Metropolitan Parking Garage

This parking garage is very expensive compared to other garages in the area. They also take foreverrrrr to get your car back even when it’s slow. Plan on giving them enough time. You’ll still be late for work in the end though.

Avoid at all cost! Very rude staff and long waiting to get your car back!

Got some emails to read on your phone? Are there a few apps you want to download? Feeling like playing a game of chess? Go right ahead! You will have PLENTY of time waiting for your car to be retrieved at the MPG Parking garage in Washington Heights on Broadway and W. 177^th St.
We are monthly parkers and only park here because (A) it’s insanely convenient to our apartment, and (B) the parking lot we were using closed. The monthly rate is no longer a bargain as the price jumped up when the building owner leased two floors used by MPG to the the new Planet Fitness. I guess they are trying to make up for lost revenue.
As a monthly customer, they told us, «Call before you come. That way we can have your car ready when you get here.» Bwwaahahaha!
Even with 30 minutes notice, you can often find yourself waiting ANOTHER 30 minutes after you arrive. Weekday mornings the same group of irritated monthly parkers stand around and bitch about the wait for their car. On weekends, I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve arrived at MPG, no customers in sight, and the attendants are sitting around shooting the s**t. No one moves. No one acknowledges you until you interrupt their conversation. On the flip side, sometimes, our car is waiting at the exit ready to go. Mostly, it’s not. It’s a crap shoot.
The location of the MPG garage is perfect if you are going to a show or event at United Palace up the block, but don’t be in a hurry to get your car back. If it’s slow during work weeks, the wait is devastating during events.
Street parking in The Heights is HELLISH. So MPG serves a purpose; no more circling the block like a shark smelling a tasty surfer in the water. For monthly parking, when it snows, you won’t have to dig your plowed in car out with your empty Dunkin Donuts coffee cup. That said, I really need to find a better local garage…

This place horrible waiting time is forever, 36min!!! Customer service is non exciting, the guys just ignored me, but a lady with a Mercedes Benz paid and had her car in 5 minutes. This place is not very good
