One of my favorite places in the city to grab a latte. They introduce a large variety of beans from around the world and have a great collection of mugs and other equipment for coffee.

Very good ice coffee and I love the doughnuts. Staff is very friendly. I really like this little hole in a wall.

You can taste the quality in this coffee. It’s the kind you don’t need anything in, no sweetener no milk. The taste is perfect and the sweetness comes from the coffee bean done right. If you want quality coffee then come here. I came in a Monday a little before 9 and it wasn’t too packed, about 4 people in front of me and the line went by fast. I was hoping to try the Doughnut Plant donuts here, but they have Dough donuts just like R&R. i still got a doughnut though hehe.

Blugh. sour coffee and their to-go cup has the spill-proofness of a shot glass. Regretting spending $ 3.50 here

This is some of the worst coffee I have ever had. So much so that I tossed it. I tried mt iced coffee and it tasted off. I asked for another and was quickly given a replacement at no charge. The second one tasted the same. It was just awful. Tasted somewhat bitter and just off. I knew if I drank it I would get a stomach ache.(and…yes, I am sure it wasnt the milk).

Good, solid coffee. Fast, friendly service. I would go here over Starbucks any time. I don’t love their espressos though, it’s light and acidic and it doesn’t go down well straight. I’m used to dark, caramely, full bodied espressos.

One of my favorite coffee chains in NYC. The taste and quality of their coffees and pastries are fantastic.(During the summer, my favorite things are an iced latte and pistachio cardamom bread). The baristas are also friendly and efficient. I haven’t experienced a «morning rush» that resulted in waiting more than a few minutes for my drink to be ready. Highly recommended!

I’m a girl who likes to get served. My coffee of course. I often get annoyed when all the coffee shop does is add the overpriced java in a paper cup and I have to make the magic happen at a side table. Not at Oren’s, they are a full service coffee house at a reasonable price. I told them exactly what I wanted and It was made to perfection. The coffee was true to the«Superior Bean» concept, it was not bitter and was actually rather smooth and since this is not my usual bean I had a nice rush that kept me going for at least 4 hours, how’s that for a high! Dear Employer, today’s productivity level is endorsed by Oren’s. I could not leave without indulging in a doughnut, dessert is my thang! The doughnut had a bread-like consistency covered in a sugary glaze of heaven, yummerz. The staff here were mild mannered and as courteous as you would expect from folks working the first shift at a coffee house. They are definitely running the show smoothly without management because they had no qualms playing Drake and Biggie dirty version rap like it was Bluegrass. The service was quick and I didn’t have to anxiously stand around a table waiting for«Miiaa!» to be called. Starting to think my usual might be overrated, this may be my new go to place for coffee.

You know that feeling when you *need* to get out of the office for a few minutes for some fresh air and a walk or else you’ll yell and scream and your co-workers will call Bellevue on you? No? Okay, sure… keep pretending nothing’s wrong… Anyway, when I need to take my afternoon constitutional AND get my afternoon coffee*, I head to Oren’s. They make a damn fine iced latte with almond milk.(I’ve also had their regular/daily roast and when you have it, you realize, ‘OH! Now this is what coffee should taste like!”) Yea, it(iced latte, large) can be a tad on the pricey side, but it’s a treat(for me) and these folks know what they’re doing. Also, the signs on the tip jar are usually pretty amusing, so, yes, you should tip them. *I’ve only had coffee here and I’ve only been in the afternoon, so I can’t vouch for the pastries or the morning rush, if there is one.

The coffee was flat and lacked punch. Could have been a bad batch, but my wife and I both thought the same thing.

Decent coffee. I’d rate DD A 0 or 1 star and starbucks a 2 star just for reference. Okay atmosphere people were very nice. They let me try their drip before I ordered it and it was good enough to pay 2.50 $ for a medium I’d come back for sure but not expect to be blown away. It’s a great alternative to DD or starbucks. Up date coming when I try the espresso.

I love the almond croissants made by Balthazar. The outside is covered in sliced almonds and is crunchy. The croissant it self is light, buttery, and airy. In the center there is this soft paste that is the best thing ever. My only problem is that they run out very quickly. At about 7:45am I got the last one. But it is still the best croissant ever!

I love this place. It’s small but they have serving coffee down to a science. I’m usually out within two minutes unless the line is long which would make it about 5. They serve a different blend of coffee every day. Most of coffee I tried were a little on the dark side. It’s something I’ve grown accustomed to. If you’re like me, coming from Forest Hills, where the forces do everything in their power to make your commute as long as possible with train traffic, sick passengers and signal problems, Oren’s coffee is the IV to help you through the rest of your day.

My coffee was bitter; to me I like lighter roast. Also they misjudged the steamed milk but my friends who like darker roasts said it is excellent. Next time I had tea and it was good. Service was always good and place is clean all the time.

This is the closest Oren’s to me and I am thrilled with it. I am pleased they opened a location in Lower Manhattan. I have been buying Oren’s coffee beans for years and always had to trek to the UES or Morningside Heights to buy their coffee beans. In a land oversaturated with starbucks and DD’s –Oren’s really stands out with it’s always fresh & delicious local coffee and very friendly laid back atmosphere. They also have wonderful always Fresh Ice Tea, no herbal this and that –just good old fashioned black iced tea. Sweets are decent– clearly they get them from a bakery, so come early for the freshest things. My last wish, please open a location in Brooklyn! Also I wish the hours here were a little later like their Columbia and NYU stores.

Why I love this Oren’s: the staff here are organized and coordinated, you’ll get your beverage fast and it’s made well. Everyone is friendly and the coffee is consistent and reliable. They also have goodies from doughnut plant!

This NYC café chain just opened their tenth location on the fast-commercializing little block of William St. just south of Fulton. The staff is super friendly, especially the one guy at the counter who calls everyone honey. And fast/efficient, too! Compared to nearby Blue Spoon( ) or R & R( ), there’s a less trendy feel to Oren’s, but you know they can still handle their coffee. Like, they could talk to you about pourovers and blooming and pulling the perfect shot, if you’re into that, but their pinkies won’t be up while doing it. I’ve only ever gotten lattes here, and they do the trick. Yes, Blue Spoon and R & R both use Intelligentsia beans, which makes the Chicago-y part of my heart smile, but whatever — we New Yorkers don’t have the patience for all that fuss all the time. More notably, a latte at Blue Spoon is $ 4.25; at Oren’s it’s $ 3.49. At R & R it’s $ 3.97 but the cup is a size smaller. Many of us can opt to nurse coffee snobbery but if it means an inability to appreciate a cup unless even the beans have their own brand name, what’s the point? Speaking of brands, Oren’s sells Balthazar pastries, just like Blue Spoon. Tons of shiny coffee accessories are on the shelves for sale, from Chemex to novelty mugs. There are bars where you can sip your coffee, but no comfortable seating — true to its surroundings, it’s a grab-and-go sort of place. Be sure to get a loyalty card — buy 12 drinks, get one free.

Other than the nearby Blue Spoon Coffee, there aren’t many choices for coffee in this neighborhood other than a Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts on every other block, so I was excited to see this new location of a smaller chain in the area. The main strength of this place though isn’t the coffee, but rather the baked goods they have, many of which are provided by the excellent Balthazar. They have a ton of the stuff you can get at the popular French restaurant, without having to go all the way there and wait on a long line with French people and tourists. The sticky bun is exceptionally good, as are the different varieties of breads and croissants. I went with a Chocolate Croissant on this visit($ 3), which was just as good as I remembered it was when I visited Balthazar. As for coffee, I was suckered into trying the Kenya Peaberry Coffee, since I saw mentioning it was a special iced coffee they were offering. I prefer my iced coffee less fruity and more like coffee, but it was ok. I will definitely be back to try some of their regular iced coffee and to get some more of the excellent baked goods.
