Wow what a cool and no-​frills place! Stumbled upon this bar based on Unilocal reviews of bars in the area and wanted to give it a try. This is a no-​frills cool bar with affordable drinks and a great atmosphere! I like the seating area in the front as well (although more comfy couches/​seats would be helpful rather than ottomans). Overall, this is definitely the opposite of a one-​star bar, if you ask me. I would definitely return!

I went here on a Thursday night to meet up with a friend for a drink. Neither of us were terribly familiar with the neighborhood, but she was at a party nearby so we decided to try One Star and were not disappointed. I walked in and found a couple of seats at the bar with no problem. There was a moderate crowd and good music. Prices were pretty great — $ 10 for a Bulleit rocks– and the service was pleasant and present. We had a great time and I will definitely be coming back for a second round!

Literally one of the best bars in the city, and so conveniently next to my job. Name night is awesome (which if your name is on the board that night you get 1 $ beers all night SWEET) you will fall in love with the staff and will definitely always want to come back. Skip the club, you’re much better off going here! PLUS they have an 8 $ special which includes beer and a shot of whiskey (SUPER SWEET) def recommend this bar!!!

This place is awesome. I would describe it as a classy dive bar. But you can’t complain when you can get a hendrik’s and tonic for $ 11 in a pint glass. And there are strong pours, so 2 should be good enough for anyone. They have other specials too (can of beer and whiskey shot for $ 8.
There are seats in the back.
No food here, but feel free to bring in food from outside.

Came here to grab a drink with a friend.
They were having Trivia Night, so no-​music. That’s absolutely fine because we wanted to participate in the game. But boy… the trivia was too damn hard.
The questions were either:
A) Super specific. LIKE SUPER SPECIFIC.
B) For old people. Anyone below the age of 25 would have a hard time figuring it out.
This place has great prices on their drinks but I’d recommend their Trivia Nights cater to both the younger and the older crowd!

Me and my girls were bar hopping and stumbled upon this place. Great scene, low key, cheap drinks and good music playing on the jukebox. We walked it an they were playing Rap and hip hop. We ordered margaritas for only $ 8! Will definitely come back again. If you are looking for a chill laid back place this is it!

I really love this place. If anyone ever wants to make last-​minute plans to go somewhere for a drink, this is always at the top of my list, because the prices are truly great, and it’s so close to where I work!
I always get the Vanilla Porter, which is a freakin’ delicious beer, AND it’s only $ 6. That’s pretty ridiculous, in the best way. I don’t feel guilty or like I have to apologize to my wallet when I get more than one drink. Bless this place.

Kind of a hipster place, but a cool place in Chelsea. Low lighting in main area, brighter in the back room. Great bar top and bar face, though no rail. Wooden bar top with square rail. Straight bar with a couple great curves (not snaking though). Middle bar back contains mirrors with beer specials that are hard to read from angle (you’re not drunk, it’s the mirrors). Bottle shelves and tvs on either side. Padded butt bar stools with wood back support
Back room for overflow or very large group. Brick on east wall. Bar on west wall. Capable bartenders. Happy hour special includes a beer and whiskey for $ 8.

This spot is a true Chelsea dive bar.
No food, but what it does have is: cheap drinks, good service, dim lighting, multiple flat-​screen TVs, boisterous after-​work crowd… and on occasion, pretty gay boyssss.
This is definitely not a One Star bar.

Great service. The bar tenders are always friendly and attentive and the drinks are very reasonably priced. The crowd is fairly mixed, mostly young professionals peppered with characters from the neighborhood. It’s a good place to hang out with friends and relax.

Was expecting a one star bar, but actually got a three star bar, so I’m giving it four stars just to annoy the owners since they failed to live up to my and their expectations.
Actually I love this place and have been coming here for about a year and a half. John and Tony do a great trivia here Sunday nights. Cheap drinks, awesome bartender, nice bathrooms. Order whatever food you want from nearby restaurants. Great for parties, but you can’t reserve space. I live in a different borough and I go out of my way for this place. You should too, but not when I’m there, because other people are the worst.

Such a good, solid bar! As everyone has been posting, the prices here are fantastic considering it’s in Chelsea — $ 6 for craft beers, $ 5 tall boys, and $ 8 beer-​shot deals. Consider its dive bar prices, One Star’s being spacious and clean is a pleasant surprise. They have number of TV’s for watching sports and plenty of seating both at the bar and at tables in the back. Next time I’m back in the area, definitely going here for my late night drink.

We had so much fun playing trivia here on Saturday night. Because of the name, we expected this place to be a dirty dive bar, but it was actually shockingly nice, clean, and pleasant to hang out in (and I’m kind of bougie, so that says a lot). The trivia was totally a blast. We sat at the bar near the hosts, and it was great to joke around with them between rounds. Many of the teams are veterans, but we still had a great time as n00bs, so don’t be intimidated!

Eh. This place was okay. Prices were extremely fair for the Chelsea area (~$ 6-​$ 7). I ordered a cherry cider and it was delicious.
However, it’s a very bare bones place. The entire space is painted black, which makes One Star seem devoid of character. There’s plenty of seating at the bar and there’s a back room with a pool table from what I can tell. I wouldn’t make the effort to venture out here again, but if you happen to be in the area, this place is good for a chill night out if you want reasonably priced brews.
