Very nice bar. I came few times for drinks after work when I worked in the area. They have a hidden door to enter the bar from the restaurant next door. I’m not a fan of Gin but they were severing it with a spoon of jam and I liked it!

It’s Saturday night, and they rushed us out. Service was overall very rude — no customer service. Won’t come back for mediocre overpriced drinks.

So disappointed in this place. Been meaning to try it out for the longest time but was nothing like I imagined. First of all, for a gin place it is very ratchet. No seats anywhere but not in the good way like Bathtub Gin(because you know that place is good). Tried 4 different cocktails on the menu and none of them were memorable, in fact 2 of them were bad. Don’t come here.

Understated exterior, and the bar is so crammed, but I always love the music here and it’s perfect for dancing with a small group of friends.

Feels and looks like the dark speakeasy-seque place that it is. We couldn’t find the entrance at first, and were escorted through a «secret passageway» from adjacent restaurant. Pretty cool. Dimlit, dark, and sexy vibe. Nice spot, nice drink selection.

Came here over the weekend and thought that this place was pretty cool. This place is hard to find, if you don’t ask you’ll walk right by it! I was just told«look for 4 Bleecker». Umm Ok. There is no signage suggesting what this place is called or even the address which is weird. Anyhow when I arrived the place was packed. Luckily someone was holding a seat for me at the bar. The drinks here are definitely pretty solid. I asked the bartender Timothy for a Kettle & Club which they did not have but he made me something similar which tasted delicious, actually better than a Kettle & Club. I wouldn’t say that this is a mixology bar but I can say that the bartenders can and will make specialty drinks here. They did have a DJ who played great music, I was definitely singing all night. The one thing that I did not like about this place is that there is only 1 individual bathroom for both men and women. People were going across the street to use the restroom in order to avoid the long line. Its also kind of cramped in here because this place is small but I always play the bar anyway. Overall this is a cool place in NOHO to grab a drink and listen to some music. I recommend!

Cocktails were okay. But the food was terrible! The summer rolls are basically just wet sliced carrots wrapped in crepes, chicken wings were too much sauce too sweet never had bad chicken wings like this. Never again.

My two stars are given to the service, The staffs are very nice… Very friendly But the food. Terrible! We ordered summer roll, crispy wings, and tuna tartare. Total fail. Summer roll is just rice paper wrapped with raw carrots.ew. Crispy wing taste like spicy general chicken … Ew again. Tuna tartare is raw, usually it is very hard to fail raw food. But they did it! Wow… I guess I should not blame the food. Cuz I should not go to an American lounge for Asian food… Meh

Fantastic gin selection! Nice ambiance and a great if you’re looking to get away from the loud college crowd. The music the DJ plays takes me back to high school which is actually a good thing. Not the ideal place to hangout once it gets crowded, as the place is pretty small. Great spot to start your night off with.

This is a cool spot just to chill at. The space has nice movement to it. It’s not a boring single-room bar. The music is pretty loud, so you’ll have to speak loudly to be heard. There were a few interesting-sounding cocktails, but no sweet, girly drinks.

Honestly, I was probably expecting way too much because of all the praise this place gets. I will admit their gin selection is absolutely HEAVENLY for the gin drinker. I had two specials myself & left preeeetty buzzed if I do say so myself(& Im not that much of a lightweight for gin). Their deviled eggs are top notch! Can’t say the same about their famously rated steamed duck dumplings… But it was still relatively tasty. Considering the place is kinda dark & filled with people who are too busy talking rather than telling the poor bartender waiting there what they want to order, I felt pretty ignored waiting to order. So the servicing could be improved a little. All in all, I’d come here again for a casual drink with some friends.

I want to say these could be the best drinks I have had in the city. Could be that I was also having a really insanely good time with my girls though. Atmosphere is fun and sexy. People spontaneously dance and the cocktails are so well made that I wanted to keep ordering everything, so it takes restraint. Would try a Tues or Wed. here though as it can get really busy later in the week and it feels best as an intimate spot for locals. Will be back for sure!

Absolutely horrible service, worst bartender and bouncers who give you unnecessary attitude, long wait for a drink, disgustingly crowded with people pushing their way through and falling over Apart from that the drinks were good

Walked in after stumbling upon here on Unilocal and I must say it was a rather interesting experience. I met up here for a first date and had no idea there were so many types of gin! I’m a whiskey/scotch guy and the bartender made two recommendations that were spot on. I didn’t get her name but she was awesome. Interesting ambiance. I think the best way to describe it would be industrial meets victorian? The bathroom was pretty frigid, and dark(almost like a dark room — well more like a dungeon). Overall good experience. It was empty when I got there(around 7 on a Sunday) but pretty soon others funneled it. Music was controlled via iPod I believe and they were bumping some old school hip hop which was pretty chill. I’d come back.

I came here spur of the moment last Friday night with a few people. We were rolling deep in Colombians. The lounge itself I have passed about a million times without even a thought but it is truely nice inside. Typical for the area, it is a narrow niche of a space but decorated in a alovely SpeakEasy vibe. The bar extended into a table were the DJ and other patrons can sit and chat and the menu boasts everyting from Whiskey to St. Germaine cocktails. There are great couchs to lay on if you want or plenty of standing room. The music was right up my alley: pause and don’t laugh: Early 90s hip hop and r&b!!! Yup your girl was Geeking out to the sounds of Mary J Blige’s «Real Love» and Jay-Z’s «Can I Get A…». Oh it brought me back to those high school days. The noise level is just loud enough that you can’t hear other peoples«drunk speak» but quiet enough that you can hear your friend’s. The bar closes around 3am and are very kind about«gently» cohorsing patrons out into the mean streets of the LES. If you are looking for a place to move the night/morning festivities to, there are plenty of 6am bars around this area to help. All in all a fun few hours.

Beautiful space and great service. Start with a homemade cocktail(The Jam Drink is quite tasty) and try their«Madam’s Treats» for light bites. The Duck Steamed Buns are phenomenal — must have! My next favorite is the Tuna Tartare. Other innovative appetizers include Shishito Peppers and savory Squid. Loved the mix of roomy bar seating, regular tables, and cozy couches. You can have a quick cocktail hour with friends or come for a unique date with classy light bites. Do it!

This place was ok. They did not have the largest food selection and the place pretty dark and got loud. The bartender/server was nice though. It was clear everyone in our group preferred sweeter drinks, so he helped tell us which ones were sweetest and offered to make some sweeter for us. The drinks were pretty tasty, but the food was a bit salty. There’s also no real waiter, so it was a bit difficult to flag someone down when you needed something. It’s a smallish space, better for drinks/lounging. One big negative was that we found a bug on our table! We eliminated it quickly, but still…

Cute, cozy spot for drinks. The place is small, but the set up is pretty cute. Good variety of drinks on the menu with a little speakeasy feel. Service was good and the cocktails were delicious. Music was not too loud, so you can enjoy the company of your guests. There is also only one bathroom which is annoying.

Do you like 90’s hop-hop? If so, this is the right place for you! I’m an 80’s baby and a 90’s kid and so this place plays music that is very nostalgic for me. The drinks here are moderately priced and they have some great cocktails. The only problem I have with this place is that the venue is small. There area also a bunch of other great bars in the area such as the Bowery Electric and the Wren so you can always bar hop. I definitely suggest this place for happy hour if you’re going on a first date or just catching up with friends for drinks.

What I liked about Madam Geneva was the décor and all the delicious Gin based cocktails on the menu. I didn’t care for the service though. If you are seated in the lounge area don’t expect table service. You won’t be given menus, so be sure to grab them before you sit down, and expect to wait at least 30 – 40 minutes to put in your drink orders(even before they get packed), or you could just stick to the bar area, where the service seemed a bit quicker. I don’t know what the crowd is typically like here, but on a Friday night it was a much older group and the music wasn’t great. It was perfectly fine for catching up with some friends, but as a whole it wasn’t what I expected.
