Dirty fries. Enough said. We had baked beans, chicken, sausage, ribs, and a few other things. Everything was terrific but I loved the dirty fries most. One the highlight meals of our NYC trip.

A+. *****. Must go. Ive been here twice so far but could go weekly if I wanted to explode. MUSTGOONEMPTYSTOMACH. Ive gotten the brisket sandwich both times and their sides are… I have no words. The brocolli salad– Id get it even if I didnt liek brocolli. Their fries are obviously fabulous– the perfect mix of crunchy and mushy. The mashed sweet potato is my lowest ranked of the 3 but still UNREAL. I love it all so much I got ALL the sides last time I went and brought home leftovers so I could reindulge the next day for lunch. They also have free add ons for your meal– cole slaw, a variety of pickles veggies and some others. They have a few locations– Ive been to the East and West Village ones and both were great. EV has outdoor seating but I think WV is more spacious inside. Both are perfectly lit and not TOO loud but definitley not quiet. Good for groups if you can get a seat but it gets pretty packed so be prepared to wait.

This is a solid bbq pace, worth a try. On this occasion I ordered to go. Spare ribs, fries, cucumber and vinegar slaw.

Mighty Quinn’s serves up some pretty good barbeque and sides. I shared the brisket, pulled pork, and the burnt ends. The brisket was the juiciest and showcased the burnt ends of the meat the best. I’d recommend it as a first choice. I think the pulled pork and the burnt ends were more focused on the sauces than the meats. I actually found the burnt ends to be too saucy for my liking. The sides are a bit confusing. Some qualify as part of your meal and some need to be purchased as a separate side. I didn’t like the tier system, but I did enjoy all of the sides I tried including pickled veggie ones, the sweet potato mash, and baked beans. The sweet potato mash was very pie like with pecans and a strong influence of maple. Mighty Quinn’s also has a decent selection of craft beers to pair with your delicious barbeque and sides. I didn’t appreciate that the staff was stingy about the seating. I understand that the restaurant was busy, but I didn’t appreciate being rushed to order.

Just go. I’ve been multiple times and as much as I want to try different things, the brisket is what keeps me coming back. That, along with the buttermilk broccoli and the beans… The environment is also great. Clean place, friendly staff, and prices that are high but not absurd.

As a general rule I don’t eat southern BBQ. So I need to say that as a disclaimer as Mighty Quinn’s might not be authentic. Having said that, we loved the location and the restaurant style itself. Great bench tables, good music, and you could see them cooking and preparing the food. A must for a foodie! ;) We ordered the brisket and the sausage, as well as the mayo and non may coleslaw. Everything was excellent. I loved the option of adding the picked veggies, and as I like some heat I picked the chillies. They were perfect for cutting through the richness of the meat. All in all, great experience. Would like to try the Brontosaurus rib that everyone raves about.

3.5. I prefer a smokier tasting brisket. The potato salad and pickled vegetables were excellent. If you’re ordering the brisket sandwich, consider going with the burnt ends. They were tastier than the regular brisket. The bbq sauce(huge bottle on the table) was sweeter than I like but still very good.

We walked in tonight(Sunday Jan 17th) at 5:30PM to order ribs. The girl(heavy-set, choker necklace) says«We don’t have any ribs». Without even thinking I said«you’re joking?». She replies«I’m not joking» punctuated with a glare of animosity that had«F You» written all over it. Zero apology for any inconvenience. Just her confrontational reply and plenty of attitude. We left, ribless. Note to manager or owners — not having ribs early evening at the weekend is deserving of least a little polite incredulity from hungry customers who travelled to the east village with only the thought of a rack of baby-backs to spur us through the drizzle and slush. A little feigned regret from staff wouldn’t go awry when you run out off the one product that is a basic necessity of any barbecue joint. Lose heavy-set girl with the choker-necklace and attitude. We might have tried another time again in the future, but the customer service experience will likely leave a more lasting impression than simply leaving hungry. Don’t let rude staff have a detrimental effect on your business model.

Mighty Quinn’s! I had bookmarked you so long ago because of some article on the gothamist or buzzfeed or something, that talked about how amazing the food was. I had passed you numerous times after going to the gym but never went in … Until yesterday. Upon walking in, you can see that mighty Quinn’s is designed to be a comfortable joint where you can sit back, relax, and chill out with some barbecued foodstuffs. Okay, I can dig that. The menu is surprisingly simple — there are an array of barbecued meats and you can get various sides, ranging from pickled vegetables to coleslaw to various vegetable salads. Pretty standard barbecue stuff, I would say. I ended up getting the wings with a side of beans and a side of broccoli salad. The total came out to be around $ 14 something, which, I guess is okay(?) but not great for someone who wants to ball on a budget(like me). I sat down with my friend, who ordered the spare ribs while we waited for my wings and his dirty fries to come out. They both took a while but they came out at the same time, presumably hot and fresh. The wings were okay, kind of good, not great, but had a nice barbecued sesame flavor to them, which I thought was nice. I really liked the broccoli salad, and I thought that the beans were chunky and filling. It was a nice surprise to have random bits of sausage and pulled pork in the beans, and I think that if you got the beans in sandwich form, you’d have a pretty hefty sandwich. The dirty fries were also okay, I guess, since it was just French fries drenched in barbecued meats. Can’t really go wrong unless you’re a vegetarian. What makes me give this place three stars after all the hype and actually eating here is that the food is just okay. Good at best. Not great, not phenomenal, not amazing. Just kind of okay — good. In addition, the way that the menu is set up, I feel like first time customers are tricked into purchasing sides, since the prices for the sides are listed at the bottom. It gives a kind of «you get a meat and X amount of sides» feel to it, so you think that the sides are included but they’re not. How deceiving! Overall, I would give this place like. 3.25−3.5 stars. I don’t know if I’ll be coming back here or not but I can see the allure of a place of Mighty Quinn’s. You keep doing you, Mighty Quinn’s.

Self service place. Yoy go up to the counter and order your food. There is a variety of meats and beer. The décor is very nice there are wooden tables that gives you that nice bbq house feel. Was not too crowdedon a rainy friday night. I ordered the half chicken, ribs, and mashed sweet potatos. I did not get the chicken wings that people auggested because it only came in spicy. The chicken was tasty and Juicy even though I removed the skin but nothing special. i really liked the sweet potatos(which is why it is 4stars and not 3). There are nuts so beware if you have allergies. As for the ribs, The meat was very tender but way too spicy for me. It is basically coated with black pepper and probably another spice. I am glad they offered tap water for free. The sauce was also something else. It is sweet but also spicyat the same time. Overall okay but i wont come back again

Such amazing BBQ. I’m not the biggest fan in the world of huge hunks of smoked meats, but man oh man, I’m going to have dreams of that pulled pork, soaked in some kind of delicious sauce, and the brisket, which was fall-apart tender and split apart along the meat seams with the slightest prod from my fork. Each table has a generous bottle of Mighty Quinn’s sauce to go with the brisket, though I didn’t think it needed anything. Meat comes with a few pickled add-ons, like celery and red onions. I was a bit dazzled by all of the sides, and ended up just picking the buttermilk broccoli(because I wanted greens and the broccoli was by far the greenest thing on the menu) and the burnt ends baked beans(believing that beans soaked in meat sauce could never ever lead me astray). We came when there wasn’t a huge line to order(pre-Xmas, pre-6 pm dinner, when all the reasonable people must be fasting and stocking up on elastic waist pants), but MQ’s has always been packed the few other times that I’ve walked past. NEXTTIME: chicken wings, bread pudding, more brisket, more pulled pork

You must try: Tender Boneless Chicken Thigh Sweet Potato and Candied Pecans And do not say no to the pickled veggies because they cut through the richness of everything This place has the flavors of an upscale BBQ restaurant, but it is super casual. Chipotle meets Dino BBQ. I love all the choices and the sides are a great way to individualize your order. I haven’t had the chance to go back yet but I really want to. Great casual dinner place in a great location.

TL;DR It’s a barbecue joint… in manhattan. I mean look… it’s good barbecue, the best brisket I’ve had in NYC(I’ve actually never had brisket at Dino’s so keep that in mind), but man… those prices. I just can’t get over it. I mean I guess this is why I stay away from barbecue joints in NYC in general. I had their brisket and their brontasaurus rib. The brisket was good. It wasn’t dry like most places I’ve had. The rib was delicious, but for 25 bucks… i don’t know… maybe if the prices were like 25% less I would give this place 4 stars. ughhh, why can’t things just be cheaper. ugghhh why is prosperity dumplings still closed!

It really seems like the village positively has no shortage of good restaurants– it’s really unfair. Yes, maybe they don’t have dim sum or some other esoteric things, but Mighty Quinn’s is probably a testament to how much culinary diversity is present down here. Mighty Quinn’s is a no service establishment, so you won’t get any waiter service here. You walk up to the counter(you have to line up), and then you tell them what meat you want once you get to the counter. The range of meats include brisket, smoked sausage, pulled pork, ribs, and one or two other options. After you get your meat, you move on to ask for sides, which include things like mashed sweet potatoes, bacon, cole slaw, etc etc. Personally, I thought that the smoked sausage was actually better than the brisket, which was a little on the dry side. The sides are all good, so I’d go for that. They have fries/pomme frites here or whatever they’re called, but personally I wouldn’t get that as a side, as they’re average, and really not worth getting if you came all the way here just for barbecue. On a side note, the bread pudding is really really good here. Fun experience eating here!

I’ve been wanting to try Mighty Quinns for awhile now but every time the line was way too long and frankly we didn’t want to wait. The Sunday night we went to check out was relatively quiet and plenty of room and not many in line so right on in we went! The choices are easy enough. Sandwich, half or full with sides and drinks as you go down the cafeteria style line. We went for the burnt end, brisket and ribs of course with sides of corn hush puppies, slaw and baked beans. As far as bbq goes it is pretty good. The meat was moist and the sides were all really good especially the hush puppies. Was it as good as other bbq eats in NYC? I’d say it was on par but for me I might like our usually spot in Flat Iron but this is much easier on the wallet.

Hot damn that was some tasty que! Big fat meaty ribs and a large delish amount of brisket with some solid sides. Counter service was fast and efficient. Answered a few questions I had about their que and the gal serving me up even threw in a bit extra. Very friendly and so winning. Lots of seating in here. Grabbed a table and went to town on that scrumptious brisket, along with those meaty delectable ribs. The meat came right off the bone like it should. The sides were good but the star here are the meats. We even dug their smoked sausage. There is some solid BBQ being done in NYC nowadays and Mighty Quinns is rocking the que! Good value for the amount of terrific BBQ we feasted on after a day of Oktoberfest drinking at Zum Schneider! So glad we stumbled in here for a meat coma meal!

Obviously this place is bangin… Perfect for a quick dinner before going out in EV. I ordered the brisket with vinegar coleslaw and an allagash white, with all the pickled vegetables. Friend ordered the pork sandwich and said it was delicious. Everything was super delicious… No one warns you of the questions… Here they are. 1. They ask you which type of meat, and if you want it in a sandwich or not. 2. If you want vinegar or mayo based coleslaw 3. What type of pickled vegetables you want(go with ALL) 4. And 5.(Optional) ask for additional sides(aka fries, fritters) and then any drinks(allagash white). Boom. Done. Also plenty of space to eat in the restaurant!

Came here on a Sunday around 8:30 pm with two friends, after been in a Unilocal elite event. We made the decision to eat here, because one of my friends made a suggestion to come over here, when we arrived to the place I notice that their were a few people in front of us, but she told us that the line was not as long that day, she told us that almost always the line goes out of the room. I order the famous brisket with a side of French Fries. The brisket had a great taste, was tender and very flavorful, when I added the BBQ sauce give an extra yummy taste. Each bit melt and fall apart in my mouth. It was wonderful experience. The fries was good and the portion was good, I ended leave some friends en my plate. The only bad thing about this place is that there is no waiter service here. You order at register and look for whatever seating you can find, if you find it.

Outstanding.
Ladies and gentleman, this is what I call BBQ! Mighty Quinn’s has it mastered. From the moment I stepped out of the über I could smell that magnificent smokey aroma. The second thing I noticed is that the line was literally out of the door. At this point I mentally prepared myself for a long wait but they move the line very quickly. In less than 10 minutes I was placing my order with the staff. This places operates like an assembly line. You go up to the counter and place your meat order, then your sides/drink and then at the end of the counter you pay. That’s it, no servers, no waiting and best of all nobody to tip. Before you know it your sitting down with a mouth full of delicious BBQ. Speaking of BBQ, the food here is just perfection. I can’t say enough how scrumptious everything was. And I mean EVERYTHING. Every meat I tried, every side even the damn tap water was filtered and ICY cold. The Ribs: Perfectly done. There was a nice crispy bark on the exterior and the inside was tender but still firm just like slow smoked BBQ is supposed to be. You could see the smoke rings on the meat, evidence that it’s really cooked by smoke and not direct heat just like they advertise. The ribs had that wonderful smokey pork flavor with just the right amount of salt. I could have eaten the ribs naked and been satisfied but when you pour on that tangy BBQ sauce it complements the flavor of the meat and really seals the deal! The ribs were 5⁄5 The sausage: Really good, great spice and very tender. Not much to say about this item, it’s just sausage. But damn good sausage at that. 4.5÷5 The brisket: just like everything else, smoked to perfection and tender! Brisket is extremely difficult to cook optimally. More times than not it winds up being overlooked and dry. Not at MQ. It was flavorful and juicy. And it’s even better drenched in their proprietary BBQ sauce. 5⁄5 Burnt end beans: Holy smokes! Even the sides are great here. These beans were no exception, I think they Mix in some of their smoked pork into the ribs, all I know is they had a nice sweet flavor and awesome texture. 5⁄5 Broccoli Salad: Excellent. This dish offers a perfect contrast to the warmth and heaviness of everything else on the menu. It was cool, refreshing and tasty. It was up there the best broccoli salads I’ve had 4.5÷5. In summary this is just excellent food. It’s BBQ done right. not only is it the best I’ve had in New York, it’s better than all the places I’ve been in the south as well. Rarely do I eat somewhere and don’t need to ad salt/pepper to my food. Another plus is I feel like I got my money’s worth. A friend and I split the 5 items I listed about and it came out to $ 18 a piece. For that amount I got to try a good portion of the menu. I suggest if your going with a group to order about 1.5 meat items per person and a few sides to share. You will be nice and full! If you can’t tell from this review I will be back to MQ often.

J’y retournerai !
