Aggressive price for a lackluster product, and they can’t even bother to give you rewards points on the total($ 19.60 gets you just 18 points). Food took a while despite being the only customer, and all the counters were still dirty. The $ 19.60 coastal(listed on the menu as your standard CT lobster roll) was somehow very oddly and nontraditionally seasoned, with a very weird texture to both the bun and much of the meat. We’ll see how long this joint lasts with Lobster Press right down the block within The Pennsy. Plus, it’s closed weekends?

I’m a huge fan of lobster rolls. This has got to the the worst one I have ever tasted. I ordered the Coastal. Bland, thick stale bread, stale chips. It is 12:20pm on a weekday near Penn Station and this place is completely empty. I am the only customer. Wonder why that is? Luke’s is further down the road, costs more, and is always packed for lunch. Two stars because the service was good.

This place is ok. I went here on a Tuesday evening around 7. We were the only people in the establishment. The lobster rolls are pretty pricey &$ 16 and up. I settled for the lobster quesadilla. I was pretty unpleased w the presence and portion. The quesadilla was flimsy. Not a good portion. The quesadilla came w chips. For the price I feel they could have added fries or a salad.

I came in here at about 3 pm on a Monday and the place was empty. I wasn’t sure it was open at first but I’m so glad I stopped in. I got the surf and turf lobster roll. It contains pieces of flank steak and generous pieces of lobster with a garlic aoili sauce. It was delicious! The bread is very soft and buttery. It’s lightly toasted on the outside. Every bite was just as good as the first one. The rolls come with plain ridged potato chips. It’s a bit expensive but not surprising because it’s in New York City and right across from MSG. They have a few beers on tap and canned sodas and bottled water. I was even digging the music selection. Literally I could’ve licked the paper food container. I also went back the next day and got the heatwave lobster roll and that one was amazing as well! I don’t think any of them are bad even though I’ve only tried two. I can’t wait to go back.

The best lobster bisque evah!!! Thick buttery and creamy — just what you don’t need but it’s DELICIOUS!!! The lobster rolls are generous and delicious. My favorite is the spicy one. The mac and cheese is nice too. This is a great place when you are in the mood for a lobster roll.

WOW! This lobster is no joke! I ordered the ‘Heat Wave’ and it blew my mind. Lobster was warm and perfectly seasoned. The bread is soft and buttery, but still crispy. Amazing! They also have a great happy hour, and the people who work here are really awesome! I definitely recommend. There aren’t many places like this in NYC…

I also should’ve read the reviews. The lobster roll was dry, bland and they seemed to give me a two teaspoons of lobster. Spend your $ 20 elsewhere.

A great portion Lobster Roll! A little plain taste but I think that’s more natural.

I do not write a lot of reviews but here’s the gist of this place. I got the coastal roll. $ 17 for this? Seriously? Really? No seasoning, Dry lobster, no sauce… and some cheap half stale potato chips… I have this terrible dream where I spend close to $ 60 for three of these, and I walk out with 3 little boxes not enough to fill me up. This is a major fail.

I was kinda nervous when no one was in the restaurant at 1:30p. I mean no one. This restaurant is located in Penn Plaza in a 30 story building and it is completely empty at lunch time? They gave me a taste of the Clam Chowder and it was adequate but not enough for me to order. I had the house salad($ 10.00) tasty and spicy but based on the reviews I probably won’t be back for the lobster. Whoever the owner is they better get on the ball because I am sure there rent is high and how difficult is is to make lobster taste good.

This is another occasion when I could have saved myself some money and frustration by checking the Unilocal reviews first. Dang! This was a really cute storefront, and they purported to have a few different types of lobster rolls, so I figured I’d splurge and get a $ 17 roll. Just like everyone else said, the roll had zero sauce or flavor. It was partly my fault for not scrutinizing the description on the menu but still… why no mayo? People have been Unilocaling about this problem for months! Even if I had gotten some mayo, I wouldn’t have continued to eat the roll. The lobster itself didn’t have a nice lobster flavor and the chunks were so big and chewy, biting into them was becoming difficult. I read someone else’s review of this place and saw they took one bite, put their sandwich down, and just ate their chips. That review really resonated with me because that’s exactly what I did.

I never knew that a lobster roll could taste so dry! No sauce or flavor. Also ordered the bisque with ZERO lobster chunks — ZIP… NADA…NOTHING. The chips and water were the highlight. Don’t waste your 30 bucks here and check out Luke’s or ANYPLACE else. Nice space. Bad food.

The décor and atmosphere of this little restaurant are great. The food is okay. They are generous with the lobster, but the roll is disappointing. It’s dry and there isn’t much garnishing it to give it the right texture and moisture that you expect from a lobster roll. It’s pretty good but it won’t be a regular stop for me.

This is my second time here I tried their BLT, lobster mac and cheese and their California roll plus lobster salad. It was really unique for a midtown restaurant. Their choice of fresh seafood is truly a plus for this neighbor which lack good fast seafood places. What I like the most is their outside sitting plus their mixed chives of Beer and Wine. I tried their Chardonnay and really improved my taste buds. I believe trying this place for a nice lunch is worth the try and would bring a new taste in this crowded midtown neighborhood with limited choices of cuisine. Visit this place and judge for yourself. Hope my review is useful for first visitors.

Gave this place 2 stars for location and clean outdoor seating… I was so excited when I seen the size of my lobster roll and how it was stuffed with succulent meat! However 1 bite into my roll and my hopes were deflated! This is the driest most bland lobster roll I’ve ever tasted! For 20 bucks can you season my meat a dash of celery salt perhaps? I work in the area so when my friend suggested it I jumped at the thought of a lobster roll… I wish I would have read the Unilocal reviews first… Kinda sad I wasted 20 bucks btw I ordered the blt lobster roll my friend ordered the spicy lobster roll both very LACKLUSTER…

I tried this place for the second time today. First time, I came with friends and had the coaster. It was a nice place to sit and have lunch on a Friday. The roll was large with lots of lobster but lacked spice. It was pretty bland compared to my favorite, Luke’s. The lobster also tasted a bit dry. Though it wasn’t the best roll I’ve had, I would eat it again(there’s not a lot of fresh food options around herald square/penn station). Today, I tried the lobster tacos. These were better than the roll. It had a lot more flavor and had a good spice to it. It does need better quality lettuce. Both meals came with chips on the side. I wish they would use a more traditional new england chip. The ones that they give with it are pretty boring. Overall, I wish the quality of the food matched the beautiful décor of the place.

I cant… deal…with…no…seasoning. Although my lobster roll came with a crap load of meat for about 7.00 extra… I was still looking for the FLAVOR! the bread was pretty good but umm… a little bit of spice please and some sauce with it? I almost cried while staring at my picked over sandwich. *SNIFFLE* Well… on to the Lobster Mac and cheese which was well…*cough* a bit on the bland side. I would love to try them again if the news of they need FLAVOR gets through…

I wanted to try out different lobster rolls around NY to compare to my all-time favorite – Luke’s Lobster in the Financial District specifically. Here the roll is definitely bigger but, even with salt and pepper sprinkled on top, it lacks flavor and has a fishy smell. It is just plain ol’ lobster; no butter or anything else. Bread was not the golden, crispy, buttery goodness I expected. It is slightly cheaper than Luke’s and comes with a side of potato chips but no drink included. Clam chowder was pretty good. 3 stars for environment(which was nice, clean, and beautifully decorated), larger roll, and it was edible. There are a few other things on the menu like salads and Cuban sandwich that might be good but I didn’t come for that. Looks like I will be going back to the usual…

I won’t be back. I’ve never tasted a more bland roll. It was some chunks of lobster tossed into a bun. No sauce. No flavor. Very, very dry. I took one bite of the roll and ate the potato chips. Quite a disappointment for $ 18! While I was there, a woman came in(with her takeout order) complaining that her roll was too dry, so I know it’s not just me. I don’t think they know the recipe for a real lobster roll.
