I used to like to hit up this location in the Time Warner Center(Shops at Columbus Circle) when I lived in New York and make it a point to stop in on visits. Though the clothing is current/trendy, the styles are well curated and stand the test of time. Exhibit A: a pair of Citizens avedon skinnies that I wear to this day but purchased more than a year ago. Thanks to the marvels of the Interwebs and the coupon codes that have recently come across my e-mail, I can now frequent this boutique even when I am not in New York. The selection of clothing and jewelry/accessories is unexpected and feels fresh, especially this season when one is hard pressed to find Milly items in the usual brick and mortar suspects. I look forward to checking out the online store to get my fix of of-the-moment yet somehow still timeless pieces.

Pricey but, the selection of clothes is great… the buyer is fantastic! I am a big fan of Velvet and DVF and they carry both brands and they carry new/up and coming designers and I love trying out new items! The sales women are always nice and offer great suggestions based on what you describe and your body style. I am really picky about length since I am so short and sleeves and they are always super helpful. I have gotten several really great staple items and some beautiful dresses for cocktail parties.

The layout is nice, and they have a good selection of clothing, but as someone who wears between size 8 – 12, I have a hunch they don’t buy larger sizes as much. Great if you are size 6 and under but that’s not my reality. I mentioned this to a store manager, after I’d been in a few times, and couldn’t find the right size on items I liked, and I was given a cold, hard glare, and ‘tude that intimated, «well maybe if you were smaller…» Is there such thing as size discrimination?

Nice mix of «current classics» and ahead-of-the-curve trends, and of genres(from very casual shorts to formal dresses). Unusually polite and friendly staff for a store of this kind(cough intermix cough). Of course this is so subjective, but whoever buys for Montmartre, we’ve had strongly overlapping taste for years. I have NEVER walked in here and failed to find something new, fun, cute AND interesting. Outstanding for trendy, beautiful accessories(especially jewelry) as gifts(assuming you really like your friends. I didn’t say the place was cheap)

Montmartre is located on the third floor of the Shops at the Time Warner Center. It’s your typical boutique with clothes, accessories, and the like. The reason for my shopping expedition was to get a pair of City Slips(ballet flats that fold up neatly into a clutch-like bag, that way a girl doesn’t have to run around for blocks in her fancy pumps). My sales associate was very helpful and friendly, and even told me she swore by the product herself(which is always reassuring). The customer service I received was great — a refreshing change from some of the other boutiques in the city.
