I was looking for a quick bite before staffing the mile 24 fluid station for the NY Marathon(we start early). I had a bagel with cream cheese and it came to a reasonable $ 2. The bagel was a real NYC affair — chewy and fresh. At noon, I snuck out and ran over for lunch, ordering a roast beef sandwich on a roll and two cheese sandwiches for two co-workers. My roast beef was moist and rare on a fresh Italian roll. The cheese sandwiches were eaten with gusto and received two thumbs up from the recipients. The bill for three sandwiches came to a very reasonable $ 20. Wow! Fast friendly service. Clean and neat establishment. Tasty food. I’ll be back — certainly next Marathon if not before. Recommended

Some of the other reviews got me like whaaaaaaa, but my experience was beyond decent. I was peckish and so stopped in and decided on a Luna bar and a container of watermelon. VERYDELICIOUS and the ladies behind the counter were nice!

I give this place a 4 star because as a deli, it is doing a damn good job! They provide standard deli food with a very reasonable price. Bakery is not their specialty but breakfast sandwich and salads are always decent. Compared to the $ 10 salad in smaller but nicer package blocks away at Dean and Deluca, Neofytos gives a good quick lunch, solid portion salad for working staffs in this neighborhood.

Unfortunately, I must now recant my previous opinion on Neofyto’s Deli. While the prices are really too good to be true on the UES, the staff has proven to be either incompetent, lazy, or perhaps just malicious. After ordering a bagel with egg and pepper jack cheese, I was surprised today to learn that instead of the normal«sorry, no pepper jack» when they don’t have pepper jack cheese, the worker turned around and told the chef«just give him American» in Spanish and then flashed me a cheesy smile. Dude, if you don’t have pepper jack cheese, I don’t really care, but don’t go and assume that as a white guy coming into your deli, I don’t understand Spanish. Hablo español, papi. As much as it pains me to give up the savings, I won’t be coming here again.

I was hoping to make this my go-to deli in area and I have given it a few tries, but sadly I have been a bit disappointed. The sandwiches I have tried have been underwhelming and the ingredients in the salad bar always seem like they have been out one day too many. The price are great, especially for madison ave, but the food could definitely be better

Great place for salads & wraps WITHOUT the Madison Avenue prices. The owner and workers are always welcoming and pleasant. I have been a regular there for years; even thou I no longer work near there, I still head over about once a week. Recommend the honey mustard chicken!

Best hidden gem deli! I always get salads from here on my lunch break or omlettes when I was too rushed for breakfast at home! Omlettes-amazing and inexpensive! –especially for this area. Salads– I have a secret blend they make for me– just grab your bowl of lettuce and ask for the Greek salad mix(amazing!) from the from case, add avacado and chicken, soooo good! To me it’s better than any restaurant bought Greek salad, way more substance to it– as they PACK the bowls w your veggies, and cheap! Yay for tasty food and saving $$ :)

Stopped in here for lunch yesterday as I was in the neighborhood. Had a grilled chicken sandwich on a roll with lettuce, tomatoes and honey mustard. It came served in a plastic tray with some loose potato chips. That, and a cup of coffee was $ 10.00 It tasted«ok» but it made me very ill a few hours later.

Sometimes even along the most pretentious and overpriced streets of the city there are a few spots even us average joe’s can call one of our own. Neofytos Deli is one of those spots. It’s a good solid deli that serves up good hot coffee and a tasty egg, bacon, and cheese on a roll for breakfast. Reasonable prices. Fast and friendly service. Solid little no frills deli that is a nifty spot to grab breakfast or lunch at if in the area, and don’t want to pay Madison Ave prices. It’s not fancy but gets the job done. Yeah, I ordered my breakfast sandwich with egg whites. Yeah, I’m trying to fool myself, but at least that crispy bacon tasted damn good!

This is the spot! Especially if you work in the area. Whether it is before work or on my lunch break I run to this spot for the past few years now to get some food. The staff are really nice and I’m also making small talk with them. Good coffee, delicious paninis, and reasonable prices considering the location. Definitely check this spot out.

Tired of overpaying for everything on Madison ave? Want service with a smile from good people? This is it! Pay regular prices for lunch while on Madison. Good quality food at reasonable prices. Sure they dint have a fancy store with fancy bags but who cares! We just want some damn lunch that doesn’t kill our wallet! The business is Greek owned and that is always a plus. You know those Greeks know food and good service. When was the last time any store on Madison offered you a free cup of coffee? Only a Greek!
