Staple of the neighborhood. Patties are always fresh and delicious. I know people who come from other boroughs for these patties. The dough is soft and the meat/​filling flavorful.

You have to try this patty! I love it, full of meats and veggies inside. Highly recommend!

LOVE this place. I work around the corner, and when nothing else seems satisfying at the moment, I can always count on this place to hit that spot. The price increased to 2.50 per patty, but still totally worth it, especially since they have Spinach patties now, which are very good, always warm and fresh. I’ve gone in and they have been between batches, which to me is always a good sign that people buy out the food. There has definitely been a line here a few times.
The patties definitely beat out the competitor across the street.
Also has totally introduced different types of Ginger and Ginseng drinks to me, which are also never disappointing.

Four stars because of the «décor» LOL. Go there and you’ll see what I mean. But it’s super cheap and the patties are super good — you can tell they are homemade. It’s tighter than a straight man in a gay bar, but you’re in and out in a snap! Just don’t get hit by the door as you order.

Craving a spicy snack when you’re near 145^th, head on over to the One Stop Patty Shop for a patty or two. Always hot, always spicy, always fulfilling. Whether beef or chicken, regular or jerked, I have always been pleased with the quality of their patties. Pick it up, plan to eat home, but we know that one will be gone on the walk back. A bargain in my hood.

My favorite snack place. Jerk chicken patty $ 2 got a perfect crust with a super flavorful Jerk chicken (more sauce than meat) inside. Ginger beer $ 3 is a homemade ginger juice without too much sugar. It is very refreshing and spicy.
I tried beef patty as well. It was good. I preferred jerk chicken patty for its big flavor.

They are rarely/​never open. The signage though in their defense is always apparent.
I’m sure this place when open is an institution to the locals.

Quite slimply the BEST Jamaican patties in the city. Beyond the spicy beef, jerk chicken and veggie they also have amazing spinach patties and curry chicken patties. Everything is home-​made and you can taste it. They also have fresh home made ginger juice (not that over-​sugared ‘ginger beer’ you can get everywhere else) — this stuff puts the burn on — sooo good. Been going here 6+ years and will never stop! And did I mention the patties are under $ 2? Amazing.

The best beef patties in NYC. I grew up in the neighborhood and if you are searching for a good beef patty this is it. The staff is friendly and the food is hot and cheap. Every time I bit into these patties I can taste the spices and tender crust. Mmmm

I cannot remember the last time I paid $ 1.85 for a beef patty. And a beef patty is a not a simple thing to get right. Each time I bite into one from an unfamiliar place I cringe, hold my breath and chew gingerly, because you learn all you need to know from one bite. Is it the best patty ever? No of course not, but it works for a fix, served piping hot, with a firm but flaky crust and puts hunger at bay the way a true patty should.
No seating, you walk in, pick up and go. Also, I will be back for the st. mary’s banana chips and exelsior water crackers they have in the display case.

awesome patties! a friend and i were waiting at the bus stop for the slow bx 19 bus, when hunger struck. after looking around at the stores on the block we spotted this shop and went in to check it out. I got the mild cheesy beef patty and a lemonade which was soooo good! it killed the hunger and wasn’t super greasy like some of the patties you get from the pizza shop. i’ve lived in the neighborhood for years and never bothered to stop in this shop, i’m glad i did yesterday though! i’ll definitely be a repeat customer for the patty and lemonade.

Sorry Food Hut across the street. Your patties and customer service are less than desirable. Until you can get up to their standards. This is the place I’ll be going for my West Indian patties. All theri patties are YUM-​O!

I’ve only tried the beef patties, on one occasion. I thought they were very good — nice spices and much more filing than I thought they’d be. The lady working there was really nice and helpful.
When I was there, she had just finished baking ginger bread, so the whole place smelled AWESOME. I didn’t buy any, but I should have.
They have patties of: beef, chicken, and jerk chicken. I also saw some baked goods.

The food here is good. The fish is better down the hill at Sunshine, but I think the patties here reign supreme, especially the calaloo. So tasty. So cheap. And the juices, as mentioned before, are surprisingly good. On the downside, the staff is slow as molasses and about as friendly as Jesse Helms in a gay bar. Paying can take forever because they rarely remember what anything costs. Sometimes, they also forget what you ordered. A minute ago. I have my suspicions, but Unilocal is a family place, so I’ll just say that I bet it’s a relaxing work environment. It’s okay, though. You eventually get it sorted out and get to eat your yummy patty.

This place literally saved my life last night. After leaving the gym later than planned I discovered that there really weren’t a lot of food options near me at 9:30 at night. The markets were all closed, I had used up my emergency ground turkey stash the previous night on some savory tacos, and I really didn’t feel like cooking anyway. Then I remembered the Patty Stop which I had seen but not tried and went over to see if they were still open. Thankfully they were (until 10:00 each night) and I got three patties and a ginger beer for $ 5.24. Now that is a bargain. I ordered one beef and two jerk patties which was enough for 1 and ½ dinners (they also had curry patties). I favored the jerk myself but that’s because I am a junky for the heat. The ginger beer was the perfect accompanament and the breads and other caribbean products they sell there looked good as well. Tasty cheap snacks and it gets an extra star for just «being there for me.»
