The service here is terrible! They ignore you when you walk in (unless they know you), walk away when you ask a question without answering it and have you waiting forever without communicating how long the wait is. On the flip side, their prices are cheap so I guess in the end, you get what you pay for!

I discovered this place one day after lunch at Mama Meena’s with my best friend. Its right next to it. New Star is now my «guy/​gal «on Jamaica Ave. I come here about very two to three weeks to get my nails done. I easily break my nails at work ripping packages open. (Do not ask me how, I do not know either). Regular manicure doesn’t seem enough and gel nails works better. $ 15 for gel nails? Why not?! I do not come back for the price tho. Service is really thorough. Pedicure with the foot scrub is great and a massage while waiting for my nails dry is great. But I come here for Cindy. I show her what I want, any crazy design, whatever it is, she gets it done. I am super happy at this place. Cindy just recently gave birth and I’m sad to lose her but not for long I hope.
Steve, guy who does hair, is pretty good. I’ve watched him and his staff do an excellent job on their clients. Haven’t gotten a haircut here tho (I go somewhere else for it). I’ve only had my highlights done here once and it was great. Very much affordable too.
I recommended this place to all my friends and sister. They too are now loyal customers.
So if you’re close by or willing to come out here to see what I’m talking about, it’s worth it.
