Better than many Irish bars in Manhattan specifically because of the cleanliness. Prices are reasonable and food is above average with regard to quality and taste. Glad to see that there is a traditional bar(not super high end) capable of catering to the booshie residents of the Upper East side.

Wollen nochmal hinfahren. Wird nun meine Lieblingskneipe in NY

Went here for dinner the first night of our visit here. When we walked in, the bar area was crowded and the music up front was loud. There was a smaller area in the back that had tables and a fireplace. We ordered the Shepard Pie and the Chicken Pot Pie. The waitress was very attentive. By the time we got our food(delicious, ready in a timely manner) the music was lower, a had changed from radio tunes to traditional Irish music. Would definitely go back.

Came here on a Saturday night after JG Mellon was too crowded. I had a whiskey ginger ale and the chipotle chicken sandwich. Drink was decent as was the sandwich. Pretty big portion and good flavors. It wasn’t too noisy so was able to talk to my friend and the bartender was friendly and attentive. Decent place to grab a drink and a quick bite to eat.

This is the place you go to when J.G. Melon is too crowded to bear. Simple Irish establishment, standard pub fare and drinks, friendly neighborhood service. Ordered an IPA($ 7) and a chili bowl($ 8). Cheese didn’t really mix well into the meal but was overall satisfying. They also have weekend drink specials — $ 6 rum/cider combo — interesting flavor though I wouldn’t have chosen coconut rum for the base. A couple of flat screens about to watch a game and pretty fast service. Always good to have an Irish pub in the area, three stars.

This is definitely a hidden gem. Great service. Started with a beer at the bar and moved to a table for lunch. We got chicken fingers, a burger, and a chipotle chicken sandwich and all were great. Much better than the average burger or chicken fingers you are thinking. Very clean and laid back atmosphere.

The crab cakes were AMAZING and the server was attentive, too. Although we have returned home, we are still talking about the tasty crab cakes from Seaside, Oregon.

Some friends and I stopped in for a drink and it was fine. We had just come from J.G. Melon(there was a 30min wait) and we were looking for a place to kill time while we planned our next move. This place is fine, it’s a pretty standard bar. There is plenty of room to get around and grab a table and the bartender was a nice woman. Additionally, there were some pretty attractive women in here, which we really did not expect. Overall, we only had one beer before heading out and it was a fine place at which to do just that.

Me and my husband are here visiting for the first time from Portland, OR and we walked into this bar by chance. The staff has been super nice and helpful, the potato skins were yummy, but the drinks are mediocre. Good comfortable, cozy bar vibe. Great for casual stops.

I never thought I’d find my own Tribe on Manhattan’s Yupper Creased Side, so this place was a joy to wander into(Thank you, fellow Unilocalers!). A lively, engaging clientele, friendly bartenders and wait staff, and a top notch Owner whose hands on approach makes you feel right at home. If I lived in this area it would definitely be my local, because the dynamic atmosphere shifts enough each day to keep it interesting. And great music on the Box, as well… I only had a burger here, but it was damn good, and the menu goes a step beyond the usual Pub Fare, so I can’t imagine it would be anything less that terrific. I’ve seen some negative comments about the prices, but considering the cost of Real Estate in these Miracle Miles, I think we’re getting a bargain, especially in view of the quality and ambience offered. Thank you, Glen, for making my late night forays into my stepmother’s neighborhood so enjoyable!

Loved this place. Pass by it everyday and was excited to finally give it a try. Indulged in some spinach and artichoke dip, mozarella sticks and blue moon. Beer was a bit on the pricey side. Food was a decent price and delicious. Dip was more cheesy than artichoke which I loved. They had insanely cushy barstools which were super comfy. Atmosphere was great and they even label the tvs with which sports games are showing to make choosing a seat easier. I definitely plan on going back!

Local place that serves a solid burger and greasy finger foods. My go to for nachos and wings and their onion rings are a must try. Stick to jack and cokes and nothin as sophisticated as a manhattan(tastes like robitissun d!) or you’ll be disappointed. Service is as can be expected: no smiles or politeness but prompt which fits perfectly with a divey pub.

An okay bar. We liked that the place was almost empty on a Saturday afternoon and we got a table just fine(was that a sign?). Sliders were okay, nothing special at all. Nachos were good. Quesadilla was average. Wings were good. Had beers. Whisky was very expensive and served in a very small glass. Service was good.

I go to Mckeown’s quite frequently. This is a rock solid local pub. The current staff is made up of genuinely friendly people, especially Pam waiting tables and Paul behind the bar. I have been patronizing this bar for a couple of years now and the food has really improved. It was never bad but it has gone from average to really good. The spicy chicken curry and the chicken pot pie are winners in my book. McKeown’s is a nice alternative on the weekends from some of the craziness on 2nd Ave. It is lively without being packed and has a low d-bag ratio.

Great local pub. The food and the atmosphere are great. Lots of TVs to watch the game if its on. The food is a step up from most Irish pubs. Te bar snacks are great, fried cheese and the artichoke dip are very tasty. The bartender Paul is great Thursday thru Sunday. High energy and great with all customers. The bar is decorated well and the while place has a nice cosy feeling for a great night out.

Cozy spot in 3rd Ave, with some mean chili and even meaner drinks. Happy hour 4−7PM $ 4 or $ 5 dollar beers, wines and cocktails. Plenty of seating, Samantha, the server, always makes you feel welcome and accommodates your request for a nice toasted bread to go with your chilli. You can talk here over a nice drink with the gals or watch sports at the bar, light music always on. This place is pretty tight.

This is a great place for someone who lives nearby or wandering the area and looking for somewhere to pop in and grab a drink. It’s cool inside and the look of it is cozy and comfortable. They have lots of beers on tap(including most of the summer ales that I love) and lots of large tv’s. The bar is rather big, with plenty of seating and room to sit. Also there are more tables and booths towards the back. The bartenders are really friendly and talkative. Great service! No complaints!

This place is a great local pub — I live just around the corner so often pop in. Trevor, the bartender is ah-mazing — really nice and always makes his patrons feel welcome and at home. Paul, the bartender from Wisconsin gave us cheese and cupcakes which was pretty awesome. Great place for casual, laid back drinks and friendly bartenders :)

One of the few decent bars on the UES, I think. As other Unilocalers have mentioned, though, it is «very UES.» The bartender was a bit slow. Can be super awesome or super slow and hard to get drinks. I don’t like that irregularity, personally.
