It comes as no surprise that it would be difficult to gain information about programs offered here — it is run by the NYS Dept of Education. The employees are overworked, underpaid, hostile, hate their jobs, and are not in a position to show compassion or concern for helping others — which is supposed to be the purpose of these programs.
They gave out incorrect information on the telephone, and in person they were even more ineffective, unfriendly, and uncaring when it came to helping you to find out the information you needed.
It is a sad reflection on the state of affairs in this country. Only the most desperate and persevering people could make it through their rig-​a-​marole.
PS — in case they are unable to tell you — in order to be in their programs, you need to be 21 yrs or older. HOWEVER, if you just want to take the GED test, you can be 19 or older but you must be on the waiting list and they will tell you it’s six months. They say they give priority seating to students enrolled in their programs. Over the phone they told me that you could be in a GED prep program if you were 19, but in person they changed their story. Even the vice principle did not know what the policy was, nor did she care to find out for me.

I called in today to ask about the course offerings. The old woman on the phone was very rude and didn’t want to answer my questions. She even had the audacity to hang up on me while I was in mid-​sentence. Rude and disgusting customer service!!!
