I don’t know what happened to Brian H and his experience with Dr. Goldstein, but my 20 year experience with him as my nephrologist and my primary internist /general practioner has been exceptional in both service and care. I admit that being an Old Jew, he can be a curmudgeon at times, but that does not deter from the care he provides. Talk to any of the Mt Sinai older staff members who know him and they will say the same thing: gruff, but great. He will always accommodate you in his office for a visit, just call his office before hand. He will always visit you in the hospital, every day you are there regardless of who admitted you. He will always provide you with accurate and detailed lab reports to take with you when he recommends another specialist. And you must ask him for details or else he will only give you what you need to know and say«don’t worry about it. « When you see other specialists, bring back the report to him, he will analyze it and give you further instructions, because he does have more than half a century of experience. And let him keep all your records, his office does a fantastic job. Without going into further details on my specific health issues on a public forum, I can say that I’ve had numerous chances to switch doctors and some are world renowned, but from personal experience I did not get better service and care than from him.

Very old-school brand of Jewish doctor; GP but specializes in nephrology. Former marathon runner. Big on regular urine and blood samples. Doesn’t like a lot of questions, irritatingly vague on answers, rather dull bedside manner. Wasn’t a lot of help in fixing a simple GI disorder. Visits often felt like a trip to the post office.
