Seems as if the pork belly sandwich is the most popular so it’s what I decided to try first, and yeah– it’s good, not great but good… very good even. So why did I give this place 5 stars? Because on my next visit I decided to try the BBQ brisket… WOWZERS! Man oh man, talk about a bite from the Gods! By far the best sandwich I have ever eaten! To me the pork belly, which u can smell walking by on the street, is what lures you in but the brisket is what will make u fall in love. They also have a salmon sandwich(it’s seasonal) — and definitely something I would highly recommend!

Today I got a Peppercorn Catfish sandwich from Num Pang. It was difficult to chew. The fish was r-a-w. RAW. Pure flesh. Not flaky. Left a bad taste in my mouth, literally. I won’t be going back again.

The brisket sandwich is heaven! The service is acceptable but not proactive. Had to wait 10 minutes because they were changing cashiers. I was not in a rush but they could just have given the order to the kitchen and let me pay when they had sorted the cashier change. I was the only one there at the time.

The peppercorn catfish and pork belly sandwiches were well seasoned and tasted delicious. However we were quite disappointed with the coconut Shrimp sandwich we ordered because whoever prepared it overcooked the shrimps therefore the shrimps tasted dry and rubbery. Initially we were excited about ordering the coconut shrimp sandwich since the reviews by other Unilocalers were quite positive but after trying it I wouldn’t recommend it. Overall I would definitely go back for the catfish and pork belly sandwiches again but will avoid the coconut shrimp sandwich. The line can get quite long during lunch time and waiting time varies depending on what you ordered.

Where do I begin… It started after I placed my order on Grubhub… 2 orders of the pulled pork sandwich, an order of the pork belly and a chicken chimi salad. I receive the text that says my order will arrive at anywhere between 1:20 — 1:30 pm. I placed this order at 11:54 am and was not going to wait over an hour for my food. As such, I dial Num Pang and ask if I can change my order from delivery to pick up and how long it was going to take. They began by asking me my name, which I had to give them several times before they finally understood what I was saying. Then the woman says 15 minutes and hangs up. Hanging up on a customer is not appropriate but a fifteen minute wait tops the 1.5 hour wait. Upon arriving at Num Pang, the inside is overflowing with people and near impossible to reach the counter. At the counter, I ask if the order is ready and the person calling numbers tells me to wait a moment. She proceeds to grab the bag behind her and hands it over, but this is not my order. She asked me if the order is under Tiffany and I said no and loudly says, «I do not have time for this today.» Excuse me, but you are working in a customer service environment and the attitude is absolutely subpar and not appreciated. Then someone comes over and asked what was wrong, in which the woman who initially handed me the wrong food, rolled her eyes and moved over. I explained that this was not my order and she asked what the correct order is. She says please wait five minutes. Meanwhile the customer next to me also receives the WRONG order too and they had to redo her meal as well. Num Pang is a great sandwich shop without a doubt. However, today service and overall food was not exemplary. It was horrible. When I received my food and returned to the office, the food was still hot, but the bun was soggy. The presentation was sloppy. The sandwiches were falling apart. They lacked sauce. Flavor was there, but overall a sore disappoint today.

I didn’t realize this place was a chain until I saw it in another part of the city. They are known for their sandwiches, so I went ahead and tried one of their chicken options. It was a decent sandwich which different ingredients than your normal sub shop. I liked that part the most! The downfall to this place is that the service is subpar; none of the employees made eye contact and usually answered with one word responses or by pointing. This is expected of strangers while walking around, but it is not acceptable in the service industry. Additionally, I wish this place had some seating. There is not even one chair in the place, only a stand up bar. Can’t blame them for this though since I’m sure every inch of space matters in a place like NYC. Still maintain that the food was good though.

This place should be called Yum Pang. The bread is always just right, soft inside and pleasantly crusty outside. Their sandwich recipes delight the taste buds, you could never say they lack in flavor or offend your mouth in any way. Most recently I’ve had the tiger shrimp and the tofu sandwiches. Both were delicious. If you are in the mood for a sandwich and not some boring blt or other typical sandwich, you must have num pang! Note there is no seating inside and sometimes the wait can be a while to order in the line, but totally worth it!

Ordered from Num Pang on a busy work day and this has got to be one of my most satisfying mid-town order-ins. I ordered the coconut tiger shrimp sandwich and it was just beautifully cooked with such amazing flavors. For someone who likes flavorful but spicy fare, this mild dish was very fresh and just exploding with well balanced flavor! I did not reach out for any seasoning. I would recommend this one! The blood orange lemonade was alright, nothing to sing about. I was a little miffed about the delivery charges. Free delivery is only upto 5th ave and I’m on 6th. Wonderful introduction to Cambodian style sandwiches!

Asian-inspired, these sandwiches are some of the absolute best in the city. It’s a fast-casual shop with fresh ingredients and quality sandwich combinations. If you’re around for happy hour, 3 of their signature sandwiches go for $ 6 including the pork, which is maybe the best thing I’ve had this month.($ 2 – 3 savings) Busy lunch spot with locations around the city for GOOD reason. Not many places make sandwiches this good.

While staying near by on a work trip, I decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. I went with the 5 spice pork belly sandwich which was fantastic. I was actually pretty impressed with the belly. The spices were tasty and it was not too fatty at all. The belly combined with the pickled pear, cucumber, carrots, cilantro and chili mayo was a really great combination. My only minor issue was that I was expecting a little bit of a better roll… especially since I hear that they are fantastic. No big deal, it was still yummy… I just think my expectations were a bit high. All in all… great cambodian sandwich shop!

This place is a quick no frills sandwich shop. I came here twice already and got the pulled duroc pork sandwich. Got the sandwich to-go once and the other time I dined in since I was starving. The sandwich was made to order and it was amazing! Full of flavor and the sandwich is a bit messy to eat. The pork and sauce kept falling out of the bread. If I’m in the area, I’ll probably try their other sandwiches. Fun fact: «Num pang» means bread in Thai.

Why is this place not available anywhere above 48th street?! It’s almost unfair considering how godly their sandwiches are. For the 41st street location, you enter a tent-like contraption and order. Usually, there’s no line when I go there. And yes, $ 9 may seem expensive for a sandwich, but to be honest — it was totally filling for me. Plus, if you download their LevelUp app, that sandwich will run you about $ 6-$ 7(totally worth it). If you order the first item, the pulled pork with spiced honey, it will usually come out fast. I’ve only ever had to wait five minutes for lunch from here. But be careful if you’re wearing your nicest suit or dress because it gets really messy. And yes, I’m talking about from the moment it’s handed to you, be careful. These oily sandwiches are put in paper containers that leak like crazy onto the paper bag that they give you. It won’t be dripping, but it will spread and be smelly. Once you get it back to your desk, be sure to have a fork, hand sanitizer, and a bunch of napkins. You will need it. Of course, fork is optional if you want to use your hands. The pork, pickled carrots and cilantro WILL fall out so be sure to have napkins to save your desk, and of course the messy look on your face after.

A coworker recommended this place so I decided to check it out. Ordered the Five-Spice Glazed Pork Belly sandwich, decided to postpone going back to work, and ate it standing up at the small amount of available counter space. Holy moly it was good. The pork belly was fatty(as expected), but super flavorful and delicious. The pickled veggies and asian pear definitely cuts the fat and everything comes together as one mouth-watering handful of goodness. Good thing I wasn’t trying to impress anyone because I was inhaling the sandwich as the sauces were smearing across face and dripping all over the place. Super attractive. Don’t plan on hanging around because there’s no place to sit and counter space is limited. Oh and definitely grab some of those wet napkins — you’re going to need them.

Never in my life have I ever had Cambodian food, so I was a little hesitant to try it when my team at work recommended it. I have tried the raw kale and apple salad, the pulled duroc pork sandwich, the hoisin meatball sandwich but my favorite was definitely the hot and sour chicken and rice soup. Be warned, it’s spicy but soo good!

No customization allowed — they are strict about it here. Management will not allow you to make any substitutions or changes to satisfy the desires of the customers. If you don’t like cilantro, mayo, cucumber or carrots, good luck. The staff here is inattentive and rude. The cashiers appear annoyed if you have a question. Service is slow, as expected. It takes forever for people in front of me to order(only one cashier) and then another 15 ~20 minutes for them to call my number for me to pick up my sandwiches. This is not a quick grab and go place. Once I ordered a side of the Cambodian slaw along with my sandwich and they completely forgot to add it to my order! The sandwiches are not your typical choice of Vietnamese sandwiches. They are small and Americanized. I could have had the same flavor going to a barbeque place and putting the meats in French baguette with some pickled carrots and vegetables.

I know Num Pang is all about their sandwiches, but I’ve never actually had a sandwich. I always get a salad, and I’ve gotten the chimi chicken salad a handful of times now and I now enjoy it. I won’t have it very often but it’s like an acquired taste for me. I just don’t like their«no modifications» rule — which it clearly reads as being applied to their sandwiches, NOT their salads. Otherwise, write«no modifications» PERIOD. Don’t specify a type and then apply it across the board. I just hate cilantro and thought that could be taken out very easily. Nope. No can do. I always take about 5 – 7 little packs of sriracha — and yes, I use them all. I’ve heard enough great things about their sandwiches, but no one has said that they’re all that authentic. SO loves their skirt steak or brisket sandwiches. He gobbles it up in 10 seconds tops, but it’s not all that filling. As for the salad? I’m not a big girl and I can finish that salad and still go for some more food, so the portions are definitely small for the price. They gave me more chicken this time, so I’ll stop whining. It’s a hit or miss with the amounts they give for salad, and I’m all about consistency, so it looks like I’m not increasing my 2.5−3 star rating.

Well seasoned but greasy and a bit expensive. Num Pang is a bit stingy on accommodating restrictions when it comes to the sandwiches. They smear butter on the bread as they toast it. Personally, I’d do without it to make my meal lighter(and to watch those calories). That aside, the pork belly is tender and juicy. It’s a handy delivery option to have, but not one I pursue all that often.

This is the only place I went to twice during my recent 8 day visit to NYC. I had their 5-spice Pork Belly sandwich which is awesome and my clear favorite. The flavor and texture combinations are brilliant. The bread was fresh and tasty too. I also had their bbq brisket sandwich which was still really good and hit the spot on my way to JFK. There is a nice little courtyard a stone’s throw away where you can sit and enjoy your fantastic sandwich. Their lemon gingerade is homemade and the perfect compliment to their sandwiches. In addition to the great flavors, tenderness and perfection to which they cook their meats, I love how generous they are with the portion. They don’t skimp you on the meat which many places do making the $ 8.75-$ 9.50 cost for one of their sandwiches easier to stomach. Service is nice too. This is now a must stop whenever I’m in town.

When I first tried Num Pang, I thought to myself, «Oh, it’s just another bahn mi place.» I was wrong. First of all, Num Pang is Cambodian baguette sandwiches. Second, Num Pang is probably the best asian baguette sandwich I’ve ever had. Each item on the menu is legitimately crafted from an artisan chef. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but here are a few of my favorites: — Five-Spice Glazed Pork Belly with Pickled Asian Pear($ 8.75): This is my go-to sandwich when I’m here. The bread is hot and crunch on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. The pork belly is well-seasoned and cooked to perfection with the perfect meat-to-fat ratio. The pickled pear is like the cherry on top of everything; it really complements the sandwich. — Peppercorn Catfish with House Made Sweet Soy Sauce($ 8.75): The catfish was something that I tried on a whim on day because they were out of pork belly, and it was amazing! The catfish is prepared well with peppercorn seasoning which tastes really good. The soy sauce that they put on top of it is so freaking good too. After discovering this place, it was my go-to lunch spot at work. Their food is the triple threat of cheap, delicious, and filling. Do you know how hard that is to find in Midtown Manhattan? I highly recommend this place to everyone.

The grilled corn with chipotle mayo and coconut flakes on top. YUM. I enjoyed this more than the sandwich I ordered. The coconut flakes on top of the corn with the mix of the chipotle mayo really was perfectly spicy and a sweet kick with the coconut. The pork belly sandwich was alright. It was more bread than I expected and the bread was kind of hard. But overall, pretty good! I got chipotle yogurt in the sandwich so it was nice to have something to make it a little less spicy. The pork belly was soft, but not the best I’ve had? Definitely would order the grilled corn again. Staff are super nice and very friendly. I don’t like cilantro and the staff said I could not request for it off. But just as I was leaving, she reminded me that it was still on the sandwich and i just picked it off before leaving.

Had the porkbelly sandwitch, very good flavor! The porkbelly is very tender. The food comes out fast. Great place to grab a quick breakfast/lunch. However, the drinks are a little bit overpriced.
