Minako has been my stylist for over 15 years now, Lucy is usually the woman who washes my hair, and Tessa almost always takes my reservation for an appointment, which I make religiously every two months.
All three of them (and the rest of the staff, from what I’ve observed) are consummate performers at their jobs. Although Miano Viel is hardly the least expensive salon in town, it’s got to be one of the best — and you get what you pay for.
I’ve often thought of shopping for a cheaper alternative out here in Park Slope (Brooklyn), but vanity and stubbornness keep me coming back to Miano Viel. I can only hope that one of the final trips I take before they drop me into my coffin will be a trip to MV. (I’d like to look my best for the worms.)

My favorite Salon in NYC! The staff is amazing, always attentive to your needs. I live in NJ but work in NY. I tend to make my appointments during a lunch break… and always make it back to work in time. I don’t go anywhere else to get my haircuts, JOY has been cutting my hair for 10years. She’s FANTASTIC!!! Highly recommend this Salon.

Love this salon! Have been here a few times as it was located a block away from my office.
The staff is always very friendly and professional… hate walking into salons where the receptionists are gossiping and not paying attention to the fact that you aren’t standing right in front of them… not here though.
Hands down, the best thing about this place is the massaging chairs during your shampoo. Amazing. Especially amazing during the work week when you just want some relaxing time. Great!
Rebecca has been my stylist here, and she’s great! Love her! She listens to what I like and don’t like, want and don’t want. Totally trust her to take that and cut my hair. Always been happy with the results. Looking forward to when my Japanese straightening grows out so I can do more with my hair. One day…

I came in here for a cut, last year October with Rebecca Deamer and all I have to say as
SHES AMAZING ! this was the first time i was cutting my hair because i never had it cut, she gave me a great bob, with layers and it was just fantastic ! If I had the money to afford a haircut here again I certainly will !!

Hudson Taylor is a very talented hairstylist. I travel to Midtown every month or so for work. I found him by chance and now I’m addicted to his cutting and coloring techniques. His keen eye and charming demeanor are what keep me coming back for more.

I have been going to MV for years – the longest relationship I have ever had with a stylist and salon. Angel is fantastic and knows my quirky hair so well. I can’t imagine going any other place. The other staff are all great as well and they greet me by name and are very easy-​going. Even though the place is always busy, they never rush you and you always seem like you are their only client.

Damien Miano is a master in cutting hair. He cut my hair in a way that not only looked great immediately but also lasted. Major bonus points for a cut that needs next to no styling each morning. I am so happy to get a cut that is so low maintenance right up until my next cut. The salon is clean and the staff is professional. I highly recommend Miano/​Viel.

I’ve been going to Benjamin for about five years, at his old salon and now here. My first time at this salon was very pleasing. The receptionists are nice, and the hair washing is made much more comfortable with massaging chairs. Benjamin does a great job for me and always takes his time making it just right. He uses advanced cutting techniques not seen at a normal barber shop, which is good. I’ve also heard that he does great women’s cuts and is a color specialist. FYI, the salon isnt on the ground floor, you have to go up the elevators.

Joy has now given me 2 great haircuts. I have long wavy hair, and she has given me cuts that look great both straight and wavy. This most recent cut saved me from a botched job at the Aveda Institute, making Joy my new personal hero. I highly recommend her.
