i always ask for extra meat on my sandwhich. i cant tell if im being ripped off or they barely put any meat if you dont ask for extra meat. i only come here because everyone else serves lunch during the morning hours. i only eat here if i absolutely need to.

I love the Lenny’s on the east side near the hospitals — they make generous beautifully layered sandwiches(filled end to end on the hero) which are always perfectly consistent. But this Lenny’s misses the mark. Skimpy on fillings, ends of the hero with no ingredients, missing an ingredient. Reading the other reviews, I can see I’m not the only one who noticed. So the selling point Lenny’s advertises(amazing precision sandwiches) is ironically what is missing at this location. On the plus side, their morning bagel sandwiches and coffee are terrific and a real bargain.

Two sandwiches(breakfast) and two drinks(coffee and iced tea) for less than $ 10 in NYC! I would return and recommend for those in the area. They have a large selection of options, a large dining area by NYC standards, and the place is very clean. You can’t go wrong for breakfast in this neighborhood!

Maybe it’s just my luck and I’m ordering the wrong thing, but the two times I’ve eaten here I’ve been disappointed. On my first visit I ordered the Big Daddy sandwich — and it was disgusting. I was looking forward to a steak sandwich that looked at least somewhat similar to the photo on the menu board — medium/thick pieces of grilled steak. Instead what I had was more like slices of roast beef chopped up and slathered in some kind of sauce. It was almost like eating ground beef or Manwich or something. It was gross and not at ALL what I was expecting. It was also served on a poppy seed roll which was weird. When the cashier asked what kind of bread I wanted I said whatever the usual is for that sandwich. Next time I ordered the Italian sandwich. It’s supposed to have salami and capicola. I swear that it’s salami and turkey. Not necessarily a bad sandwich, but it’s definitely not a salami and capicola! Certainly not worth the $ 9 that I paid for it. I’m very disappointed. Probably won’t be back.

Updating to 4 stars. Since the 43rd St location opened it has now become a regular lunch spot and it is super reliable for delivering a quality, flavorful sandwich! Plus they do a great job catering office lunches too! Smoked chicken deluxe on ciabatta = primo.

Its good in the same way that my dad’s cooking is good: fat and butter make everything taste delicious. My sandwich was tasty, greasy, and the bread was very buttery, but it was nothing that the bodega by my house can’t compare with. I would eat there again if a group was going, but do not plan to make a point of going there with so many other options nearby.

It is a decent sandwich shop. Had an egg and cheese breakfast on an everything bagel. The bagel could have been more flavorful. Home fries with onions and peppers were hot and freshly cooked.

As a chain I like Lenny’s. You get decent portions of semi-authentic deli for reasonable prices very fast. This particular location is better than some others in my experience. Super-friendly staff, quick service, sandwiches are never sloppy, portions slightly nicer than some other locations, they have never gotten an order wrong. The #1 and #6 aren’t putting the classic delis out of business but they’re half the price and whole lot closer if you work in Midtown East. I have never gotten a salad at this or any Lenny’s — for the same reason I don’t order chicken at a steakhouse. No seating and that’s fine.

Saw that this had 3 stars so I decided to write a review, as I believe it deserves a much better rating than it has. When you compare sandwich places in New York, this is among the great ones, as you get fresh bread and meat with a large variety of options. In addition, you can create your own sandwich which is what I do every time. Would definitely suggest this as a deli place.

I go here often to get a bagel on my way to work because it’s convenient. Here’s what it boils down to: if you want to not get what you ordered and you want to wait 10 minutes for it, this is the place for you. No matter how emphatic I am about my order, they never ever get it right.

My colleagues flip over their Italian sandwich. I don’t really get it. I did love their salad though — it was the freshest salad I’ve had at a chain place. filled with walnuts, grapes, cranberries, goat cheese — huge portion of the more expensive ingredients, not too much lettuce like ever places. Delicious!

Don’t order ahead. Make sure you check your order. I picked up the sandwich after a phone in order. Waited 20min to eat it and already soggy in extra mayo I didn’t ask for.

Paid $ 9 for a under cooked grilled chicken. For some reason this place does not taste the same as other locations. Also the price is way to high for a sandwhich. Across the street and on 3rd avenue the average price is $ 7.

I always thought of Lenny’s as an average place to get a sandwich up until today. I ordered a grilled chicken wrap today and when I got back to the office to eat it, I noticed that my chicken was not cooked inside. Also, the lettuce and tomatoes made the wrap incredibly soggy that it wouldn’t have been an enjoyable sandwich to begin with. I brought it back and they gave me a refund but c’mon at least make sure your food is cooked. There are much better places to get a sandwich in the area.

Four stars for coming up with a Thanksgiving-themed sandwich(turkey, stuffing, cranberries) that helps me sleep through an afternoon in the office.

Lenny’s is a staple for Manhattan lunch. So glad they finally opened one near my office. The Grand Central location is a little smaller than some others with no seating. It caters to the take out crowd, but the quality is there. For those of you who don’t know Lenny’s, you can get a sandwich any way you want on any bread you can possibly imagine. I’m here 3 – 4 times a week. And for the people complaining about the guy in the back who takes your order and ceremoniously tells you where to pick it up(not hard to figure out)…he’s no longer there. He may have rotated to another Lenny’s. So it’s safe to enter now.

Lenny’s is a nice addition to the Midtown East lunch scene. I like that they give you option to build your own sandwich. My avocado, cheese, lettuce, and tomato sandwich on wheat was pretty good.

Lenny’s recently opened on 43rd street between 3rd and Lexington Avenue. This is one of the newest locations for this NYC franchise. The sandwiches are always great and the ingredients are fresh and they have an insanely huge menu so you never get bored. This location can get fairly busy at lunchtime but they are efficient and I haven’t had to wait long. Definitely recommend Lenny’s if yo uare looking for a decent sandwich shop in midtown.
