Ordered for delivery the night before. That morning the recipient wasn’t there so the delivery man went back. He then went a second time and they chatted with me and kept me aware of the ETA. Great service and communication.

This time the service was a bit slow I guess it might be the holiday season rush but the order was delivered without any errors. when I tipped the delivery person in cash, he saw that I had two bills stuck together he willingly returned the second bill. Very honest team.

I was excited for this service because this is exactly what I wanted, a service that will simply pick up from a local store and bring it to me in a couple of hours. I hate FreshDirect because it’s overpriced and you have to schedule a delivery window and wait for them.
The site disappointed in a few ways. 1) The selection is VERY limited. It might vary depending on your zipcode, but there were a few items I wanted that are fairly common that were not listed. 2) The minimum order is $ 100. This is a little steep. 3) The items are all very overpriced. I am definitely not getting any kind of bargain on my groceries. The average item price for my order was $ 5.
The delivery itself was very disappointing. The store called (I commend them for calling and asking) to tell me they were out of stock of five of my items. There were some items that weren’t totally clear to me… I didn’t realize that the pillsbury crescent dough was a half-​size (it was listed as 4 oz, but there wasn’t a regular size listed to compare).
Most importantly, the store cheated me. I ordered one pound of grapes and one pound of bananas. They send me 10 oz of each (I weighed!).
I probably won’t use this service again.
Updated to add: The customer service was responsive in refunding me for the fruit. There was some weird disconnect with the grocer, though. They told customer service that they only substituted one item with my permission, when they actually substituted five (also with my permission). Something sheisty going on. I MIGHT use this service again if a) they lowered the minimum order and b) I could get deliver from a different grocer.

On my last 7 day visit to NYC. (being that I’m from Chicago) this site really delivered. literally! I needed the everyday milk, cereal, some beer, frozen stuff and pantry stuff to get me through the week. Gotta have my Cheeseits! The pricing is justified due to the delivery and given how fast they got to the hotel, I couldn’t complain. I tipped the delivery guy since he saved me the trip through NYC to find a grocery store. I was able to get Goose Island Sofie!!! (homesick). as well as a few things I forgot at home like contact lens solution. Since it was already on the site I ordered it. The site is very easy to navigate and I was pleased to find such a service simply by Googling for grocery in NY. You can log in with Facebook even! Now if only they had this in Chicago that isn’t as mainstream.
