Chanel, YSL, Prada, Marni… all almost new and all well priced. The owner Maggie is a gem and we have been shopping with her for years and years. Love this store!

Wonderful little shop, nicely curated by the owner, wonderfully priced. Been coming here for years and it’s never just a shopping trip, it’s a catch up session with Maggie who is knowledgeable in the fashion industry. Always managed to find something here! Last time I was here I found a gorgeous Buccellati silver bracelet. Not a place for digging for cheapies, but for fashionistas who understands fashion and value.

Maggie has great taste. A small but highly curated selection saves you precious time you’re otherwise not going to get back… Prices are fair. I think I’ve bought half a dozen things there including 2(non matronly) Prada jackets I wear all the time. That’s the test of a good second hand buy — it’s not just a closet hog.

I love New & Almost New. They are SO easy to consign with. Classy, honest, great prices, and full of style. How on earth can there be a better combination? I tried to sell and consign a few items at a bunch of other places and New and Almost New was the perfect spot for me. I had a prada purse and a coach passport holder that were used maybe twice at most? It was an ugly prada in my opinion any way. But one man’s trash is another’s treasure! So selling it was totally in my radar. Buffalo Exchange doesnt care for brand name stuff. Eleven Consignment was so snobby and annoying. I will NOT go back. Then… thankfully, I found New and Almost New. Not only did they take my items, they sold it with a 50% payment. I earned the SAME amount that I would’ve gotten from Eleven Consignment(even though they bragged I wouldnt earn nearly as much from anyone else… liars) after 3 months of it sitting in the store. Its a win-win. I get space in my apartment AND get paid, while someone enjoys a new prada purse and the New and Almost New owner earns a living. Sounds like a plan to me.

I like it. The pieces are not crammed onto a rack, it looks like she tried to curate through the pieces, and I even found 2 skirts(silk, which made me put them back), and an Alice + Olivia beige shirtdress that ended up being too short and sheer. I like the store, I just wish there was a slightly better selection and a higher end one. It’s still not what i’m looking for, although the prices are AWESOME for a high-end designer consignment shop(around the $ 100 range)

Wow. This store is kind of amazing. First off, I need to inform you that they are about to move to 171A Mott Street so they are currently having a 10% off sale. But if the prices on the tags are the normal prices, then wow. I second everyone else’s opinions, this is absolutely brilliant. Cute designer clothes you can actually afford. They’re prepping for the move now so the inventory is pretty basic. I found some pretty skirts but I was unmoved by the rest of the stock. However, the owner has great taste so I’m sure that when they’re settled they’ll have other interesting pieces. I just loved chatting with her. It’s a novel experience to find someone who will be honest with you. Obviously, when she thinks you look good in something she tries to convince you of it but when I was about to talk myself into something that didn’t feel right, she talked me back out of it. What more could you want than a store owner who picks great merchandise, believes in operating an actual discount store, and is honest about what she thinks you look like? Love. :)

I found this store, lost it and found it again. It really is one of my favorite consignment stores in the city. Unlike other stores, this one is consignment, not vintage or just a weird mish-mosh of designs that are straight off the runway with designer label, but can’t be worn by the normal person. I have been on both the consigning side and the purchasing side. The inventory is wonderful. She is picky in her selection, not only in what the season is, but the style and weather it is something she could see her customer’s purchasing. The owner really approaches any consignment as a buyer would. If you are getting rid of your dress, no matter who the designer is, her first question is, would anyone else actually want to pay for it? As a result, the clothing there is in fantastic condition AND are things you would wear. The purses are generally things you would want for your closet, etc. I think most of her business is a size 4, 6, and 8. The selection in my size is more limited, and I think — because it’s Soho/Chinatown, runs out quickly. I will say, however, that she does not over stock and clutter the space. A lot of consignment shops feel old and not boutique like. She makes sure to put just enough inventory out to make it look and feel like a store. It is the case, however, that she does have stuff in the back that hasn’t yet been tagged. If you’ve the time, it doesn’t hurt to ask if she might have more that just hasn’t been placed out yet. Oh, and the owner, has great taste. If you try it on and it doesn’t look good, she’ll let you know. If it looks great, she’ll also let you know. There is no hard sell on her part.

The BEST experience I’ve had at a consignment store since being in NYC. The owner is extremely professional and knowledgable about all things fashion and what is worth purchasing. Not pushy or overbearing either, just a woman you want to talk and stick around and have lively chit chat with for a little while, the whole time gaining valuable knowledge about fashion! She is going to advise me on a few items I would like to sell from my own closet and let me know which stores in the city, including hers, I could benefit the most from bringing my things to. She’s just a joy! What girl doesn’t appreciate mentoring like this?! I’m lost and new to this consignment in the city game and have no idea where I could make money from and I seriously got misty when she offered me some advice for now and in the future. Her store is also well stocked and neatly organized with clean, excellent condition clothing and accessories. She means it when she says she keeps only things that are in season at the moment to offer her customers the best service. Instead of going around taking my hard earned money to bloomingdales and other stores who’s brands she carries I really can trust her to provide me the same items in brand new clean condition, just as special and rare for a better price. So I’ll definetly be back to buy and sell!

What a great find! The prices aren’t quite as low as Cadillac’s Castle in the east village, but the selection is well edited and high quality. Designer selections include Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Temperley, DVF, Alice + Olivia to more mass labels like JCrew. You can find everything from shoes to accessories. I walked out with some great items…$ 100DVF wool jacket, Brooks Brothers cashmere cardigan set for $ 70 and a really unique vintage leather purse. Like the name, everything is new & almost new.

The helpful owner(?) and nice selection make this shop. She really knows what she is talking about and changes the shop for whats«in.» We came in just to look and found some great stuff. You could walk out of N&AN looking like Katharine Hepburne. I bought a birthday present here for only $ 12. While this price was not the norm, the prices were reasonable for the designer items available.
