I want to give this place a thorough review about how awful this place is, if I could give this place zero stars I would. I ordered a pastrami sandwich for delivery 20 dollars with tip, to my suprise they put all the worst parts of the pastrami in my eye bread such as all the extra white fat that comes with it. The food tasted so bad that I just ate the bread because only 5 percent of the meat was actually decent. I hope his place shuts down!

I visit this restaurant once every year when in town. I have to say wow, things have gone down hill fast, not what it used to be years ago! we ordered a shawarma and two burgers and they managed to mess up the most simple orders ever! The shawarma looked like it was a kids meal put into a small stale baguette, which had no flavors. We asked for the shawarma and burgers to be cut in half didnt do it and it took her 20min to simply slice a shawarma into two. all parties who ate there had stomach aches for the next day. Zero service, bad attitude, the employees treat you like you killed there family members. Do not waste your time or your money on this train wreck of a so called kosher restaurant. Negative stars for wasting my time and making us sick.

The new renovation and management have really changed this place for the better. They carry sushi which is a nice twist to a deli. We started off with hummus and tahini plate with falafel. The falafel was very fresh and crunchy and they gave a generous portion. We also had the deli platter which I thought was the best thing. I had a kale cesar which was disappointing, overdressed, and soggy. Giving it more starts because I liked everyone else’s dishes. The schnitzel was great and he got it with side salad instead of fries. The shawarma was tasty, and so was the hot and sour soups. Two other friends had sandwiches which had a decent amount of meat but they weren’t huge. The waitress was very good, considering how packed the place was. I used to order in a lot here but definitely going to dine in more as the experience was pleasant.

We ordered 5 shawarma sandwiches and the meat was dry and some over cooked. It had no taste and not seasoned. Not what it used to be.

WORST KOSHER Resturant. Everything about this place is horrible. The employees, the atmosphere, and especially the food.
Asked for 4 different types of food on the menu until they finally said we have it. Okay whatever.
Asked the employees a few times for utensils each time they looked at me and ignored me. Woman taking my order kept looking down at her cellphone to text.
Went to get salad at the nasty salad bar, everything was empty and gross only thing left was carrots that was discolored. Okay whatever they are slow on refilling and not fresh, not even the worst.
Got my shawarma in a hard stale baguette. took one bit noticed 90 percent of the chicken is raw.
Waist of time and money.
Just disgusting, wouldn’t tell my Jewish enemy to go to this disgusting place.

It was great soup, replace. Loved it he Chinese moo goo beef and veggies and fried rice. Delivery was amazing. I would order from here again and try some more dinners. It is worth the $ 4 dollar delivery if I order enough for a party as it is fresh and clean food. Not too salty or spicy. I also liked the ribs and stuffed cabbage.

Terrible food. Was there earlier today, and now I’m sick to my stomach. The cashier was too busy on her phone and ignored me for 5 minutes. I had to bang on the counter to get her attention so I could pay for the food. My hot dog was cold and the bun was stale. The pastrami was fatty and fell apart. A waste of money.

I was served a sandwich on rock hard, stale bread. When I brought it to the attention of my waitress, and left the entire sandwich on the plate, she still charged me for it. Abysmal customer service.

This is a kosher deli near Herald Square. Spotless clean.
I ordered a pastrami on rye to go. It was absolutely delicious. Not too lean and not too salty. The rye bread was not very flavorful but the pastrami was really delicious. It also was not one of those abnoxious over stuffed sandwiches– it was human sized and priced at I think $ 11.
The take out area is very slow with only one person preparing everything. I wound up waiting about 20 minutes for my order as there were so many to go and delivery orders.
They also have a make your own salad bar and a kosher sushi bar within. Lots of people were getting the sushi. (I imagine finding kosher sushi is difficult)

This spot used to be one of my favorites. I stopped coming for a while and decided to give it a try. Awful! The shawarma was dry and the bread was old and crumbling that I just removed the shawarma and ate it as a salad. The so called sandwich was tasteless. Besides for the very disappointing food the service was equally as poor. The «hostess» ignored me while I spoke! I’ve never seen anything like that. The host was actually nice I wish I knew his name so I could give him a shout out. He’s the only reason why I didn’t just walk out. Dear Unilocalers — NYC is filled with kosher spots don’t settle for less by spending your time here.

Mr. Broadway is an insanely popular lunch spot in the garment district of Manhattan… or shall I say, the area those who work in the «schemata business» hang in. Kosher, Jew eats seems rather fitting for the demographic. PASTRAMI LOVERS, REJOICE! Serioiusly, if you aren’t getting one of their famous sandwiches, nothing else is really that good. What I dislike about Kosher places like these, is they always feel it’s necessary to include sushi and/​or Chinese on their menu. No. You’re good at one thing and one thing only, don’t go all Asian on me.
Anyway, aside from their sandwiches, avoid the egg drop soup, it’s tasteless, but the chicken schwarma is pretty good, not to mention the complementary pickles and cole slaw, yum! For 1pm on a Thursday, there was not a single table available here. I get that the restaurant is a busy hot spot, but that doesn’t mean service should suck. The hostess was incredibly rude when seating me, and the busboy was way too eager to take my soup bowl away from me when there was clearly some left and I still had a soup in my hand.
A side note: They have a salad bar you can DIY and take away. A full service lunch spot, indeed!

Embarrassingly bad service. I wanted a simple glass of water. I went to the bar where the gentleman behind the bar said it wasn’t his job to serve water. He then went back to playing on his phone. I asked if I could trouble him to help me find someone who could get me a glass of water. He not only didn’t respond but pretended that I wasn’t there as he looked at his phone. Most odd customer service experience I’ve ever had. Stay away from this place.

Had a great experience at this restaurant. A lot of people I know from work love this restaurant so I thought I would give it a shot. The service was 5 stars. The hostess and bartender were as good as it gets. The food was good but not great. Mazo ball soup was mediocre. Bodegas and deli’s make a better product. The sushi was great. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Pro’s: Good Food, Not very pricey, yet has a nice ambience.
Con’s: Waiters are not very friendly, Food takes a bit of time to get to the table, some food lack serious flavor. (but if you know what to choose then you’ll love their food!)
Now to the specifics, we where there as a group of Coworkers and were seated promptly in a nice and cozy corner with a nice wine rack at our side to choose from.
For appetizers we took:
BBQ Boneless Chicken Wings with Parve Ranch — By far the most tastiest dish In my opinion.
Schwarma Tacos with Pico De Gallo and Spicy Aioli — Bland and tasteless, don’t even try it. (trust me on this one)
Corned Beef Puff Rolls with Sweet Chili Sauce — Basically hot corned beef in a knish dough in the shape of a blintz with chili sauce. (Nothing to go crazy about)
Chicken Liver Bruschetta with red onion confit — This was really delicious and is worthy of trying, the bruschetta was light and crispy, the liver was creamy and tasty and the onion confit added a nice kick of flavor and look to the plate.
As for Entrees we took:
BBQ Spare Ribs — «Actually Delicious» while I expected Beef spare ribs they where Veal (Should of read the menu more thoroughly) but they where cooked to perfection, and as I said «Delicious»
Mixed Grill Platter — Includes Chicken, Beef, Romanian Kebabs and is pretty tasty, however the portion size is a bit smaller then the spare ribs.
BBQ Brisket Sandwich — Probably your best choice if you’re in the mood of a «Good» Sandwich.
Comes with Red Cabbage Slaw, Onion Strings, Honey Garlic Barbecue on a Brioche Roll (Ask them to toast/​Grill it for you)
Prime Rib Eye Sandwich — Ah-​Ok… not bad but also nothing to write home about.
And for dessert: (they actually didn’t have anything besides of what we ordered)
Napoleon Cake — Pastry was soft and almost soggy, nothing close to the real deal.
Chocolate Mousse Cream Cake — Was actually not bad but it looked better then it tasted.
Bottom line (If you’re still reading…) Mr. Broadway is a great casual place with a nice ambiance if you know what to order. otherwise you might end up spending money for very underwhelming food. (I.e. do NOT order a rib stake here! this is not a stake house and don’t expect anything palate blowing here) this is a great plate for a casual night out but with a nicer ambiance and bit more interesting menu then what you’d get at any other casual place.

Some of the worst deli meat in NYC found it’s way to my $ 14 sandwich. There must be a lack of good kosher restaurants in this area because this place was packed full of unsuspecting folks who will shell out alot of cash for a bad meal. Most of the brisket and turkey that was served to me was full of fat and needed to be discarded. Only my rush to finish my meal and go somewhere else and the fact that I wasn’t paying stopped me from returning the food. Any deli in NY will serve you better deli meat, so either order something else or better yet, go somewhere else.

If i could give this place ZERO STARS i would. They do not even deserve to be an establishment, they are thieves, and especially the owner Charlie. They should be put out of business.
I ordered my food from them on seamless at 1pm, Seamless sent me an email saying it would be here between 235−245pm. At 3pm when my food had not arrived yet I called them and the lady responding tole me she couldnt get a hold of the delivery driver and she would call me back. By 320pm she had not yet called me back so I called them, they said they still could not reach the delivery driver.
20 minutes later at 3:45 the owner of the restaurant calls me and says that his delivery driver was outside calling me for 15 minutes but I did not respond. He yells at me and tells me that if i want he can just throw the food away and still charge me or I have to wait 20 minutes before the food comes. This guy was literally talking to me like I was his slave. He told me if i dont like it i can never order from them again. The delivery driver not only never called me, the employee at the restaurant could not even get a hold of him.
PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

I rather have a old beat up restaurant with amazing food and service then this horribly managed restaurant.
While reading this review keep in mind I have come here with colleagues, for meetings, with dates, friends and family in the past sometimes multiple times a week.
Came here on wensday evening and order a burger and sandwich… Good comes out an HOUR late only to be wrong order. Then they say we will make it up to you they make the right burger in literally 3 mins but the meat was raw.
Filthy management didn’t even come say sorry he took off a 2 dollar can of soda off my bill and that’s it
I’m so upset right now I don’t want to curse and get my review removed
But I will gladly make sure to try and stop anyone from going and giving them any money to keep this place alive.
Owning a restaurant is not easy first you need to get a customer and then you need to keep them!
I rather have the old owners back and the restaurant the way it used to be but running great and tasting even better
For good food GO ELSEWHERE !!!
P. S. Please make sure you do not get fooled by their best shawrma signs, it’s shawarma for the masses with no flavor and a nasty side attitude to go with it.
Try Olympic pita for a much better ambience, service and food

A friend ordered the barbecue beef spare ribs (2 appetizer portions) and I had one. The meat was delicious, fell off the bone, and was extraordinarily tender. The sauce was tangy, sweet, and spicy. These were some excellent kosher ribs. I must give credit where due. I’d order the ribs here without hesitation, but would pass on the other dishes I tried and found underwhelming.

Where to start! This place SUCKS, Over price bull shit the FOH is horrible all they know how to do is get the check. The shawarma taco tasted like bleach. The lamp sliders sucked as well my bread was hard as a rock. The kale salad had warm tomatoes on it for real!!! I knew when I saw a sushi bar. I knew this place was going to suck. By the food and the plating. It’s no real cook in The BOH. MR Bway you suck. Ohh and my bill was $ 70.

It is probably unreasonable to give this place four stars based on one visit for lunch; but sometimes Mr Nice Guy shows up to write a review. Stopped in today for lunch with a friend. I went with a pastrami sandwich and a cream soda. Good sandwich, inexpensive, not a big portion but enough for me.
What struck me abour Mr Broadway was that I could not tell that it was a kosher place. It has a distinctly «normal» NYC vibe with none of the downside which I am used to in a kosher restaurant or deli.
Table comes with a big bowl of freshly made coleslaw and some half-​sour pickles. Our server was personable and attentive. Food came out fast. Big place, plenty of seating in the back. Busy at lunch but only a short wait to be seated. Worth a try if you are in Midtown. Plus they have a liquor license.
