I solely went here for the bags. It so happens they had some bags on sale so I bought 2. The place was nicely organized. I did look at the clothes but they didn’t really have much of a selection. But I am looking forward to going again to buy another bag. Love their design.

This place and it’s products deserve NO stars. I bought a $ 345 bag while visiting in NYC and got it home to discover a foul smell coming from the bag. Either the leather trim or the polyvinyl coating stink. I took it to a local seller of their bags and the staff there agreed that it was pretty bad. The NYC store manager had me send it to her«for defect review», denied the smell, and literally smashed it into a too-small box to ship it back(I sent it in an ample box). It remains permanently crumpled, tags still on. Then she admitted that the vinyl could cause the smell. I am out three+ bills for a bag I cannot stand to be in the same room with – smells like a dead animal. Good design does not make up for rude attitude and products that are made from materials that pose a known health risk and do not have a materials label. Never again.

Love Orla Kiely. I have gone to the shop in London on each of my trips there. I was happy to find out that there was a store in NYC and got to visit on my last trip there. I couldn’t see anyone in the store and there was a chair in front of the door, so I wasn’t sure if it was open. But it was and I was able to get in there. The store was immaculate and the staff was super nice. I do wish there was more merchandise available(like all of the cute stuff online that you wish you could try on or just hold in your hands before buying. I wish they would open a store or two on the west coast(SF area please!)

I love Orla Kiely products recommended by a friend who lived in London before they even had presence in the States. Then, they the products showed up in Nordstrom, U. S boutique stores and selected products in Target. I’ve always ordered Orly Keily products online since better assortment. I only found out there was a store through Gilt City and used a certificate to apply to the products. I agree with the 1st reviewer — it felt lonely, quiet, not enough excitement. Also when I was about to try on clothes, I was directed to a bathroom(since they are renovating?) which felt weird and tainted, no feeling comfortable in the beautiful clothes that Orly Keily provides. If you don’t want to buy clothes there, the accessories are still presentable to purchase. At least you can touch and feel the real thing.

I had one awesome experience at this atelier in February — they were having a hefty sale and it felt like an open sunny store and I bought something for me and early birthday presents for two girlfriends. I returned last week while we were in New York, excited to visit again. The store felt sad and lonely, and as thought it were about to close. An area in the back that had previously had new paper products and coats was closed for customers. The service was helpful and there were lovely clothes to try on but nothing excited me. If you’re in SoHo and like Orla Kiely, it’s worth a visit.
