This is a review of the emergency and pediatric unit. Fantastic people. Great and caring nurses and doctors. Our little girl had a terrible stomach flu a a had been throwing up since 7am. By 3pm we were in the emergency room after a trip to an Urgent care. The nurses did everything to calm us(we were told she would likely need intravenous fluids) and after seeing a doctor were given a nausea medication and within 20 minutes she had color back in her face and could keep fluids down. They were truly kind and attentive and made our daughter and us feel at ease. They even made arrangements to get us liquid medication for the nausea medication that is tough to find and it was 6pm on a Saturday night. They even brought some for us from the pharmacist before they left for the day. So generous as we were out of towners. The doctor even called us the next morning to check on us the next day. Really impressed with them.

(this review is for the outpatient/day surgery center.) I haaaate doctors’ offices, and hospitals, and especially anesthesia, and was really dreading having surgery. But as soon as I walked in here, everyone was incredibly polite, warm and friendly, and it went SUCH a long way. Once we got into the main area past the waiting room, there were definitely some long waits, so I was really glad I brought a book, for sure. But otherwise, everyone was extremely professional – all the surgery staff, including the two anesthesiologists(the«real» one and the resident/student one) came by to introduce themselves, explain to me and my partner exactly what was happening, and to double-triple-quadruple check EVERYTHING, which made me feel incredibly reassured that they really had it together. Even the little things – like, I had to take my glasses off before going into the surgery area, and one of the nurses led me down the hall since I was blind as a bat, and didn’t leave me behind or let me trip over anything. By the time I got into the room, everyone was actually commenting on how relaxed I was! Aftercare was phenomenal – they were in no hurry to toss me out of there, and really wanted to make sure I was in good shape and not having any issues. They were really polite and wonderful to my partner, and brought him in to see me as much as possible. They even took down his cell number from him beforehand so that if he stepped out, they could call him and tell him how I was doing. I swear I didn’t go 10 minutes without being checked on and they were like ninjas; the minute I started feeling thirsty or whatever, someone would pop up, haha. I was surrounded by patients with far bigger medical issues than mine, and I saw them all treated with warmth and respect. My *only* complaint came when it was actually time to leave – the aide or whoever was responsible for wheeling me out of the hospital was heinous. She argued with the doctors and nurses and had a really horrible attitude, even tried to refuse to show me where the pharmacy was after the doctor and I both asked her to. My partner was with us, and she turned her back on him and shoved me out of there so quickly that he actually got lost, and she refused to slow down or wait for him. Then, to add insult to injury(literally, I suppose), she kept running me into stuff – doors, corners, and at one point she tried to take a shortcut THROUGH someone else’s recovery area and actually ran me into another post-surgery patient who was lying in bed there. It was absolutely ridiculous and I was pretty horrified. I’m sad that’s the last experience I had before I left the center, because everyone else we dealt with that day was phenomenal.
