasant bite to them. You can only start drinking once you order, but the staff were very attentive and kept the refills coming. The nice thing is that they have a wide variety of entrees to fit your appetite, ranging from Lumberjack plates to smaller Eggs Benedict plates. Make sure to make a reservation, as this place gets packed. I highly recommend using Unilocal to book it; it was super easy and Unilocal sends you frequent reminders.

Really charming and cute place with a cozy, yet elegant atmosphere. So, I’ve been looking forward to trying this place and was pretty set on getting the steak, however when I got to the restaurant, I saw there was a Tuesday Night Clambake special for $ 19.99 that sounded really good, consisting of half lobster, baby shrimp, mussels, cockles(a type of clam), corn on the cob and baked potato, so I decided to get that. Even though I don’t like mussels. Or cockles. You would think that I would stick to what I originally planned, but no I had to order the special. Don’t get me wrong, the special is a great deal if you love everything listed, but probably not worth it if you’re not eating the mussels and cockles. More on that in a bit. The waiter started us off with a nice bread basket and olive oil with vinegar, with 3 different types of bread. I really liked the variety: Traditional baguette white bread; raisin and nut bread and this delightfully sweet yellow bread. When our entrees came, it was was on a huge plate. The entire bottom was filled with mussels, along with a few cockles. There was a flavorful tomato-based sauce on it and also shredded onion and carrots, as well as baby shrimp hidden in between the mussels etc. On top was corn on the cob and the half lobster, with baby shrimp on it. The baked potato came on a small side dish. I didn’t have any of the mussels or cockles, but tried some of the onion and carrots, which were just okay. I did like the shrimp though, and had to dig through the mussels etc to get to them but they were very tasty. The lobster was also good: Full of flavor, tender, juicy! And the corn on the cob was fresh and sweet. The potato wasn’t very good though, as it was quite bland. It would have been nice if we were given some butter and sour cream to put on it. I wish I had asked if I could have substituted the baked potato with shoestring potatoes. However, the service was great! The waiters were friendly and on top of everything. I enjoyed my time here and would possibly come back try one of their amazing sounding entrees from the land.

Philip Marie in the West Village offers American Breakfast and Brunch on weekend. It’s very popular with large groups and customers are encouraged to RSVP and have the whole group there before they are seated. The brunch menu is pretty concise making it very easy to decide what to order. I selected a medium well Grilled Chipotle BBQ cheeseburger with pepper jack cheese, Avocado, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickle, and spicy chipotle BBQ sauce served with waffle fries. For an extra $ 5 you can get unlimited(2 hours) of Mimosa. It was delicious and perfectly cooked and our waiter made sure that my glass of Mimosa was always filled. I always consider coming here when brunch comes to mind. It’s very convenient, inexpensive and customer service is really awesome.

Wow. I never knew we could be so incredibly disappointed by a restaurant in the west village… The reviews, pictures and menu sounded very promising and we were excited! Walking up to a charming French-esque café entrance, my husband and I were excited for a wonderful date night. The host and staff were super sweet and friendly… The décor was nice and the tables were we’ll spaced and the music was as a conversational volume. All pluses in my book! We each started with a glass of wine which was fine too and my husband wanted to share the sliders. They were super cute mini burgers and yummy little starter bites… Again getting us very excited for the meal ahead… Then it all went down hill. My husband got the special lobster bake and I got the leg of lamb. Everything looked and smelled yummy… But my husband was immediate turned off when his muscles seemed over cooked. Then when I bit into my lamb… There was a strange distinct lingering taste I couldn’t figure out but I was trying to see what seasoning it was… It took me about halfway through to realize it was the taste of freezer burn… Yup FREEZERBURN. My husband lobster was also severely under cooked and rubbery… Another sign it was frozen seafood for way too long. I bit into his corn which was also flavorless. The best thing of the night aside from wine and mini sliders was his baked potato. Incredibly disenchanted with this restaurant… There seemed to be no pride or passion in the food. It might as well have been from a cafeteria in a college campus. Two stars for décor, staff, wine and sliders… Minus 3 for poorly cooked, freeze burned, tasteless entrees. Even the others in the restaurant I could see pushing their food around on the plate. French cuisine is meant to be enjoyed and savored… Not just pushing around in hopes the waiter comes by and takes it away. We wee so turned off we even skipped dessert… And I never like to skip dessert! Safe to say we won’t be returning… But there are plenty more restaurants throughout the west village we are excited to try. This we will just mark down as an «oops».

Why does this place not have 5 stars?! The food was awesome! The service was unbelievably attentive. All of the staff was so warm. We loved them. I can’t figure out why for the life of me this has 3 stars. It clearly deserves more. This is our new place and we will be back and hope to bring more people back so they can fall in love with it like we did. Thank you to the staff of PM!

I came here for a work lunch and I was happy with the experience all the way around. We stumbled here because the place we were going to go to was unexpectedly closed. Though the place was pretty empty for a Friday lunch service, the stuff was great. They were very attentive and the host was fun and entertaining. Myself and my co-workers all enjoyed the food and I would recommend that you stop by if you are in the area.

We came here for lunch and I ordered the lunch special omelette for $ 13.95 and included a soup or salad and a soft drink. Had an omelette with bacon, onion and Swiss cheese. Very generous with the fillings. My partner had the BLT salad FOR $ 12.95 which was fresh and completely satisfying. A very pleasant lunch al fresco.
