So I scored a ticket to the MTV2MLBFANCAVE They made a very big deal about being on time. They told us to be here by 10:00 am and that the taping starts at 11:00 am. Here is what I’ve observed so far. It’s was 9:45 and I was already outside waiting. I was the second one here.(call me punctual). No one came out and until 10:30 am when they said the cutoff time would be for the ticket holders. At 11:03am, Sway came out of a cab with his girl and walked in. –_– At 11:15am, we start getting out tickets scanned, and it’s now 11:20am and we have not started to tape or go in yet. Most of the morning was the sitting and texting among the staff. Important things of course. So it’s now 12:01 and we are still not in yet. Its awful. And then, just then, It was all over. Like ripping a bandage slowly. Annoyingly long and dragged out, but eventually in the end it was quick and pleasantly over. Thank you for the opportunity.

Really interesting space with fascinating art and technology exhibits for MLB fans. However, the doorman was really nasty and unpleasant.

We were taken to a true cave for a ‘5-minute interview’ that mutated into 80 minutes, 75 of which were spent waiting in a dimly lit basement corridor hoping it wasn’t an April Fools Joke since we’d yet to see the promised Yankees or Mets tickets). The seats were actually pretty great, and their marketing pushes are respectable albeit a bit forced, but the Fan Cave itself is a cool spot, even it the misleading intro was not, nor was getting punk’d by Bryce Harper.

This review is solely for the MLB concert series as I was there for that to see Neon Trees yesterday. The place is small but they limit the amount of people in. They have lots of free shows now so check their website for when because all you have to do is show up to get a bracelet. About 90 minutes before shows should do and once you get your bracelet youre in so you can wander around the flea market next door. As for the venue it’s really small and intimate and the band is right there in front of you. The acoustics were great for such a small place and both the crowd and the Neon Trees seemed to really be having a ball. I got to meet the guys after as I had VIP passes from 101.9(best radio station in NY btw) and they were really cool. The security was a little pushy but when are they not? The place is decorated with baseball memorabilia and I hear the rest of the place is really cool, I will have to check it out.
