Great location at Gansevoort Market! I haven’t tried the pizza by the slice, at an average of $ 6, I usually opt for the small 10″ pies. The 10″ pies are made fresh and only takes about 3minutes. They usually don’t have a menu available, but you can choose a specialty pie based on the slices they have available. Price is around $ 11 but will vary a bit based on the toppings u want. This is enough for 1 – 2 people(or just me on a really hungry day!) Pizza is pretty good for the price. Serafina across the street will easily run up to $ 20 for about the same. I recommend only ordering the made to order pies. I personally wouldn’t order the slices, there’s no sneeze guard and always flies around the space since Gansevoort market usually leave the doors open.

What a wonderful return to NY style pizza! We tried the arugula and prosciutto pizza on Saturday and were blown away. Slices are served fresh out of the oven even at the busy Gansevoort Market location!

pizza was just fine, but it was good enough for someone walking through looking for a quick,(moderately) cheap bite. got the four formaggio($ 5), and they didn’t really warm it up that well… but it was still okay. maybe if they had warmed it up better, i wouldn’t be so turned off by the globs of hard cheese.

Pizza was just ok. I’ve had a lot better at many places in NY. Small slice was almost $ 6 and they refused to give free water.(They had cups and a sink). The owner was very rude and was nasty to the cashier when she asked if she could give us water. And… they had a Grade Pending rating from the health department, which is nasty. That means bugs, etc.(I didn’t see the rating until we left)

Had the arugula pizza, it was decent but for the price I think there are better pizzas out there. Also they won’t give you free tap water, yet there are stacks of empty cups on the table… so weird and possibly illegal.

This is why NYC pizza rules. My case in point is Luzzo’s at the Gansevoort Market. My family and I were shopping at Chelsea Market and wanted to eat Sunday dinner. We had plans to go to Rana’s but the Gansevoort market is close and to me its the little market engine that could in my book. We walk into the Gansevoort market and the three of us have the Wizard of Oz effect, just like when the movie went from Black & White to Color. Our jaws drop and we start walking and pointing: BBQ! Lobster! No. I know the real deal and prance over to the Luzzo’s pizza spot. I see The Diavolo in all it’s stunning glory as well as a unnamed pizza. It has prosciutto, cheese and walnuts(??) and oh yes, this is a special pizza topped with truffle oil. Large please. We grab a small table and dive in. OMG, the special pizza with prosciutto, cheese, walnuts(??) and topped with truffle oil is insane! The three of us are almost in tears it’s so good. Luzzo’s is one of my favorite NYC pizzas. To have Luzzo’s close to the High Line in the Gansevoort market makes it such a nice spot to visit. Another thing to point out, the cool thing about this Luzzo’s, they sell slices so you don’t have a big pizza commitment. Luzzo’s makes a great pizza! To have it by the High Line entrance is an extra treat. Find this place!
