A little pricey for the portions but the food was AMAZING. The ceviche tacos were delicious and the tuna tataki in cilantro dressing was to die for. The bartenders were all over the place so I ended up having three bartenders taking my drink and food orders which got confusing. Also didn’t know who my 20% tip went to. The décor and vibe of the place is super trendy and overall I had a great experience.

Stopped in for bite post-office work, with colleagues and coverage. We snagged a couple of seats at the bar up-front; the seating in the back and upstairs was all accounted for already(fully reserved). The bar was quiet at 5p, and quickly became very crowded. Lots of well-dressed patrons mixed and mingled at the bar while grabbing food or waiting on tables. Lots of small bites shared at the table. Service was quick and efficient, with a lot of plate changes and quick with the drinks. Mixed cocktails had different levels, the last one I had tasted but a bitter musk — not a fun drink at all. Better off with some sake, in my opinion. * Rock Shrimp Tempura Creamy Spicy Sauce — excellent, though not that spicy * Seafood ceviche was sharp and a tinge of spice; a good start to the meal overall * Had a salad that was a mix of seafood and seaweed(not sure of the name) — it wasn’t memorable enough to remember the details * Black Cod with Miso — a favorite of those at the table, thick crisp at the edges cuts with a glaze of simple white miso — a little less miso than I would have liked(I love miso), but cooked well * Kobe Beef Dumplings — not on the menu, but we asked, and they had a few leftover — we devoured them, and agreed these were readily the best part of the meal * Sushi — many fresh cuts of sushi. While not quite as well-prepared like the dedicated sushi bars(Nakazawa, Gari, Yasuda), these were still good and had a marked simplicity compared to many of the more fusion dishes here. The uni, in particular, was very fresh and briny like being fresh from the sea * Dessert: A bento box which was a chocolate brownie with some sauce on the side * Dessert: Banana Soy Toban — much better than the bento box, a caramelized banana with a few nuts and in a sweet, but not too heavy sauce Come here for the food other than the sushi. You are better off getting their unique dishes instead of the ordinary choices. If you can, reserve a table for the view upstairs. The bar gets quite crowded and I had number of people bump into me while I was eating. The seating on bar cubes over low tables also makes you constantly bent over, not particularly comfortable when getting up after 2−3hr of eating & drinks.

The décor was nice, staff was friendly. Was easy to get in with short notice reservation tonight. My hubby has been here before and warned me that the sashimi/sushi was meh.(We are from Seattle and have fabulous fresh fish) Here is my review below: Large sake-chose the dryer option vs sweet. Very good. Warm mushroom salad– nice portion and tasty. Crunching rice with avocado– simple and good. Miao black cod– delicious Beef tenderloin toban– ordered medium rare. Cooked just right… meat was served in cast iron type pan so must remove and plate meat or it will keep cooking. There was too much sauce for my taste, I prefer dry presentation. So, this was my least favorite dish. Dessert– Bento box– it ok… warm chocolate soufflé with little scoop green tea.

Nobu 57th is always a solid choice for great food, drinks and fun ambiance. Good for business, family and friends. However, I like the TriBeCa location better for slightly better service and food quality. Atmospheres are very different in two locations: TriBeCa — quiet and elegantly pleasant; 57th — noise, vibrant, and trendy. Stopped by for dinner twice with friend/colleagues. Everything was great — cocktails, wagyu beef, rock shrimp tempera with sticky rice balls, king crab tempera(highly recommended 1), black cod(highly recommended 2), tuna tartar, sushi platter, and lastly«bento boxes»(it’s chocolate, chocolate ice cream and matcha ice cream. Highly recommended 3!!!). Everything is solid here.

I’m sitting at the bar right now, so live review. I was really looking forward to a great dinner here tonight by myself, turned out to be a disappointment. I really enjoyed the last time I went here in the restaurant, but not at the bar. Ordered oceans 12 sushi platter. When it got here, the server yelled it across the bar, like he doesn’t know where it should go. I raise my hand, and he’s like yeah I know. Ok… The why were you yelling. Then he grouped with the other bartender and they huddled over my fish right in front of me for a while. Turns out he was training. I thought high end restaurants trained not directly in front of their clients… Anyway the sushi was just ok: the fish was okay but the rice was stiff and flavorless. The eel was small and had a fishy taste to it. My second dish, they placed it right to the ladies next to me and gave them a full intro. Realizing their mistake, they simply shifted the dish over and said oops. Not the end of the world but I expected better service from Nobu. Really disappointed in my night here.

My visit to Nobu 57 was a treat. After a long day working I needed to top off my day with a sushi fix. Walked about 10 minutes from my hotel to the restaurant. The space is very cool with a bar downstairs and the restaurant upstairs. i was seated at sushi bar, perfect because I was a party of one and would let the sushi chef lead the way. I started with the crispy rice with spicy tuna. Now this is a dish I automatically order wherever I go. It was amazing and I recommend starting with it. From there I went to sushi pieces; Japanese Snapper, Blue Fin Toro, Unagi, and Sable. All very tasty. Topped off the meal with a Soft Shell Crab Roll. Yes I was full and yes I’ll be back.

I used to really dislike Nobu(in particular, the Miami location), and avoided it at all cost. However, I tried this location with a friend and the cuisine completely altered my views abt Nobu! We ordered just a few appetizers, such as the crispy rice, spinach salad with shrimp, and the shitake mushroom salad. In particular, my favorite was the crispy rice with tuna. It’s a fun and interactive dish that simply tastes delicious. We also ordered a few rolls, all which were good(but not wow, I must admit). I think Nobu is perhaps one of those Japanese restaurants who’s food is better than its sushi. All in all, the food was delicious and tasty enough to compel me to return. I also really love the atmosphere, which was clean, dark, and sleek. Definitely a cool place and crowd.

I came here with my family for dinner. We ordered two dinner sets and two sushi dinners. This is an American styled/fushion place, so I wouldn’t come here for super authentic Japanese food. It’s a really loud restaurant, people are shouting over each other to hear. It’s a place where I’d recommend you come with friends to have some drinks and order a few sushi dishes and appetizers to eat. I wouldn’t recommend coming if you want a nice quiet place for good conversation. This is a pricey restaurant; however, I don’t think the food was worth the price we paid. The dinner sets were $ 120 each and the sushi sets were $ 40. The amount of food was alright but I think the quality could have been better. The dishes in the set had similar/repetitive tastes(a lot of sesame paste), and was a little over salted. I’ve had plenty of good sushi places in the states and this one was good too but having paid twice the price — I expected more/better. If you’re coming for the atmosphere, I’d say go for it. But if you’re coming for good Japanese food, I’d recommend you to look for another more authentic and less pricy place.

Had an excellent meal here on our final night in NYC. Started out with the Rock Shrimp Tempura w/creamy spicy sauce. Very tasty, but the portion was oddly sized. This was too much to be an appetizer for two, but I can’t see somebody making an entrée out it, as that’d be just too samey. A perfect world would have a half-priced, half-sized version of this dish. The black cod with miso came highly recommended, and did not disappoint. My wife commented that I need to figure out how to make this when we get home, and it’s high on my list of dishes to learn to cook. Perfectly cooked and glazed. The final dish we had was the«sushi dinner» which consisted of a tuna maki roll and eight pieces of nigiri. This was not any more exciting, well-prepared, or tasty than a sushi assortment at any other sushi bar I’ve been to, except for being about twice the price. So the black cod was a 5-star dish, the shrimp a 4-star dish, and the sushi a 3-star dish. Service was fine — it neither blew me away nor detracted from the dinner, so I’ll average this to 4-stars. My recommendation would be for a party of 4 to share a rock shrimp tempura and then each eat a black cod of their own. Yum!

Wonderful ambiance with modern interesting décor, high ceilings, great service and beautifully presented, tasty dishes and drinks. I told the bartender I liked Mezcel and he recommended a prickly pear margarita with Mezcel — wonderful; my friend switched to this drink it was that good. When I’ve been here before we had a number of small plates and I remember being impressed by the presentation. This time as well: The rock shrimp with creamy sauce was delicious! While beautiful I wasn’t a fan of the blackened cod as it tasted fishy to me, and I don’t like any fish flavor … The fish was cooked perfectly though and the flavor of the sauce was wonderful. Highly recommend for food or drinks with friends or coworkers.

Wow how much disappointment can a restaurant provide in one evening. My girlfriend has been wanting to go to Nobu for months. I’ve planned a month a head and booked it for our anniversary and valentines with the anticipation to have an unforgettable night. It surely was an unforgettable night but no for the right reasons. Saturday was one of the coldest nights of the year and even so we decided to go. At first we were seated in the back. Seemed like the rejects area. No ambiance, simple tables and chairs. I’ve asked to move us to the main dining area and so we did. Not a good start but I was glad they accommodate our request. We noticed something is off with the service when we asked for suggestions and our server was annoyed by it. We ordered couple of the tacos and for our surprised they were tacos for babies, mini tacos will do injustice with mini tacos. They were mini mini tacos. In addition we ordered the rock shrimp which was ok… Nothing special and definitely doesn’t justify the $ 20+ price tag! The California roll was good and the crab meat was fresh and a couple of tampura veggies that’s was fine. For main course my girlfriend ordered the Miso Cod and I had the tenderloin steak. How bad a service can be to serve a couple their main entrée 15 minutes apart… The fish was the best part of the evening and the steak was good. For dessert we ordered the short bread dessert which was really good and the molten dark chocolate cake. There was nothing molten about he molten cake, it tasted and looked like it sat on the counter for days before served. Was heated and we returned it. Overall C– restaurant that doesn’t justifies the hype and the price tag. Wouldn’t go there again after this experience and wouldn’t suggest for you to do the same.

Definitely overrated and over hyped. You are better off going to Zuma which serves a much better menu, décor, and service. The only reason I give it one star is for the miso cod. Otherwise it would have a zero rating. Let’s start with the pros. Hands down the only delicious menu item is the black cod miso. The portion is good size and it’s packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The fish melts in your mouth. Now the cons, pretty much everything else. We came on 2÷23÷16 and it was pretty packed. They first sat us in a corner table at the very back of the restaurant. It was basically the loser table almost outside the restaurant. So we asked to be moved. We got moved to a table actually inside he restaurant, but got probably the worst service I have ever received. For an $$$ spot on a holiday weekend you expect good service. Our server was basically mute. When we asked for recommendations she would just point at the menu with an annoyed look on her face. Our entrees got messed up twice and there was not even an apology. Not once did she ask if our food was okay. Then for desert the order was mixed again. When we told her she did not even offer to switch it or apologize… We had to ask multiple times for water and a fork when the steak came. I mean basic service is missed here. We ordered a slew of appetizers and nothing was memorable. You can go to your local Japanese spot and order the same thing for half the price. The lobster taco are the side of my thumb. Legit smaller than bit size. Tempura ehhh the dipping sauce has a weird floral end taste to it. Rock shrimp also not worth it. Sushi, def not worth the price– not super fresh. For the price & hype of each item you are expecting to be wowed. Instead we were utterly disappointed. There’s so much better spots in the city. I’m glad I came to know never to return. Save your money and time.

Wow and I mean wow, the Sushi here popped my Sushi loving Cherry for the 1st time in my life, I can now say I’ve had the very best in Sushi! Came here with a few co-workers for lunch and we left here stuffed full of high quality, melt in your mouth, super uper duper fresh Sushi that will make you realize that all these other Sushi places out here pale in comparison to Nobu 57. Classy Sushi dining at its finest! What we feasted on… Rock Shrimp Tempura with Ponzu — Creamy Spicy Sauce — Perfect crunch, tender shrimp inside and paired well with a light & creamy /spicy sauce. . Bigeye Tuna Rolls — you can truly taste the quality of real tuna in these rolls If your hungry and you want some of everything get the $ 65 Lunch Bento Box. You get not one but two of these filled boxes and this is the best bang for the buck and includes all of the following noted below and know that your not going wrong if your order this. *Assorted Sushi, *Yellowtail Tartar — I swear this tartar bursted and melted in mouth and left me speechless and then there was some sort of green tiny lime looking fruit on the side but it wasn’t a fruit I don’t know what it was but I popped that little green baby in my mouth and a kaleidoscope of flavors went off, You gotta get this! *Black Cod with Miso — Skin lightly crispy, the cod filet of meat is soft, fresh, succulent, fresh tasting, sweet and comes drizzled with the light and saucy Miso — I will always order this dish! * King Crab Amazu Ponzu, — sweet & succulent *Ribeye Anticucho — Tender & delicious, *Sashimi Salad — another perfect dish compliment to a very fulfilling and satisfying Bento Box meal *Miso Soup — OK, its Miso but very warm& refreshing. My final thoughts — This is surely a treat yourself right place to dine at, prices aren’t cheap but the Sushi freshness and melt in your mouth quality and flavors will surely impress not just your taste-buds but your dates, friends and or family taste-buds too! I left here so full and satisfied really I should have kept a pair of sweatpants on hand to change into to accommodate the stomach expansion. You’ve been served right coming here.

Do «great deal» and Nobu ever belong in the same sentence? They do for lunch! The lunch bento box was truly one of the great lunches I’ve ever had… and at the very reasonable price of $ 45. The lunch bento comes with a sashimi salad, sushi, miso soup, vegetables, rock shrimp tempura and black cod with miso. It’s amazing that this bento box comes with two of Nobu’s signature dishes, rock shrimp tempura and black cod with miso, which were consistent with the hype. Given the number of items, the portions are fairly substantial so you shouldn’t leave feeling hungry. We got a couple of tacos to start. They were tasty but a little spendy(and unnecessary given the quantity of food in the bento box).

This place has an excellent atmosphere, a bit on the dimmer lights side. The whole sushi bar staff seems to be folks from Japan. Which I consider a plus for a sushi place. However, and it has been my experience at other locations. Their sushi is very good, but not a wow.

Nobu was recommended to me by two of my friends(and fellow Elites). I decided to give it a try while we were in NYC! The lunch menu had an excellent selection of food and cocktails. My Pineapple Martini with Starfruit was one of the most delicious drinks I’ve had in a long time! We ordered the Lobster Ceviche, Rock Shrimp Tempura, Black Cod Miso and the Summer seasonal dessert– Pineapple & Coconut Cake. My favorite dish was definitely the Black Cod Miso! I didn’t quite know what to expect, but it was such a sweet and unique taste! The fish was cooked perfectly. I could have eaten a whole serving by myself. I highly recommend this dish to anyone who likes seafood. I was surprisingly the only one who enjoyed the Ceviche on butter lettuce. Everyone else thought that it was too tart, which I can understand. The lime taste was overpowering, but I like that. We also liked the Rock Shrimp Tempura in the creamy spicy sauce, but we all agreed that we’ve had better spicy shrimp tempura at other restaurants. The desserts were phenomenal! The Pineapple Coconut Cake was light and mildly flavored. It was the perfect end to our meal. Another thing that I loved about Nobu was the interior decorating! The bar and dining room had a fancy modern Japanese theme. The beautiful bar had a tall wall of oversized Japanese paper lanterns behind it. The reason I took off one star was because of the high prices. Although the food was very good, I’ve definitely had better Japanese food at half the price. I think you’re kind of paying for the upscale atmosphere at Nobu, versus the quality of the food. However, if you like unique Japanese dishes in a gorgeous restaurant, Nobu is definitely worth a visit!

The restaurant’s interior was great, but the staff may be a little intimidating if you don’t blend in with the usual«business people» crowd. Came here for my 22nd birthday, and was a little disappointed that my waitress treated us a little differently from the middle-aged rich-looking couple next to us. Food wise, I had the salmon teriyaki and it was not too bad or great either. PS: The restaurant is easy to miss if you don’t look out for it. Enter through the alley/walkway with art structures along it.
