Superrrr tiny, but if you can get a spot(i love the window seat) you’re in for a treat. This is definitely a slightly upscale dive bar. But their drinks are great, so are the prices — I’ve caught 3 comedy shows there, and have never been disappointed. Love that they have a selection of games for patrons to play.

The place is tiny and might I say, hip more than dive? I noticed that it was getting hard to move around inside by 8PM on Friday, but at 6:30PM there was barely anyone there. The bartender(Russian girl, forgot her name…) was just the right amount of social and my total tab was $ 40 with tip for 4 beers and 4 shots — I think my friend and I were sufficiently starting to get turnt on a totally fair dime. Fun place and will likely return if I’m in the area.

Awesome drinks, great music, friendly bartenders. Definitely one of my new favorite dive bars in the city. The space is VERY small(the whole joint fits MAYBE20 – 30 people), so not ideal for larger groups, but when it’s not too crowded, it’s a fantastic spot.

There was a comedy show there and it was pretty good, it’s just incredibly narrow. Like the bar, not the comedy. The kind of place where you’re apologizing for being in the way but you wanna be chill so you act like it’s not bugging you but if one more person bumps into you you’re gonna flip.

2 and a half stars… Meh. The cocktail I got was sickly sweet(as was most of what they had on the menu). Had to force it down. Music was too loud to carry a conversation and the quarters too tight not too be in the lap of the person next to you. Seems like mostly a local bar– most folks seemed to know each other. For anyone else the appeal is limited.

Pretty cute little spot! The bartender was friendly, but was out of the ingredients to make me the first 2 drinks I chose, so i finally was like«well, what DO you have?» The drink i got was pretty good in the end, but still.

Cost: Average Vibes: Cozy Décor: Dark, fluorescent lit Location: 3⁄5 «First timer» Walked into a comedy show upon arriving. It’s a laid back, fluorescent lit-dark room with a good tequila selection. What more do you need? Definitely worth a visit. Could be a 4 – 5 star bar depending on the comics that night.

Found this bar randomly. Now it’s my favorite bar period. Bartenders are all awesome!!!(Jared and Max specifically) the rest are great too. They have random card against humanity games, open comedy mic nights, place feels comfortable and chill 100% of the time. Cocktails are delicious. Aesthetics are pleasant as f**k. Definitely have a drink here!!!

Old Man Hustle is a tiny, unpretentious little dive bar and I could not have loved it more. Five dollar beer and shot specials, service with a smile and free microwave popcorn. What more do you need?

Recently, I went on a quest to find bars that I had not visited before in the lower east side. Nothing fancy, I enjoy a good dive bar if it has a pleasant bar tender(and even some that don’t). I found Old Man Hustle on Unilocal and decided that I needed to give it a try. Let me start by saying that the bar is *tiny*. There were only a group of three there before us so we took over the back corner(10 of us). Old Man has a decent can selection for such a small spot. They had a variety that allowed for everyone to pick something different that they enjoyed. On top of that, there is a great happy hour special that included a dollar well shot for every beer purchased. We cashed in on those immediately. They have a little platform area with benches that the girls took over while the guys pounded shots for the birthday boy. The bartender was super nice and friendly. She was even patient when we were trying to order rounds of all different drinks. Overall, this place was a great way to start the night.

So this bar is pretty small, Seats like 10 people tops, I have no idea how they do a comedy night. But whatever. The bartender knows his drinks! He was really amazing and I didnt have to wait 20 minutes for him to make it– classic NY style– so thats a plus. Reasonable prices.

Came here on Halloween night. It’s small and has a nice atmosphere. Didn’t stay much time, but I’ll definitely be back to check it out with more time.

I went to this bar during the last night of my trip to NYC. I went with an old friend I haven’t seen in months. This place was one of the highlights of my trip. We went on a really late Sunday night. The bartender was a great guy and the people that were there were amazing. The prices are good and it was an overall welcoming environment. I can’t wait to go back to NYC and visit this bar again. Definitely recommend for anyone that is in the area.

Probably the tiniest bar in all of Manhattan lol. Heard about this place on… craigslist! Lol. I just so happened to be looking for something and came across a free comedy show. My boyfriend(at the time) and I loved comedy shows so we decided to take a trip here after I got off work one day. Everyone at this place was awesome. The bartender and a couple of us seated at the bar decided to get into a game of «Cards Against Humanity». That was the first time I had ever played and It was so fun! The comedy portion of the night was great. Most of the acts were pretty funny. 1 or 2 of them were okay but still enjoyable. Definitely worth stopping in for the show. Its a great way to have a fun night during the week.

Old Man Hustle is a charming hole-in-the-wall, the kind of place that can only exist in New York. While a realtor might describe the condensed floorplan as «cozy,» it’s small size creates a genuine feeling of intimacy for you and your friends. Yes, you may have to fight your way to the bar on a busy weekend, but you will find it worth the effort. A bar is only as good as the bartender, and Old Man Hustle does not disappoint. They have an amazing staff! The bartenders are friendly, helpful, and pour a stiff drink. Plus, it’s one of the least expensive bars on the Lower East Side!!! You’re missing out if you do not take advantage of their beer and shot special. They also run amazing stand up shows throughout the week, making it one of the best places to grab a drink and catch an amazing show without having to buy tickets in Times Square. Their Wednesday night open mic is a must-go if you’re a comedian – one of the best bar mics to get on in Manhattan. If you find yourself in the area and you forget to visit, you are doing yourself a disservice. Old Man Hustle is a definite five-star bar.

Oh Old Man Hustle you are always a place that I go to and wake up the next day with a story to tell! I have been there now a few times and I have always left with a smile on my face. The first time I went my friend for a stand up comedy open mic and I didn’t know what to expect, I ended up being very happy with the open mic. The place is so small most people congregated outside to smoke a cigarette and have small talk. The bar itself is tiny bit intimate enough for a memorable date. Another night I went the bartender was wasted and everyone their was wearing all black leather and I even saw some people in drag. It was two completely opposite types of crowds on different days … welcome to NYC! Try this place and make memories.
