This place was amazing. Before Bahn Mi became the hit that it is now with chain restaurants everywhere, they held it down with so many varieties and mix and match options. I just went looking for it and unfortunately it’s closed. I truly hope they open elsewhere!

This place was amazing. The best bahn mi sandwiches in tribeca with the most variety. Roast Beef Bahn Mi… who can top that? They were always perfectly made with the right amount of all ingredients and the most perfect portion for lunch so you can eat the entire thing and not have a food coma at your desk. Unfortunately i have heart-brokenly learned this week that the entire block of restaurants and bars(almost) has been shuttered for more development in the area. Yay more residential buildings! Hopefully the shop comes back at a different location nearby. It was perfect.

Good spot to pop in for some tasty sandwiches. I look forward to trying again! Ps. I had the lemongrass chicken sandwich — Delicious! Nice snack and drink selection also.

Almond bubble tea is so good and it has high texture of almond and also their Thai Bubble tea is great, better than other cafes. Too bad they don’t have many options like matcha and pearl milk teas.

This place is definitely not a traditional Banh mi sandwich spot. Unfortunately for me, I didn’t realize this until after I had placed my order. It wasn’t very good, and they were very skimpy on the ingredients. Usually the veggies in the sandwich have a pickled taste, and these did not. Strange… At times it tasted as if I was just eating french bread. I asked for my sandwich to be extra spicy which usually means extra jalapenos, but there were 3 total in my sandwich. Sigh… The prices are also high for a banh mi sandwich. Like I said, this is not a traditional viet sandwich spot, but more of a hip spot geared toward the culture of Tribeca. If you want a traditional Banh mi, there’s a really good spot by Mulberry. And tons of other in or around Canal. I wont be trying this place again.

LOVE this place, wish they still delivered down to me near Wall St. I’ve tried all the sandwiches minus the vegetarian ones, not a big fan of that weak nonsense. Had the dumplings too. This place is seriously the best. I used to order so much that the guys would know my order by heart and only had to alter it when I had the feeling to try a different sandwich. If you don’t like spicy food, the mild is probably your best bet. My favorite was the corned beef on 7 grain, but again they’re all good, minus the herbivore ones, can’t speak to the taste.

I ordered the traditional banh mi(spicy) and two pork buns yesterday. I ate the sandwich at the place and oh boy did I make a mess!!! The sandwich is absolutely delicious with bursts of flavors, however, I got bread crumbs all over the table, my chair and on myself! I didn’t enjoy the food as much since I was more paranoid of not making a mess in public. They also added a lot of wet sauce which some people might like or not like. It gets a little messy towards the last few bites. When they say spicy, they mean spicy. My sandwich might have had two raw jalapeño peppers(sliced) inside. I had to take out a few peppers in order for me to enjoy the sandwich comfortably. The pork buns were pretty small but yummy. It could have used a little more filling. I would definitely go back, but next time, I’ll do take out and eat it at work or home! :)

I love bahn mi and the lemongrass pork chop here is super. Crispy bread, juicy pork, fresh veggies and I’m in heaven. Don’t trust me, try this joint and write your own review! Really one of the best in NYC…

Not really your traditional bahn mi spot, especially if you order it with the 7-grain bread. And it’s also weird that when you order one with chicken, you’re essentially getting a grilled chicken sandwich flavored with lemongrass or sate sauce. The flavoring is not bad, but thick slabs of white meat tend to be drier than ideal(smaller seasoned/saucy chopped up chunks tend to be juicier). When I worked around here, it was part of the lunch rotation because it was close, and good enough. Honestly, don’t really see myself coming here ever again unless I’m meeting up with someone who really for some reason loves this place…

I come here for the Vietnamese style sandwiches(Banh Mi). It is a good price for lunch and fairly quick, but made to order so sometimes the line can be out the door. I usually get the lemongrass chicken, extra spicy(with sriracha and jalapenos) on 7 grain baguette. Delicious! In the summer I occasionally come here just to get a bubble tea. This place is takeout only so I always bring it back to the office.

I’d give this place a solid 2.5 stars if I could. First things first, this place has a sign reading«Banh Mi Sandwich» on the door, not«Mangez Avec Moi.» It’s small with about three tiny tables at which to eat, a host of great Chinese and Japanese chips and drinks, Banh mi sandwiches, dumplings and steam buns, and a few other small appetizers. The line was quite long at noon this Saturday and there was only one guy working the place to take orders and make the sandwiches so it took awhile. The credit card machines was also out. I had the traditional Banh Mi sandwich which was fine but nothing special. The veggies were fresh, but the bread could have been crispier and more baguetty, and I wish there was more pâté relative to the rest of the ingredients. The lemongrass chicken dumplings were not super flavorful. I didn’t get much of a lemongrass flavor. The t future tastes more like the reheated frozen meat, not like fresh meat. That said, this is an affordable to-go lunch spot.

It seems that a lot of people are writing reviews for Mangez Avec Moi next door(which btw, the Laotian food there is much better.) The drink selection here is excellent and inexpensive. Have had the traditional and Corned beef(how New Yorky) Banh Mi and I have had 2 of the bun types. Pork bun was mehhh at the best, had some freezer burn. If I only got that, I probably would have given this place a 1. Big buns were better and the filling was more substantial. I’d give it a 2 The traditional Banh Mi was not exactly traditional. No pâté, or at least of what I could say. Bread didn’t have the crunch. It was spicy, but mostly from the Jalapeño’s and they were kinda needed. Corn beef Banh Mi was better but it was still off. Staff is nice enough but they don’t give napkins(really though why wouldn’t you give a napkin for a takeout sandwich?)

Banh Mi itself wasn’t too bad. Not great but not bad. The bubble tea should be skipped. Old mushy tapioca and milk was sour. If you need napkins you need to ask. The surly clerk won’t give it to you.

Sandwich was good, but that’s exactly what it was… a sandwich, not a banh mi. The bread wasn’t a baguette which I didn’t expect would impact the experience so much but it does! And on’t even bother with the pork buns… small, from-the-freezer, over MSG’d.

The Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi didn’t taste like other Bahn Mi I’ve had, but it was still pretty passable. The veggies were good and it was adequately spicy. Still, I felt like something was missing. Four stars, however, for being something totally different and somewhat affordable in an otherwise strange and desolate area.

As a sandwich and a portable lunch it’s decent, and a somewhat better option than Subway around the corner. But as banh mi it’s a very poor rendition. They don’t even attempt to replicate the basic banh mi flavors — veggies are barely pickled(if at all). Zero pâté. The cha lua inside was cut way too thick, such that you’re chomping down on giant slabs of pale rubbery meat and it’s the only thing you taste. Mayonnaisey water seeps out if you hold the sandwich at an angle. I asked for full-on spicy, and it was very much not spicy. The sandwich is squeezed into a round tube shape so it almost looks like a very heavy wrap when you remove it from the bag. $ 6.50 is standard Vietnamese sandwich pricing. Considering the execution of the banh mi, I have no hope for this little lunch shop’s dumplings, summer rolls, or bubble teas. It’s a cute space with two tiny café tables and a colorful wall of generic Asian snacks — shrimp crackers, dried mango. Right next door is Mangez Avec Moi( ), a sit-down Thai restaurant. Assuming they’re affiliated, the restaurant’s Thai food seems unpromising.

I was at the Barnes & Noble nearby, when I got hungry and wanted something for lunch other than soups, pretzels, and etc. I did research on Unilocal and found a Vietnamese sandwich shop and decided to drop by for lunch. Mangez Avec Moi Express reminds me of a deli because there are a lot of drinks here and snacks, but you can also order Banh Mi sandwiches and bubble tea too. I ordered a classic Banh Mi sandwich, not too expensive, but Banh Mi Saigon definitely has it for a cheaper price and bigger size. They have a good variety of sandwiches, but some are more expensive than others. This sandwich shop is rather small. There’s only three tables, so your best bet is to get your food to go. The classic Banh Mi wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. It was missing a key ingredient — the ground pork you would find in most classic sandwiches at most shops. The size was rather small, but filling. The sandwich had a little dash of sweetness in it and creamy. The quality of the sandwich is good for this particular area in TriBeCa, but I still prefer Banh Mi Saigon and there’s more seating area there too.

Pretty good Bahn Mi Sandwiches! I usually get the Lemon Grass chicken spicy. And their Spicy is really spicy. Go with the siracha sauce if you can’t handle dizillion jalepeno peppers in your sandwich. Their portions are big too compared to the price($ 6.5). When i order their sandwich it usually lasts me lunch and afternoon snack. They also have those asian snacks like«Sea Weed», «Gummies», «Spicy Peanuts», «Shrimp flavored crackers» etc. I always grab one or two on my way out to munch later. I wish their bubble tea was as good. With so many bubble tea options in the city, their bubble tea sucks and the worst being the lychee green tea. I have had different flavors on different ocassions and always been dissapointed. They have limited seating up front. Lot of people do take out, so I never had difficulty getting a seat.

I had not been here in a year and I now remember why I love this place. The Banh Mi Traditional spicy is delicious and sized to satisfy. Great selection of snacks and drinks as well. Service is fast and friendly. The bread is not as crusty as other Banh Mi’s but still works nicely. Veggies are crunchy and fresh. The pork is heavenly and the sauce delicious but not truly traditional. I will be coming here more often now that I’m working around here.

Fast and quick Price: expensive for what I’m used to but it’s NYC so it’s understandable. Regular ham or lemon grass is around $ 6.50.7 with tax Lemon grass chicken Banh mi: I like how this is fresh and made on the spot. The chicken was a little dry than I like it, but still decent. The flavor is ok. At least it’s not bland, but it doesn’t have that pickled flavor that I like from the veggies. The bread however way very fresh and soft easy to bite into just how I like it!
