First. My dad’s best friend growing up was a dentist. So I have high expectations. I’m always afraid people will do uneeded filings and stuff. Starting going to Neidle in 2009(?) after my coworkers recommended him(he was close to our office then). We’ve moved uptown but I will still go downtown for my cleanings. I have never once gotten the feeling that he would do extra, uncessary work. I even asked about whitening once and he brought out these little teeth and showed me which color mine were. And then he was like you don’t need them whitened. Just get the Crest Strips if you want to. So basically he could have gotten more money from me and he didn’t. I also have sensitivity behind my two bottom front teeth so it really hurts when they use the scraping tool and anything ultrasonic. They always remember that and put that pineapple flavored numbing gel on it. I mean they do not skimp either. After the cleaning Neidle comes in, pokes around the teeth, checks all around(I’m guessing for oral cancer?) and you’re out. He always is positive. And they play nice classical music. So I don’t freak as much. They used to do cleanings on Saturdays which worked better for my schedule but I don’t think they do anymore. It’s a small office but it has the feeling of not being in the city. Like a regular town somewhere. The building doesn’t seem like you’d find a dentist in it, maybe a lawyer. But it’s clean. Sometimes you wait a little, but nothing terrible. If you are afraid of scammer dentists, I’m telling you this guy isn’t like that — at all.

Their office was clean and the staff was very courteous. Dr. Neidle has good bedside manner and took the time to explain things to me.

There’s no shortage of dentists in NYC but finding a great one is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I’ve been to some really crappy dentists on my crusade to find«the one» and I’m happy to say that this is it. Although Dr. Neidle doesn’t actually perform the cleanings himself, his dedicated and well-trained staff do an excellent job making sure the process is extremely thorough while being as painless as possible. This isn’t one of those hasty five minute cleanings where they just inspect your mouth, poke it a few times and call it a day. Each and every crevice between your teeth will be examined, scaled, and scrubbed from multiple angles to ensure no tartar remains. When all is said and done, Dr. Neidle personally inspects the work performed and happily hands you a shiny new toothbrush, tube of toothpaste, and floss. Who doesn’t like free stuff?!
