Marianne Ryan Physical Therapy

I was referred to Marianne by a therapist I trust and who has helped with many of the unpleasant symptoms pregnancy brings with it.
The first appointment I left with almost a headache, she talked so much! She was very loud and noisy, asking way too many questions and constantly talking. She gave me her book, which I have found interesting. I had no relief for any of my pains and aches.
I decided to try again even though she is not covered by insurance.
Second time around she manipulated me a lot but again, walking in and walking out made no difference whatsoever. The pain was there. I told her in the middle of the session «what about this, or that pain» she dismissed me, as if, ‘stop talking, who cares really what you feel!‘
Third appointment was horrible. She manipulated and massaged my coccyx even though I didn’t complain or say that I had any sort of pain there. This manipulation was beyond painful. I literally had to hold the table so as not to cry out. I told her it was very painful and asked her if this would help with the sciatica. She was unresponsive to that. She continued doing what she what doing. Like, ‘who are you to ask whatever I am doing!‘
After she was done I told her the pain overall had gotten worse. She told me to ice it (as if I haven’t been icing beforehand!!!) and left it at that.
So, relief? no. Help? none. Did I feel better after any visit? No.
Would I recommend her? Never.
She is knowledgable and her book seems good but her bedside manners, her empathy and her care is horrid. It seems she is seated so high in her throne she doesn’t feel like listening or actually looking at her patients.
