By FAR the BEST small bodega deli I have found in the city! All their food is fresh and delicious(and affordable!) — if I forget to pack lunch, I just grab one of their chef’s salads or any of the amazing deli sandwiches they make. Get there before they turn off the grill at 11am to snag NYC’s best sausage egg and cheese; can’t recommend this place enough. Would go out of my way to go here even if I weren’t so close.

Great location; friendly service; and simple, good food. I made out with a chopped egg salad & ‘think thin’ bar for $ 10.

I’ve been coming here on and off for almost 6 years before work. They are open early. They are clean, fast, efficient and friendly. Their prices are very reasonable and they give exact change, no tax. For just $ 3 you can get a delicious, and very fresh, not overly greasy, egg white sandwich with cheese, tomato. For a few dollars, you get a nicely brewed cup of coffee. Their deli sandwiches are pretty good too. They keep things simple and know how to run a great little deli because of it. Their customers are loyal. They except cash only, don’t have too many options but they deserve a great rating for what they are.

I love this place! Don’t expect anything fancy– just solid breakfast sandwiches and a really courteous husband and wife making sure everything runs smoothly. I recently ordered a bacon, egg & cheese on a toasted roll for my co-worker– he said it was FANTASTIC! coffee is good, too, for a deli. My breakfast is usually under 3 dollars! A try gem in midtown.

I get breakfast here everyday. They use real eggs, not the fake out-of-the-carton nonsense, like other deli’s in commercial midtown. They’re very quick and substantially cheaper than any other place in the area. The staff is hard working and the owners are very polite an efficient.

This is the place you go for your real NYC Breakfast of piping hot coffee and perfectly toasted bagel love. Or, if you dare, a buttery roll with two eggs, cheese and bacon, with salt and pepper if you desire(and which they will kindly remind you in one rapid fired lightning fast question as they scribble it all down on the paper bag that will soon carry your goodies). Conveniently located in the basement of the Chrysler building, and of course, CASHONLY, I not only love the quick service and tasty food, but the service! One lady always says«thank you, madam» or «good morning, madam». So polite and charming, it just makes my day a little brighter, even on the toughest of Monday mornings. The kicker? Best breakfast in the city wont put you over 3.70(bagel and large coffee) or even 5.00 if you go for the roll and coffee.

Without a doubt the very best pick a meat, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a roll that I have had on a consistent basis within a 10 square block radius. And I’ve worked on 32nd, 47th and 50th streets. The secret? Simple. At the customer’s request, they give you the option of a toasted buttered rolls and salt/pepper and ketchup as well. But get this, they don’t leave it for you to ask, they ALWAYS ask you after you make your order. The results. A perfect breakfast sandwich. Depending on the moment you set foot in here there could be a 0 – 7 person wait before your order gets processed but for breakfast its well worth it. This said, I feel stupid for writing a Unilocal review because of a breakfast sandwich but I just had to. I know… I know… it isn’t like discovering Beard Papa or a Takoyaki Ball in NYC for the first time or banging down that first crazy cocktail from Employee’s Only or the other plethora of interesting one offs that NYC has to offer but I do hope that it inspires someone to roll in one morning and try one of their bacon egg and cheeses and just try to dispute the fact that it was one tasty bacon egg and cheese!

Lexlar’s great for those of us who work in the Chrysler Building. If you get out at the right exit, you’re led straight into the building without having to brave the horrible heat wave or inclement weather. That said, Lexlar is TINY and the lines can be a bit ridiculous when it’s raining outside. Why? Because everyone who works in the building and their administrative assistant comes here for lunch when the weather outside is frightful. Worse yet, there’s really only room for one person to make sandwiches in that little corner. the second guy kinda just handles the bread toasting. That being said, I absolutely love the sausage egg & cheese on a toasted roll with butter. I only got it once so far(since I really should steer clear of such an indulgent treat in the AM) but maaaaan it’s so good here. The butter definitely makes it better.

Tried a breakfast sandwich from here and it was pretty awesome. It only cost me $ 2.75. I’ll be back.

If you are in the mood for the most perfect bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll, made with efficiency, precision, and delivered with a smile, then this is the place for you. I pass by this place every morning on my way to work. While it may be a relatively unimpressive, modest deli in the basement of the Chrysler building, its neighbors a humble barber shop, dry cleaner, shoe repair shop and a pharmacy(Duane Reade), it hearkens back to simpler times. It’s almost a tiny village street down there, it’s so quaint and old-timey. What I admire most is the people who work there. They spend their entire day without being able to look out the window at the sun, or even know what the weather is, slinging coffees and sandwiches all day with nary a complaint. But I’ll be darned if they don’t get you out of there in less than 2 minutes and hand you your change before you even walk up to the register. They are indredibly hard-working and dedicating to feeding us mangy, stressed-out commuters quickly and politely and you really have to hand it to them for delivering such impeccable service. My favorites things to get are: iced coffee, fresh watermelon, the yogurt with granola, blueberries and strawberries, and bacon egg and cheese. The prices are comparably cheaper than those above-ground jokers, and the overall customer experience is pleasant, especially when you’re running late for work. Bravo, Lexler Deli, you’s good people.

Nothing to see here, move on… But I guess I’ll give you the skinny, since this is Unilocal after all. Lexler is this really small deli inside the Chrysler Building. If you exit the Grand Central subway station from the revolving doors that are just beyond the tile sign that says«East Of Lexington Ave.»(or something close to that) you’ll find it. It’s a really simple setup with Boar’s Head meat and a little grill for breakfasty stuff. I suppose if you worked in the building, it’d be really convenient. And I guess being that it’s on the way to work for me, I could go there as well, but I was really unimpressed with the food. There’s nothing wrong, but it was just too generic to leave an impression. Also to note, I *think* the official titles of this place is «Lexler Discount» as that’s what Google tells me it is. Either way, their web presence is tiny, so you’re not missing much there.
