La Cafetiere

Stumbled across La Cafetiere after brunch in Chelsea. What a find! I knew from the moment I stepped into the store that I was in love. Beautiful yet approachable items for the kitchen and dining room. These are the types of things you have in your house that you will be complimented on to no end. My husband and I were married about a year and a half ago… I think it’s time I tell him to stop being so careful with all of our new things ;)
The best part of my visit was that everything in the store was 50% off. Ummm. Yes, please! Exercising restraint, I walked out with an fabulous salt/​pepper shaker set. I’ll be back.

I was packing up part of my kitchen and ran across an ancient looking egg cup that was purchased at La Cafetiere and a moment of pure nostalgia swept through me. The cute as a button cup is sterling silver and shaped like a cracked egg, tiny little chicken feet is what makes this little treasure stand and stand out from the rest of the glass or porcelain egg cups you’re bound to stumble across.
If you are crazy about your kitchen or strive to make your kitchen or home for that matter as comfortable and welcoming as a French country home. Yup that’s me… well sort of, minus wandering through the house wearing frilly charmeusse dresses and singing in french with a glass of wine in hand and a cigarrette in the other. This is the place to pick up little nick nacks and odds and ends that will perfectly round out that style. The mood is very simple and the selections are all over the place. Simple white platters and white porcelain pitchers are a wonderful addition but follow up your table with lime green table napkins or elegant single vases. The furniture is equally as wonderful as the small trinkets; bookcases and shelving made from wood that has been carefully scratched and worn down so that the pale pastel paint looks aged.
Delightful and engaging staff who show their appreciation for every item that rests inside. I hate being so far and will have to plan a much needed trip with a pitstop at this boutique.
