It’s worth mentioning that back in the 1970’s the family(Ottomanelli) had a meat market in Greenwich Village. They were top quality and supplied my father’s club with all their meat. The meat was known to be top quality and very much in demand. The shop was always crazy busy with people traveling from other neighborhoods to go there. I can only assume the restaurant is using the same top quality meat.

Sauce. Sauce. Sauce makes the meal. … One of the more savory around.. certainly one great recipe that you can immediately tell is homemade. I remember as a kid my folks would take me to an old italian deli counter like this one where the smells and sauces are oh so nostalgic. Man.. I am going to need to bike 100 miles a day to live in this neighborhood. … :)

FANTASTIC — this is by far the best little sandwich shop in the city — and that is saying something — friendly, helpful staff — delicious, old-fashioned ingredients — right on Park Avenue — a real find — have been frequenting this place for several years now and have no intention of stopping — keep it up!

This place makes AMAZING sandwiches! I love their turkey on multi-grain with lettuce, tomato, mayo and pickles… heavenly. Do not rely on the one star review — try it for yourself. Also, very convenient to museums or for a picnic in Central Park.

Some friends and I were on our way to the Guggenheim which is nearby I decided to grab a quick bit. I saw this little place on the corner and it looked like a place to check out. It wasn’t really modern with the flashy lights and decorations outside. It was simple and welcoming. Once inside it was like you weren’t on the Upper East Side any more. It was like being in an old corner store from the 50’s. The interior was wooden with photos and books. Shelves with pasta sauce and steak sauces. Cookies and even Gelato. They sell meats, pastries and even frozen meals. The friendly guy at the counter handed me a menu and I skimmed through it. I didn’t want anything too heavy, so I opted for the Breakfast Wrap. I’m the type of guy that can eat breakfast anytime of the day/night. My friend decided to get a meatball sandwich. We got our food and made our way to one of the tables. I got my wrap out and it was pretty delicious. It was stuffed with bacon, eggs and cheese and really hit the spot. When I looked over at my friend he took out a GIGANTIC thing wrapped in foil. If something is wrapped in foil TWICE, you know it has to be good. The meatball sub was loaded with meat, sauce and gooey cheese. It was HUGE.(please see photo for reference). The bread was perfectly toasted and it did not get soggy after soaking up the sauce. The meatballs were real hearty and rich. You will definitely get a piece of meatball with every bite. This is definitely my go to spots when hitting up the Museum or Central Park.
