Awesome service. Two mini tables for seating. Enjoy their cookies and tea here. Also you can order a fruit cake on the same day and pick it up in a few hours. Get the chestnut fruitcake!

one of the best bakeries that is still around chinatown! i love their bubble tea and you won’t believe it but their cakes is incredibly good as well!!! I usually get buns and bubble tea from here when i am around this side of chinatown! Everything see to be like an orginal bakery which is what i like. I like their tea and their buns. Also it is not $ 2 for a damn hot drink… other places are so much more expensive!

Meh. Came here specifically for the pineapple bun, and thought it was only okay. Though it was a good size, I wish both the crust and bread was sweeter. Also, I found the bread to be a little dry. Not bad for $ 0.80, but not worth coming back for as there are better options in the area. This place is small and has a couple tables to sit at. Depending on how empty it is, you could be able to fit a stroller and/or wheelchair inside without issue. Cash only.

Two egg tarts for $ 1 from Thursday to Sunday! That’s what I usually go there for. Given the price point, the egg tarts taste decent, though there isn’t much filling. But they do the job. There are many other specials as well, including green tea cake, bubble teas, etc; you would notice upon entering. Pineapple with custard bun is above average: warm, crunchy, sweet, and soft. I would definitely visit again!

Great quick grab and go bakery with tasty breakfast and luncheon pastries. And great hot steaming coffee. Sweet pork bun — different from the steamed ones, these are baked. Delicious. Egg custard tarts yummy. Wonderful creamy corn bun. Pineapple bun very tasty. They also have sticky rice, and packaged buns as well as loaves of sandwich bread. It’s tiny and often crowded with only two small tables — but you don’t want to sit here and eat, it’s grab and go and it’s really worth it. I love the boxed almond cookies, super crunchy. Step up quickly and be loud, or other customers will keep pushing in front of you.

Grabbed the last pineapple bun here but was very unimpressed. Don’t think the 2/$ 1 mentioned by Amy H. would’ve eased the pain.

If I can give it NO stars I would. Their bake goods are average like everywhere else. The wedding cakes are HORRIBLE. DONOTBEDECIEVED by the wedding cakes in the window… They will say they’ll make it like pictured but at the end. without your consent they will make it with left over items and completely different. My friend received her wedding cake with rainbow dots everywhere, sloppy frosting, and each layer was CRACKED! It looked like it was for a gay wedding. It was horrible and they refused to do anything about it. Not only that the delivery guys tried to fix it with their dirty hands. DONOTRUIN your wedding day by saving a few bucks going to this place. ITSNOTWORTHIT!

I ordered a wedding cake here. They have great designs and great prices. BUTTHEYFREAKINGDELIVEREDTHEWRONGCAKE! I don’t know who’s order got mixed up but I was so upset. When they delivered it, I told them it was wrong and the delivery ppl asked us to call them. When my bridesmaids called, they said it was 6pm and the boss left already. There was nothing I could do except keep the cake. The next day when I went to the bakery to talk to them… they said they couldn’t do anything cuz we ate the cake. WEREWESUPPOSEDTOGOWITHOUT A WEDDINGCAKE? I was speechless.

The most delicious red bean bun I have ever had ever. Sweet but not too sweet and chewy bread. Theyre only 50cents at times. What a steal!

This place is disgusting. This seems to be a small bakery located on E Broadway. I never really noticed it until I passed by and decided to just go in and have a look. This bakery reminds me of a very traditional style of serving. like the olden days where many old folks came in and ask for a cup of coffee and a bun. and it reminds me of Malaysia. :D The winter melon and red bean paste biscuit are really cheap. all in a box for 2? don’t remember. but i remember is lot more cheaper than taipan and fay da. Taipan and Fay Da are located in Canal where everyone passes by that’s why the price are a little expensive. but here. You can see that the biscuits contain lots of paste. unlike many bakeries. the biscuit contains a lot of flour and probably 25% paste. ish. that’s what happen to the bakeries in Taipan and FayDa. I am just being honest. Too bad. they never sell it individually. I am the only person who eat it and I don’t want it to be spoilt cause I know the baked goods can’t keep for a long time. and the buns are all nicely display. cakes too!!! :) The pineapple bun is served warm. :D I am gonna try it in the future. I bought a meat floss cake and the black sesame cake. The meat floss cake tasted really good but a little too much cream and I wished they can put more meat floss. :D the black sesame cake is just normal. :) I wanna come back here and get the winter melon biscuit, pineapple bun, and the cake.

What I normally get in a bakery(plain pineapple bun and milk tea) is $ 1.85. These wonderful ladies give it to you for $ 1.40. I feel like like canal street is definitely over priced. Their pineapple buns dont sit in the display rack. They put it in those little tray carts behind them so they’re nice, warm and crunchy when they give it to you.

I no longer need to hit up Starbucks before getting on the train to work. In this recession… who can afford Starbucks every day?! On that note, a coffee here is less than $ 1…Baked goods will run u 40 cents to $ 1 something(savory items are more). Bubble tea is about $ 3. My new morning expenditures: Coffee + fresh pastry. Less than $ 2. SCOREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!(Pineapple bun +coffee =$ 1.40) Can’t decide between the pineapple bun or the sponge cake? Looking at the egg tarts? Well today I got the«pineapple roll» which is GENIUS and DELICIOUS. Basically a spongecake roll with custard in the center and the pineapple topping on it. Ugh me LOVES. Pineapple Bun is still my #1 though… always and forever! This is Chinatown though so a few words of warning to those who are not used to it… 1. It’s not a cute place to have coffee w your girlfriends. It serves a purpose and is bustling with Chinese people moving in and out 2. «small coffee» given to u will have cream and sugar in it. They won’t ask u what u want but I guess if u are lactose intolerant u can wave NOMILK!!! 3. There is no real«line». U just walk up and look and people will shove around you with money to get what they came for. Be a little aggressive or they won’t know you are ready!

Current favorite place for the Chinese, «Pineapple Buns»! They taste like the ones I had growing up — nice and golden on top, with an even sugary coating that makes for a light and crispy bite along with the doughy bun. Yum! You also can’t beat the weekly discounts they have here: 2 for $ 1(on selective) pastries and buns on Thursday, Friday and Saturday(all day)! I’d suggest getting the: egg tarts, pineapple buns, pineapple bun w/red bean filling. Other family favorites(tho I don’t really prefer) include the:(triangle) sponge w/light cream filling and the green tea jelly roll(pictured), pineapple bun w/green bean filling, and sponge cakes.

I found this place on accident when I was looking for a quick bite before going to my Ortho’s office which is nearby. I am a big fan of their egg custard which is made just the way I like it. A crispy, loosely layered crust which fall apart when you bite into it and a delicious eggy center. I also like the pineapple bun, which has a nice, sweet layer of pineapple crumbs and a soft bun underneath. Best time to go is in the morning, everything is served fresh and straight out of the oven. :)

Formerly King Wah Bakery, now under new management and new name of M&W Bakery with same great quality and taste! Own and operated by the original wave of Chinese immigrants – Toisan as they are probably a few Toisan bakeries, sadly, last standing. I love their shrimp chips, faht go(sticky cupcakes) for Lunar New Year!

They make very good egg custard tarts at this place, and the red bean bakes are mammoth. I always try to get my fill of red beans since they got more antioxidants than wild blueberries. It got sugar in it but to me sugar isn’t a bad thing if you keep it low in your diet. Their roast pork buns are also pretty good at this place at the time of this writing. Prices are pretty reasonable at this shop and I’m always happy to visit this place when I’m in the neighborhood.
