After an injury earlier this year, I had to find a good physical therapy office that was close to my apartment so that I could be there twice a week without a hassle. I am so happy that I chose Midtown Physical Therapy because Aretha, my physical therapist has been an absolute doll. Not only has she helped me greatly with my injury but her bedside manner is impeccable and she always makes me feel comfortable during my sessions. She is experienced and knowledgeable on a wide range of services and always explains what she is doing/what I should be doing at home to help speed up the healing process. Aretha has helped me start exercising again and reduced a lot of my pain. There are not enough words to describe my appreciation. I had to dock one star for the office because I was disappointed in the way business was handled during Hurricane Sandy. Aretha always has room in her schedule for me and she always gives me the times I need to come in. However, during the week of the storm, both of my appointments were canceled, and I was not informed of their cancellation. It was not until Aretha texted me to tell me we had no PT that day did I know of their office closing. Similarly, once the office reopened, I was not made aware of it. Fortunately Aretha gave me the go-ahead to let me know that I should call to make an appointment so that time slots did not book up. The office did not call me to reschedule or reach out to me in any way which I find disheartening. I understand that many people were out of power and it was hard to make phone calls but in a business where people rely on weekly visits it should have been a priority to reach out to patients or clients. The lack of organization at the front desk was frustrating for me. Luckily I was able to reschedule thanks to Aretha’s help but I think it should have been up to the front desk to reach out and make sure that everyone was back on track after the storm.

AVOIDTHISPLACE at all costs! Disorganized! My massage therapist admitted she never looked at my orthopedist’s records/MRI results of my injury, which was a torn rotator cuff, so she wasn’t working all the areas of my shoulder. Marsha, the owner, would not disclose what she was charging, AIG(workman comp) and only administer 20 minutes of medical massage. Other physical therapist I’ve spoken to told me the time should have been much longer & that something sounded suspicious. She called to cancel my appointment five minutes before I was to go into my session — I had already arrived. AND, when there was some confusion about worker’s comp she waited a week to inform me. The office is dirty & my therapist was always late. Also, Marsha doesn’t give the therapist time between patients so I was rushed out of the room with my shirt barely on & shoes still off. The office staff told me she(Marsha) packs them in so tightly because she’s about making money and not concerned with service. Midtown Therapy & Health Care is the most unprofessional office.
