Next Cleaners

Horrific experience! I dropped off a brand new (with tags) tuxedo shirt to be dry cleaned for my now husband to wear on our wedding day. I dropped it off Wednesday morning and stressed that I needed it Friday morning as we were leaving for the weekend. Friday morning, it was not ready, Friday afternoon it was not ready and Friday evening it was not ready. My mother and sister went in 3 different times on Saturday to pick it up and it was still not ready. It was 5:20 and they wanted to close without giving them the shirt for his wedding the next morning. My sister refused to leave and after being called several horrific names, screamed at, and even threatened with police, they found the shirt. It gets worse… my husband was getting ready at the venue when he realized the cufflinks that came with the shirt were missing! He had to run around and find new cuff links before walking down he aisle, exactly what he should be worried about right?! These people are disgusting, they NEVER apologized, NEVER showed any sort of empathy and only harassed us like we did something wrong.

I actually have never hated a dry cleaning place so much. I came here for a simple alteration any was given an insanely high price. When I came to pick it up it was done extremely poorly and and incorrectly. When I refused to pay the full price for shoddy work it took 30 minutes to resolve. Once we agreed on a fair price — it took an additional 10 minutes and the man working the computer could not figure out how to make the price adjustment. In the end he charged the full price gave me the cash difference but couldn’t figure out how to print a receipt. After 40+ minutes I was done. I would not recommend anyone ever go here.

Despite the reviews I still decided to put my trust in the company and give it a try. Everything was going good until a week ago I dropped my clothes off for wash and fold, and I noticed a few of my items where missing. I just thought I missed placed them in my room. Until I started finding another persons laundry in my bag. I called about it and I understood they send the clothes off however I’m mad for two reasons; my clothes shouldn’t be washed with anyone else’s clothes because that’s not what I’m paying for. Secondly, when I went in to speak to someone they just looked at me as if it wasn’t there problem and nothing could be done. The missing items are very much expensive so for the gentleman to just stare at me got me really upset because he should’ve been more open to pleasing me as the customer.

I knew their prices were expensive compared to other dry cleaners in the area but I had just moved near by and needed a good alterations person.
Haven’t tried their dry cleaning services, so this review is just for alterations.
I brought a couple of pieces. The guy spoke very highly of his alterations person, saying that he was very professional and I would like it. It was pretty pricey for the work he had to do, but I was willing to pay for a good service.
I made an appointment to meet the alterations guy who was only there between 5:30−6 pm 3 times a week. I had to leave work early to meet him. I arrived to the appointment and he was already gone… Made a second appointment. Met the guy and after complaining a bunch about how difficult it was going to be to alter my pieces, he took the job. It turned out he did not do such a wonderful job because I had to take the pieces back again to get them redone. I got to the store and they explained the original alterations guy was gone and they had a new one who was «very professional» and I will like him. Heard that before? Fine with me until they intended me to pay again for the alterations. Whaaaat??? I absolutely refused and they tried me to pay for half. I came back another day when the new alterations person was there (this guy’s schedule is better and works evening hours), he took the job at the spot with no complaints and agreed to fixed it for me since I had already paid once for a job done incorrectly.
When I came to pick up my pieces, the manager had marked a price on each. He insisted I had to pay for each piece or I was not taking my clothes home. I asked to speak with the owner immediately and he lied saying he was traveling or on vacation or something. I was ready to camp in the store until they call the cops. I was furious.
He finally called the owner and he agreed to give me my clothes.
I feel really sorry for this poor management because they are going to loose business.
The new alterations person did a fine job but the company service is rude, unreasonable and very overpriced.

Rude management, very overpriced! My laundry was not ready until over 24 hours after the time stated on my receipt. In addition to a bag of sheets/​towels/​etc… I also dropped off my designer comforter to be dry cleaned. My comforter was not returned, and since they send out all laundry and dry cleaning to a facility in NJ, it is gone for good. I can’t believe they lost something as large and expensive as my comforter. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable !

So, I am a bit surprised by the reviews posted. They must be coming from non-​UWS natives since their prices are reasonable in the area and the service is FAR beyond better than the other dry cleaners. Hey … They even gave us a bag!!! They stuff the arms of our shirts and when they noticed my skirt was ripped they asked whether we wanted it fixed. They did a damn good job too. I would tell anyone moving to the area … Go here and don’t waste your time with the other dry cleaners. There was a really good dry cleaner in our building (97^th and Columbus) but I have a feeling our jerks of a management company forced them out with high rent. So NEXT is the current best in the neighborhood.

Terrible service all three times I went. Incredibly over priced. I will never go here again.
Save yourself a trip and find a different cleaner.

Have been using Next Cleaners for over 1 year for dry cleaning and occasional laundry. Expensive for the area, and have had occasional problems with missing socks, broken buttons etc.
Until today.
Received my dry cleaning to find that my regular, run-​of-​the-​mill dress shirts (all of which say «machine wash cold») were actually dry cleaned at four times the price, with no explanation. I called the company to find out why and, after being put on hold, was told that «there must have been some delicate buttons or spot treatment or something». This is after previously giving them specific instructions for washing and pressing my shirts that didn’t include an unnecessary 400% markup. No offer to refund my money in part for services rendered but not requested.
No thanks. I’ll find someplace that actually bills appropriately and isn’t trying to suck even more money out of local patrons.
