Worst place ever! Don’t waste your time ordering, order here twice and yet I can never seem to get my food delivered. They said they came to my work building and waited, went down twice and no one was there. The security told me no one from there place ever showed up. I called the place back and the lady yells at me over the phone. I had to tell her to stop yelling and thank God this was not face to face. This place need to closes down and reopen when they have new management. Again DONTORDERNORGOHERE!

Food is ok. The staff is kinda rude. Unclean tables. Loos were quite unclean. Not happy. Definitely not returning.

Horrible customer service — please avoid. We were just trying to buy a piece of bread and because the lady at the counter couldn’t open the register — she kept us waiting and was not able to figure out what to do. Food is not great either. Avoid avoid avoid !

Not good. We were visiting the Empire State bldg and decided to stop in here for a quick bite. At first glance, everything looked appetizing enough. We ordered a salad and a chicken parm panini sandwich. They had a lot of Panini’s on display so i assumed they were probably a big seller. The smallest salad was WAY too big and was all quantity and no quality. Mediocre at best. While waiting for the panini sandwich to be heated, I went into the bathroom. I couldn’t use the toilet because someone had backed it up. Ok, this happens… Not a pretty sight. Then I go to wash my hands, and no soap. Then the person who took my order went in the bathroom after me, so I started thinking«how are these guys washing their hands when there is no soap???»… Immediately I went to the counter and asked the other employee to get my sandwich so the one coming out of the bathroom wouldn’t touch it. The chicken parm sandwich had what I assume was pre-cooked, frozen, then reheated chicken which was flat and dry, accompanied by a pink sauce(almost like vodka sauce) which was obviously some cheap, pasty canned spaghetti sauce. The taste was bland, the sauce was not the robust marinara i hoped for, like I’d expect for chicken parm(I’ve eaten jarred sauce 100x better), and I even questioned whether what I was eating was actually chicken. I took two bites and threw the rest in the garbage, making sure the staff and other customers could see me throwing the entire sandwich away. So my lunch was a bag of chips and a bottle of soda. Two hours later I found a great pizza shop.

OK lunch/snack spot if you’re in the area. I wouldn’t call it a destination, but it’s a good place to jump into if you’re hungry. If you’re a tourist, keep in mind that this is not representative of a «good» NYC lunch spot. Ignore the tempting location if you’re looking for some real gourmet food. While in here I grabbed a roasted turkey panini(I use that word loosely). The sandwiches don’t appear to be pressed but rather simply reheated, which is reflected in the taste. Still, it was ok for a quick bite and the beverage selection is good enough. Seating is adequate but pretty basic. Everything seemed clean enough for the most part and no one really bothers you while you’re eating. I came here in the middle of the day so there wasn’t much of a crowd. One nice thing about this place is the ability to charge your phone. I had zero battery left on my phone and dipped in here to grab a bite and hopefully find an outlet. Luckily, they do have some outlets and appear let you charge off them(I didn’t really ask, but they didn’t bother me about it).

Horrible. Went in there for a breakfast sandwich around 10:30am on a workday, so it was pretty empty. Ordered an egg sandwich and watched the guy making the sandwich(with his back to me), drop the spatula and then pick it up and continue to mix my eggs on the grill. Now, I know this happens all the time in NYC, but I just don’t want the guy being obvious about it. Needless to say, never been back since and will never go back. Go to Sunberry, Gourmet Park or Fresh & Co instead.

I agree with previous Unilocal reviews. This place lacks good customer service. I went to purchased a soup for lunch today. I asked the guy behind the counter if I could try the Chicken Gumbo Soup? His response«No try, you buy». I proceeded to walk out and purchased lunch at another lunch spot. I definitely will not visit this location again.

It’s Friday around 2pm. Let’s begin at the salad bar. There are usually two guys. The first guy adds all my selections and passes it onto the second guy who adds the dressing and mixes the salad. After he finishes, he puts the lid on. At that point, I said, «sorry could you add croutons too?» He didn’t look happy since he’d already taken off his gloves(wasn’t sure if he was even wearing them come to think). So he opens the lid, then puts his bare hand into a bowl of croutons and proceeds to drop them into my salad bowl. On the same day the Mayor of NYC has a press conference about an Ebola victim in NYC, this guy has not only put his bare hand all over my croutons but also the croutons in the bowl which will be used for future customers. I can only wonder how sanitized the food in this entire place is after this incident.

Not great, not horrible. It’s across the street from my office so I stop in from time to time for a rice bowl with chicken(very good for the price) or a soup and wrap. They have a fantastic tomato basil soup. The quiches leave much to be desired but they are cheap. The wraps are pretty good. I really do not like that everything is heated in the microwave. Toaster ovens maybe? Even Dunkin Donut has toaster ovens! Service has been good in my experience. They are the run of the mill midtown deli, nothing more nothing less.

Food quality is just basic, the real issue was customer service! I am in town for a meeting. We placed an order for about 20 people. Four meeting attendees went and picked up four bags of food, which did not seem like enough. So, before leaving they said«we will come back if food is missing». Low and behold, a handful of items were missing! When we went back to get the missing items, they were refusing to admit the mistake and give us the food we paid for! Finally it just came down to the man(who claimed no mistake in filling the bags) whipping his apron off, throwing his hands in the air, and leaving the situation. How stressful and childish! Someone else fortunately stepped in and fixed what was wrong.

What’s with all the bad reviews? I know this place isn’t gourmet, but it’s great for the basics. Where else can you get a salad with unlimited toppings for $ 8? They also have great tomato basil soup. I love the soup and half sandwich combo(love the pesto chicken). I go here a lot because I work in the building next door and they give us 10% off. The people who work there are incredibly efficient and super nice. There is one guy who I always see working the sandwich line who is very friendly and always recognizes me. There’s something to be said for that. No, I wouldn’t recommend everything on the menu, but it’s a solid place for soup, salad, or a sandwich.

Go here for salads a few times a week, although their sandwiches are subpar. Unlimited salad toppings and reasonable prices. Latina girl at the front register is a minx, probably rate her 8⁄10

I ordered the Cobb Salad and the Very Berry smoothie. The salad was pretty good as was the smoothie. Did not really have any complaints about the place just that I found a different place that I believe to be better. Smoothie was the best part of the meal though

There are a few Oxford Cafes located in this city. Maybe the 59th Street location does not represent the other cafes, but here are my two cents anyway. I have gone to the Oxford Café a handful of times… maybe 5 or so since I started working at 110 E. 59th. The café is right across the street, making it an easy option when pressed for time or facing lousy weather. The food, up until today, has been so/so. I have only gotten breakfast, which you think would be pretty hard to mess up. Ordered the bacon, egg and cheese on a roll today. It looks like they only use one egg and the bacon(incredibly greasy and astheticially displeasing) was lumped on one side of the sandwich. When I got back to my office, I had to practically wash the bacon to make it edible. The cashier also tried to charge me a dollar more than I was supposed to be charged. When I challenged her on the price, she started to lose her mind. Instead of starting the transaction over and charging me for the correct meal, she started typing random prices into the register. After three tries, she gave up and ran the transaction without ringing the register. She still ended up charging me $.15 more than I was supposed to pay, but I just wanted the pain to stop. Needless to say, I will not be returning. Better options in the area… try Sunberry. Definitely better.

Tourists, don’t do it! Definitely one of those places frequented by unsuspecting tourists, largely due to its location. Name me among those tourists today. I stopped in for a small bite and could only spit everything out. My mistake was getting the wild mushroom and spinach quiche, which i thought they were out of… until the guy turned the«broccoli & cheddar» sign around. Voila! Wild mushroom & spinach, like magic. I had him warm it since it’d obviously been sitting out all day. Warmth didn’t help. I ate it upside down since the bottom wasn’t quite as off as the top. $ 5 down the tubes. And the lady overcharged me by 50 cents. At least they played the best, most inappropriate babymaking music from the 90s and today. Silver lining.

I usually don’t even bother writing a review for a chain café, but there’s something I think the consumers need to know about this one. I have been working in the building where this particular oxford is located for 5 years. For the sake of convenience, I grab breakfast and lunch at this place pretty frequently. For the past two years, the quality and quantity of the food is getting worse and worse. I understand that the economy is tough on all businesses, but ripping off customers isn’t exactly a smart plan to save money because you are losing them to your competitors. When I ordered oatmeal, it was never filled to the top like how it was used to, and once I asked raisin for topping, and end up finding 5 in total. The salad I got for the past few times only filled up a little more than half a bowl. I’m usually not a coffee person, that’s why I get cappuccino since it’s less strong, but this morning the cappuccino I got taste like steam milk. When I opened the lid, the color is lighter than the skin of a Vietnamese who’s lived in Russia for five years. Seriously!!! and now I’m sleepy as hell. This is why I rather walked a block to metro, or any other place for that matter.

All i have to say is cappuccino-muffin. uhmazing. lunch is eh, but I concur with the fellow Unilocalers, you’re getting the best salad for your dollar. And its fast. usually have never been disappointed by the fruit or the OJ either.

In my delusion of not having eaten for 8 hours, stumbled upon this place to silence my angry, empty, acid filled, and lonely stomach. Not even 10 seconds having walked in, was my sister and followed with, «What you like?», or «You ready?», or «You want this?» after so much as pointing or looking in the direction of a sandwich or salad. I WANTTOLOOKFIRST! DON’T PRESSUREME! THISIS A PRECIOUSMOMENT! PrEcIoUsssss! So after I finished going all Gollum on them, I settled for the eggplant parm panini and my sister got a half a chicken faitata wrap and a broccoli and cheddar quiche. Honestly, everything wasn’t bad and not really very memorable all except for the Oreo brownie we grabbed on the way out of the place, since they were cleaning up to lock up for the night. Just average, and I’m not your average girl — but at that point, I would have eaten the flower bulbs in the apartment gardens if I didn’t eat.
