This is just for the soup. I ordered the chicken noodle and matzah ball soup(pints). Chicken noodle does not have pieces of chicken in it, it’s just made from chicken stock. It’s tasty but doesn’t have much going on and I was looking for something a bit heartier. I rather have Sables chicken soup where you actually get chicken! Also, at sables you get a quart for the price of pints here!

excellent pastrami– as good as it gets in NYC and the corned beef was top notch too. The Deli is small so tke out is much easier– but if you are a pastrami and corned beef maven this is the new source for kosher deli in NYC

I’ve never had a pastrami sandwich prior to trying Pastrami Queen, so I wouldn’t have another place to compare to. However, the pastrami here melts in your mouth. I am not a crazy meat eater but I will crazy eat the pastrami here! My work orders for delivery once a week, every week, and week in and week out the pastrami is consistently melt in your mouth, soft, flavorfully good. Can’t wait until 12. That’s when the delivery man will arrive from here to us today!

Don’t be a «Schmuck» and get the Salami or Turkey, you come here to get the Pastrami. Take my word for it, I’m a «Leading Expert» in «The Field» — This is quite possible the best Pastrami, currently in the City of New York — 5 Boroughs. Second Avenue Deli can’t hold a candle to this. Don’t even try to mention Katz, because you won’t be taken seriously. This is the place. Come early — Space is limited. I would probably avoid the weekends. Waiter is awesome. The guys behind the counter are awesome too. Bread was Fresh; Russian Dressing was awesome. Fries were super. I would like to try the Hard Salami — it wasn’t available. Probably, my favorite Restaurant in the New York City! — You won’t be let down! Parking is tough! I parked around the corner in a garage. It was expensive! I didn’t want to get a ticket!

Asked for 2 slices of rye bread to go with the ½ pound of turkey I ordered for pickup. Rude, nasty, arrogant, employee of pastrami queen insists I need to look through the bag when I know I never asked for the 2 slices of bread in the first place. After spending 60.00 dollars for knishes, turkey and corn beef sandwich I shouldn’t have to be spoken to like a piece of shit. Pastrami Queen better train their employees to speak with a kinder tone to their long time customers more kindly and with consideration. After all Second Avenue Deli with the same quality. Sometimes better is right down the block. Disappointed in Pastrami Queen. If you like being spoken to like you are a piece of s – t go to pastrami queen. They are more than happy to serve and disrespect you. After taking your money.

If I was rating food alone it would be 10 stars! Most amazing pastrami on rye ever! Potato pancake amazing as well! Large sandwiches — only order 1 for 2 people. The reason for 4 stars is I can appreciate a New York attitude, and I get it is the last night of Hanukkah and as a kosher deli it was mobbed today. But they lost my order via Unilocal and gave away the man ahead of me large catering order as he was late picking up– prepaid I will add! The guys were really busy but were very rude asking people waiting to wait outside. It’s small– I get it– it’s NYC attitude I get that– but a little tiny bit of kindness would have gone a long way. I would get takeout again– it was awesome but would avoid all holidays and prime time hours.

My opinion. You come here for the pastrami. I used to go to the restaurant when they were called pastrami king in Queens. Then they moved to Manhattan then called pastrami queen. Food was still very good, though the price went up due to Manhattan rents. Still worth it though. Then everyone went on the health kick. Everything in moderation. Lots of kosher delis went bankrupt. Change of neighborhood clientele, or the notion that cured meat will kill you. Everything In moderation. Balance. It’s not rocket science. So Pastrami Queen moved again to a smaller spot. The food was still on point. But that damn Manhattan Lexington ave rent. It jacks up the prices. Regardless I pulled up a chair to the latest location. Great as ever. Nothing has changed. Still the best pastrami. The meat crumbles in you mouth, flavor explodes. Very delicate, with lots of goodness. A classic right here. Like no other. No complaints. Price is high in comparison to its rivals. Though this place is KING. Not queen. I would recommend it to anyone. Local or visitor. I had the French fries as well. Served to perfection. Staff is on point(A1) and the food is great. Prices are high like i stated many of times, though you have to factor in rent, utilities, etc. Another drive to destination in my book. Tip the employees well regardless if you order to go or eat in. They hustle to make sure everything runs smooth. Pastrami Queen. Do not leave me. I need you in my life.

A hole in the wall place. Really authentic New York food. Ordered the hot pastrami and it was AMAZING. MUSTTRY!!! It was like thick strips of bacon. Super tender and flavorful! I was honestly really shocked and impressed. The only thing I would say that I have against it is it is a small restaurant space and the prices are a little pricey. However, I’m basing this review just based on food and that deserves a 5 stars.

I’ve had to spend a lot of time at Lenox Hill hospital these days, the silver lining is that I’ve gotten to explore some food places far from my Brooklyn stomping grounds. Pastrami Queen is pricey considering the hole in the wall feel of the place but I guess unsurprising given the zip code. The pastrami sandwich does not disappoint, the Knishes are also fantastic, never brittle. Unfortunately the Matzoh balls are really bland, taking it to go they give you two massive firm bland balls in a separate container alongside with their regular chicken noodle soup. I’m a lover of matzoh balls and spent a lot on getting these… but I didn’t bother to eat these after the first bite. I was plenty satisfied by knish and pastrami. Tried the other soups since then, they are all much better than the matzoh ball.

Tag line for this place, good food rude service. Have a thick skin here and remember you’re here for pastrami. I visited yesterday and had the famous pastrami sandwich. It’s cut thin, looks really good, great marbling, and not too salty. I didn’t feel like I had to drink a gallon of water. I also had the fries. Nice and hand cut potatoes, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. I’d probably ask for them more well done next time. Otherwise, not overly greasy or salty so it was nice.

Wait, $ 17 for a sandwich?! It had better be the best damn sandwich on the face of the planet, and come with a pony. But it wasn’t. And there was no pony. The hot pastrami sandwich was good, but not great. A little on the dry side, I’d say. It’s not worth $ 17. On the upside, I had a very friendly server. I want my pony.

What I tried: Pastrami Sandwich, Pickles, Matzah Ball Soup Tip: Pastrami sandwich is easily shareable, especially since they give you extra bread on the side. I took some of the meat and made 2 sandwiches– one for immediate consumption and one for when the mood would strike. I ordered from here with pretty high expectations, since the reviews are all pretty great. However, it was good– not great. The pastrami had a little too much fat for my liking, and it was grossly overpriced. Yes, you get a ton of meat, but still. With that said, I am a bit biased since I grew up on Long Island with 3 Jewish Delis within walking distance where I could get a great, huge pastrami sandwich for 8 bucks. All in all– it was pretty good, the pastrami was tender and flavorful, and I do agree it is on par with Katz’s. The Matzah ball soup was pretty good as well, but lacked a true homemade taste. I’d recommend if you’re having a craving for a huge pastrami sandwich in the city, but I probably wont be back.

200th review of Pastrami Queen garners a solid five stars. First time here, happened to find it due to a visit to Lenox Hill Hospital(everyones safe and happy by the by.) and I am in love! I guess I should preface that by saying I have NEVER been to Katz’s deli. Tons of other reviews have done the comparison thing, so this is what I think without a comparison. I have been around a few pastrami sandwiches in my day and I can assure you this one is a goddamn knockout! Small store, a few tables but a big counter with very helpful staff looking to get the take out crowd in then out. Nice display case,(the chopped liver looked so good! but thats for next time) I believe the manager had come out to expedite the growing crowd and I heard him tell the cashier«don’t charge her for that» in reference to a thing my wife ordered. Nice. I did not grow up Kosher but married into a family that does bagels with lox and potato pancakes and matzah ball soup and through years of indoctrination I can assure this place is the real deal! Order«heavy» for a bigger portion, order«lean» for less fat, anyway you SLICEIT this place rocks. Pastrami is great, Corned Beef is great, Potato Knish is B Dig. Condiments are plentiful and tasty. In summation, screw Katz the tourist trap and get down to the Pastrami Queen!

What I’ve had: Pastrami Sandwich, Pickles Would I go back?: YES Story: Night before I had gone to 2nd Ave Deli with a friend — and made the mistake of getting soup instead of a sandwich. I did have a bite of his — it was good but not as good as I was expecting — meat was tough there. Regardless i was craving a good pastrami sandwich — this place is in my neighborhood and i’d been wanting to stop in. On my way back to work — stopped in bought a pastrami sandwich. I think this place is better than Katz’s. Meat was super tender and flavorful. Rye bread was soft and warm. Couldn’t have asked more from this sandwich. Go here for a great pastrami sandwich.

The pastrami is sweeter here than Katz. The menu is simple with its own NY flair. We split the pastrami with potato salad on top. It was a quick meal. The waiter gave us some pickles as we sat down. They didn’t serve any juices or coffee, but they have quite the wide assortment of refreshments in the icebox next to the entrance.

Excellent quality pastrami, normal price for a massive sandwich at a kosher deli($ 16). I actually split the sandwich with my girlfriend. The garlic French fries are also good, tons of garlic. Nice selection of root beer and cream soda. Not a lot of space inside. Service was brusque but prompt. Not a bad option if you’re out seeing museums on the UES

Good… but not Katz’s! Came here hoping I’d found a new, less packed pastrami on rye joint, but sadly disappointed. The slices are thinner and less fatty; still super greasy, but didn’t have the same melt-in-your mouth feel and was more on the dry side. The flavors were good though; had a decent, roasted briny taste. I’m going to try 2nd Ave Deli next, but til then, Katz’s it is!

Wanting to grab some lunch after spending a good amount of the day at The Met, we had a delicious Pastrami sandwich on our minds. However, instead of going back across town to one of the more well known deli’s such as Katz’s(as we had originally planned), we started thinking that it really is an affront to a great food city like NYC to gallivant all over town to places based off popularity, where there are undoubtedly plenty of great options always near you. So, we decided to hit up Unilocal and found Pastrami Queen was close and headed there. On the inside, it is just your standard deli/eatery that you see sprinkled about all over town. There are a few tables and there was a constant influx of customers, even for a late lunch, so I think this place does have a good reputation with the locals. We immediately ordered the World Famous Hot Pastrami and some Motzoh Ball Soup(we split each). I definitely think it is the best Pastrami I have ever had and my fiancée who spent some time in NYC during college, thought the same. The pastrami was moist, tender, and had great flavor and was cut in nice, thick slices. Now I definitely have pastrami on my mind back home in Texas. Pastrami Queen proves that you don’t need to go to the established favorites(Katz’s, Carnegie, etc.) to get a great meal and you will probably save money and time to boot by avoiding the masses. Go pastrami.

I have to say a 5 just b/c the folks the were very knowledgeable, nice, and hospitable with me and my hellion family. My family and I were tired and hungry after seeing the MET, so I Unilocaled restaurants close by. Walked about 10 mins to get there. Not too bad. When we walked in, I was SO stoked they had tables. Not many, but a 4 man table and a few 2 man tables! Our legs were already exhausted and I was kind of sick. Not a good combo. The inside looks like a Deli. They have everything out in front of you as you walk in & they cut everything behind the counter. Our waiter told us what was popular, ok, and etc. In the end, we got the Pastrami & Corned Beef with garlic fries and coleslaw. The Pastrami was DELICIOUS. One of the best I’ve had. I’m drooling just thinking about it. Nommmmm. We all split it up into 4s and agreed that was super good. The bread was kind of flimsy, but I think… Jewish bread is known for that? Lol. I’ve had other Jewish dishes in Atlanta and their bread is kind of flimsy too. So… Corned beef was good. But I think compared to Pastrami, it was ok. But our waiter told us either people love it or think meh of it. We took a risk! I’m happy we tried it though! It’s just that my family has a particular preference. Coleslaw — weirdly enough was very good too. Tasted home made. I wanted to other plate of it haha. Was just right. Way better than most places I’ve had it. I’d highly recommend it if you want to try it. Garlic Fries… get it. It was a nice side dish as well with our sandwiches. A nice touch along with coleslaw Also — their customers at other tables gave us tips on what to order as well. Extremely nice! I was kind of surprised haha. I didn’t try Katz, it was too far. But I am happily satisfied with Pastrami Queen. :)

OK i dont give 5 stars unless its Bomb! This place is on point. Once you enter the guys let you sample the meat of choice. The pastrami is piled high and delicious, and served by friendly staff in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. The homemade chips work well with the Giant Pastrami sandwich. The main reason this place is 5 stars is because customer service was A1! Keep it up!
