Ordered delivery that was scheduled to arrive at 10:30. It is currently 11:10 and have heard radio silence. I’ve called the restaurant 4 times to check on the order to no avail, with no answer. Will not be ordering from here again.

Been coming here since they opened. Artichoke hearts have always been on the menu… highly recommend. Tonight tried the octopus and kale salad, new to the menu, also highly recommend. Totally laid back place with good food & delicious beer. Give it a try!

Maybe I’m giving 5 stars because I didn’t expect it to be this good. Great atmospheric setting — I never felt myself saying ‘hey, I’m in a basement’. I had the eggplant with burrata and grilled branzino, both perfectly done. What really blew me away was the wine: they only have 3 or 4 reds or whites, but they obviously put time and thought into it. My malbec was the best of it’s kind I’ve ever had, and I’m eager to try the rest to see if it’s a trend. Maybe it just hit me right, I dunno. I got lucky with the music. They don’t keep up with the acts on the website. A few nights previous when I planned my trip I was in a somewhat raunchy mood and picked the night for the performance. What I found instead was a young couple up from DC playing jazz flute and guitar, joined by a saxophonist whose couch they were sleeping on. She was also doing American Songbook with a lovely smoky voice. Fit my mood perfectly and made my evening complete. The place was nearly empty, which it didn’t deserve. The musicians said they had been here before and it was packed, so it’s rather random. The bartender was also the waitress, and though after she took my order I had to get her attention for further service, all it took was looking her direction and she immediately responded. Maybe some people would drop a star for that but I didn’t find it to be a problem. I think when crowded it may be. There’s also upstairs seating with some outdoor tables, good if theirs no music downstairs I think. Could be worth it for sampling their small selection of excellent food and wine.

This place is great! We went the first night of their new menu, so everything was 20% off which was awesome. We got the Branzino and the crab and risotto gnocchi. Wow both dishes were really good. The Branzino was so fresh and the sauce complemented it perfectly. The gnocchi was tasty and creamy with plenty of crab. I would definitely checkig this restaurant out.

Beautiful space in a surprising location. Only had drinks, but they were delicious and the staff incredibly friendly.

This place has a great atmosphere and good food, but the only complaint I would have is the overwhelmingly loud live music. The minute it started it became impossible to hear anything my date was saying(and he was sitting right across from me, leaning forward). While the food was yummy and it was nicely decorated, I would make sure there’s no live music before you go.

Had a great experience at Lura. Food was very good, I had the flat bread. Drinks were very good too. Music by the Cabinet Makers added a romantic feel to the place.

The place says dinner is from 4 – 12 but if you get here before 6 pm you’ll have to eat in the bar. I found my chicken was GREAT — Chicken Schnitzel — however my friend’s Salmon was under cooked. Good overall

We visited Lura for a weekday date night. It had a nice atmosphere with decent, chill live music and dimmed lights. We ordered a couple cocktails, including the bourbon smash and the olive martini. The cocktails were pretty good but not great. We wanted small plates, and we ordered the minstrel greens and tahini spread with pita bread based upon the server’s recommendation. Both items were delicious. Despite the decent cocktails and small plates that were surprisingly tasty, we don’t plan to return anytime soon. I give my experience at Lura 3 stars because of the barely attentive service. When we placed our drink order, the place was nearly empty. Yet it took the waitress 20 minutes to deliver our drinks. She was apologetic so we decided it was simply an accident and gladly enjoyed our drinks when they arrived. When we ordered a second round, we had the same slow service to the point that we thought the server(us being her only table at this point) forgot about us. Not to mention, when we tried to pay for the check, we had to actually walk up to hand her the card while she was chatting with the bartender. It was date night so we were happy for a slow evening and relaxed conversation… But seriously? The snail speed of service was simply unjustified.

Great food every time I have been here. They have different Mediterranean style kitchen and the small dishes are all delicious. When I go there I can’t decide on what to get because everything is delicious so I have always ordered a bunch of small dishes and they have never disappointed. The atmosphere is great as well, and the drinks are delish. Go there for lunch or dinner. You won’t be disappointed.

Ive only been here for drinks but the price and strength of them, and the truly awesome bartenders I’ve encountered here deserve the stars. Definitely need to come for dinner soon, perfect date spot with a lower level that gives you plenty of seating options.

Christine was the name of one of the most awesome waitresses I have encountered in NYC. The kind of waitress that reads what you will want, and then suggest it right before you are just about to do so yourself. Lura is a cute establishment that needs more people that care about it to be involved in it. I’ll skip the silly mishaps that could happen in just about any establishment, at just about any moment because at the end of our meal every single one of them became irrelevant. I had an amazing meal(unlimited mussels for $ 17 on Tuesdays), and, some REALLY good $ 4(Happy Hour [4PM-7PM] pricing) margaritas. The place is intriguingly unique. There are about 3 tables outside, in the front, that seat a total of about 10 people. There is a 5 person table on the first floor, and a 2 and ½ person bar up there too. Downstairs, there is a much bigger bar, and a much bigger dining room. A nice touch to an area with already so much natural character and swagger. A character and swagger to it that does not need to be published anywhere because it must only be experienced. Anyway, it calls your name, you stop and look at the menu and you might walk away because it might be intimidating to go inside and down the steps, but just do it. I mean, how many other things of much lesser quality have you just dove into? Enjoy, appreciate, and more importantly just«live in-the-moment».

Hidden Gem Ordered sausage linguini and rack of lamb. Lamb was perfectly done with nice char. Sausage linguini was garlic heaven. Glass if Italian red was bold and matched with the lamb. All nicely priced. Would come again!

I really wanted to love this place! I came here on a Saturday night a few weeks back for dinner and a glass of wine with a friend. We sat outside on the patio and quickly realized that the loud Top 40 hits playing from the electronics store right next to our table was not going to stop(out of terrible quality speakers too, what kind of electronics store thinks that’s a good way to sell products?!). Whatever, I can deal. The waitress was really sweet and brought out our wine in a reasonable amount of time, but we waited around an hour and a half for our food. I understand it was a Saturday night and they were very busy, but they should hire more staff! The waitress was clearly overwhelmed and it was hard to get her attention. We asked about our food multiple times, because other people who came in after us had eaten and left before our dinner came out. The lady at the table next to ours was a regular and she complained about her food and the loud, terrible music and ended up getting some things comped. My mushroom risotto was good but my friend’s schnitzel was bland. Overall, this seemed like a nice neighborhood spot but I don’t think I’ll be back.

Adorable place! We sat outside(seating for about 10) and the upstairs is tiny(seats 4?) with the cutest little bar ever. I didn’t venture downstairs this time. The Brussels sprouts were good, the ferges(homemade cheese spread) and fries were awesome, the mussels were ok– didn’t seem super fresh but the broth was nice. Lots of sharable food. The prices are reasonable and the waitress was sweet and casual. Will definitely be a frequent diner here.

Second time here. Just as good as I remembered. Totally love it. Very generous martini & awesome Cosmo. Wonderful shared large plates –all sorts of dips & spreads. We sat upstairs, open window, balmy night, music from below, easy to have a great visit & conversation. A new favorite spot when I’m in town.

Great date spot. A casual and comfortable place to get a glass of wine and have a light meal or snack. Intimate and quiet atmosphere. Not ideal for large groups. I enjoyed it very much and would probably go back.

This is my favorite bar on the upper west side. It’s great for weeknights and weekends. It’s never too packed, the drinks are great, the staff is really friendly(I’ve only been a handful of times but the owner and chef have both introduced themselves to me). This is my go-to bar reco for dates and birthday gatherings in the neighborhood.(I had my Birthday Party there in February). There’s a great cocktail list! Reasonable prices and creative options. Yet, another great find, thanx to dining vouchers. Hubby, my boy and I came here one night this week for din. We had a voucher for four people so that meant extra food! We shared the Calimari for starters and it was good. I assumed it to be fried as there was no description onthe menu but it was more on the sauteed side but still tasty. It was accompanied by a nice marinara sauce that offered some tang and acid to the dish. We also shared the Merguez-Stuffed Mushrooms. They were okay. I love the taste of merguez sausage but it didn’t really taste the same as what I’ve had in the past. It was still good, though, and I started to eat pieces of the mushroom and sausage with the marinara sauce from the calimari and that proved to mesh well together. Hubby and my son had the Steak Frites and the steak was beautifully seasoned. I went for the Pasta de Cozze which was, again, okay. It would have been a little better with a heartier sauce. It was missing something to me. We all shared the Lamb Sliders as the forth entrée and I do have to say that they were the best lamb burgers I have had thus far. Well-seasoned and cooked properly to temp; a perfect medium. They were great and I kind of wish I had ordered them for my entrée instead. The food was good; the atmosphere and décor are so cool. I am really feeling this spot and I would love to come back for dinner again. If you do, eat downstairs. It almost feels as though you’re hiding out from villains or something.
