Stumbled upon Nolita Wine Merchants while walking around Nolita/Soho last week. This place is super chic and sleek and by far the best looking liquor store I’ve been to! The selection of wines is equally as superb as the design. Notably, everything I saw was middle range to upper range which spoke highly of the place and their taste! The back wall display was rather nice: an array of bottles handpicked by the staff. My BF and I walked away with a bottle of Castellare di Castellina Chianti 2013 and Moissenent Bonnard White Burgundy 2013. We had signed up to the mailing list and immediately after, was informed of their cash back program — just email address required. I most certainly will be back!

Elegant aesthetics with equal service(Monica-owner & Wilson). Both, unbeknownst to the other, gave me similar suggestions within my price point. Although they didn’t have any to taste, they separately, then collectively suggested new recommendations within my palate structure. This place is sexy. If they had tapas, it would be a great 1st date place. I turned it into one because The Hubs was in tow. Will DEFINITELY be back!

This is a beautiful wine shop in Nolita — I loved the sleek, uncluttered design. They also have labels that are from smaller importers/distributors and I really appreciate that — to me it shows that they really care about what they stock and that they’re not just going for the big, well-known brands that are often over-priced and lower in quality. Wish I lived nearby — it would be my regular shop!

Owner was more than gracious in handling the issue I previously reviewed. I love coming here for wine recommendations and tastings. They’ve even started carrying some bourbon and whiskey, which makes me equally giddy.

This is my favorite go to wine shop in Nolita. The staff is super knowledgeable. I love the way they always remember the wine I got last week. I guess if they can remember all those wines names they can remember my name and favorites as well. If you want exceptional local and specialty grape wines they always surprise and delights. I recommend going there Thursday evenings for the weekly wine tastings.

We came here while we were walking through Soho on a Sunday. They had a wine tasting going on between 4 – 6 pm and we decided to check it out. This place is really nicely set up. There are wooden racks that hold the wines. The places has a really new wooden smell — although this place has been open for a few years now. The wines are all organized by the various regions that they are grown in, which makes it easy to navigate through the store. The thing that really drew our eye was the back wall which carried all these different colored roses, which really made the shelf pop and make the place look very aesthetically appealing. There was a wine tasting going on when we walked in. For the tasting, there was a white, a red and a prosecco, all from Italy. The prosecco was really nice and light. The red was called the Odoardi Savuto 2009 — this was really light on the palette for a red especially and it had these subtle floral notes. Typically, I don’t like reds because they tend be dry but this has was a nice light, floral red, which really you could pair with any dish that isn’t super bold or spicy. The white they had for the tasting was the Ancarani Centesimino — this was very summer white, a great pairing with cold foods. One of the things that I really liked about this place was the price point of the wines, all the wines that we tasted were in the $ 20 range. Very reasonable, and there were lot of great options in the $ 20-$ 30 range. The person who was conducting the wine tasting was not only very helpful and knowledgeable about the wines, but she was not pretentious, something that really irks me about wine sommeliers. Overall, I would really recommend trying out this store either for the tasting or if you are looking for a reasonably priced wine if you are in the Soho area.

I enjoy going to this wine shop. The man who was working was happy to give me recommendations for low priced wines, and I loved what he picked out. Very friendly, classy vibe in the shop.

Great service, friendly and helpful. Solid selection and willing to provide room temp and chilled bottles. Gave excellent recommendations for champagne and prosecco. I could not ask for more in a shop. Highly worth a stop for your next wine adventure.

What an attractive and interesting wine shop. Very well staffed and a professional but unintimidating attitude. Lots of novel and well curated selections. If you’re lucky, you’ll stumble upon a tasting.

Went in to browse as we were waiting for another guest to arrive for our reservation at the restaurant next door. The gentleman inside was very helpful and gave us some thoughts of the wines he liked, not in a pushy way. We eventually picked out a something moderately priced. The store is beautifully characterized using wood tone cellar from floor to ceiling. A great addition to the neighborhood.
