Went today with my friend. I said the wrong order and the guy made me the correct drink and let us keep the wrong one. Very nice about it too, his parting comment was, «We want to keep our customers happy.»

Tried this place for the first time today, the oolong milk tea is definitely amazing. After trying some more things later on, I feel like I will definitely like this place even more!

Chinatown hot spot! My son is a big West Coast Boba fan, in NYC aka Bubble Tea. Cheap and convenient, hit the spot on a hot day.

This place was packed when we arrived. Line was out the door and you can only fit 10 people in there max. We were able to get our mango, black tea, winter melon milk tea in less than 10 minutes. The teas did not taste very sweet. You could tell the difference in each drink with the distinct flavor. The tapioca balls are at another level. Very chewy and for some reason it tastes better than the competitors. I’ll be back to try their matcha and slush drinks. Cash only location. Line can be long.

So before this was renovated, this place was terrible. I would go here because it’s right off the N/Q/R and KFT is always my favorite place to get bubble tea. When they started messing up on every single one of my orders, and I stopped coming. One time, they put nata(coconut) jelly instead of herbal jelly and when I told them the order was wrong, they used the same bubble tea, took out the nata jelly and put in herbal jelly. I know because I could STILLTASTETHECOCONUT. So, I swore this place off and started going to the one on Grand, Waverly, and St. Marks when those chains opened up. Then, it was renovated and got a new staff, so I tried it again and it has been pretty good ever since. However, yesterday, I ordered a matcha slush with no red bean, but bubbles instead. The cashier confirmed it: no read bean, yes to bubbles. I said yes. When I got the drink, there was red beans in it. No problem, I told the staff I said no red bean. They asked for my drink back and my friend and I watched them(there was like 5 people behind the register) try to put THESAMEMATCHASLUSH onto bubbles… My friend and I literally stood in disbelief. Were they REALLY going to re-use the same drink? «She’s allergic to red bean,» my friend told them. «That’s why she said she didn’t want any.» «Oh, you don’t want red bean?» one of the girls asked, as if I didn’t make it clear before. «No red beans, I asked for bubbles instead.» NO I DON’T WANTREDBEANTHAT’S WHAT I TOLDYOUABOUT4TIMESNOWFROMTHEMOMENT I STEPPEDINTOTHISSHOP. They proceeded to make a new drink. Which they should have done in the first place because they messed up. I feel like they only even made me a new drink because my friend and I were grilling them as they tried to use the old drink. Now, I’m not even one to complain when people make my order wrong. I usually just blame myself for maybe saying it wrong and then I’ll throw it away. But this location always messes up and I’m tired of it. Especially since I know I specifically said no red bean. The cashier knew too and he didn’t even try to stop them when they were going to re-use the wrong drink and just add the right toppings. He acted like he didn’t know what I was talking about either. Giving 2 stars because they’re not always so terrible. But the way they handled the situation was unacceptable. Stop acting dumb and make me a new drink — you’re the one who messed up Also, cash only.

Pretty quick service and lots of options are a good deal. The prices are fair and it’s a good place to duck out of Chinatown foot traffic for a few minutes.

I’m addicted to tea and I frequent a Kung fu tea at least once a week. Their teas are consistent across their locations in Manhattan and I’m glad they started serving milk caps with their teas. Their boba is never hard and consistently chewy

Ohhhhhhhh man! So I had never heard of «Kung Fu Tea» but this past Monday I was walking around Chinatown with two of my favorite ladies after having a fantastic dim sum brunch and some Chinatown Fair Arcade hangs. One friend really needed to use the restroom and another friend reeeeeeeally had a craving for Oreo Milk Bubble Tea(that friend was meeeeeee!) and I was hoping that we could find a place to satisfy both needs. After two false alarms for my milk tea we ended up deciding to just hop on a train to midtown so my friend could use our other friend’s bathroom — but then I spotted Kung Fu Tea and yelled something along the lines of, «OMGLOOKTEEEEAPLACEHOPETHEYHAVEOREOMILKTEAACKOMGGIMMIE» — seriously, I feel like I probably said this all in one breath. Upon entering and glancing over their menu, I immediately saw it… OREOMILKTEA!!! Not everyone has the Oreo variety and I’m not often in Chinatown so it’s rare when I can get my hands on one of these suckers and so I was elated. I ordered it in a Large because GOHARDORGOOREO — I mean — HOME. I don’t like tapioca balls — their gelatinous texture is weird to me(although I like Jello, a lot… meh) so they poured in ice, tea, milk, oreos and whatever else goes into making this delicious thing, popped a Kung Fu Tea branded seal on it and off it went to the Bubble Tea shaking machine. That thing looks like so much fun. Kind of wish I had one of these at home, lol. My Oreo Milk Tea was freakin’ DELICIOUS and everything I needed. All the feels. Writing this review is making me crave one RIGHTNOWTHISMINUTE! Alas, they didn’t have a restroom for my friend who needed to go — but the guy who took and made my order was really friendly + this place is clean and super cute. I also found out that they are a chain and there is apparently one not too far from my job(but too far for me to bounce to during lunch) but still — this excites me. 5 stars. 5 whole Oreo-shaped stars. I cannot WAIT to be back :).

I was excited to try Kung Fu Tea, as I had heard many good things about it before. I got the peach tea with boba and have to say I was a little disappointed with the flavor. Bubbles were cooked perfectly and were delicious. My boyfriend got the milk tea and it was perfect with floral hints. Would recommend to try the classic milk tea but personally am going to try out the other many boba places when in Chinatown.

Excellent drinks and fast service. Cheap price and variety of drinks to choose. Worth coming to hang out and chit-chat. My favorite is the Mango Slush, a recommended choice for you to try it out!

I love that you’re able to customize the sweetness and ice levels here. I always try one of the fruit teas since I’m lactose intolerant, but I think for some drinks, they have lactaid milk available? The boba/bubbles here are always good, not too soft or hard, just the right amount of chewiness. Grapefruit, passionfruit, and strawberry are some of my favorites!

Teribble Customer Service! I came in on a Saturday at 3pm, it wasn’t very busy, a few people were waiting on their orders. I ordered my drink and patiently waited. 4 people who had placed their orders after me were served first. So I asked the guy behind the counter to check on my drink… turns out the girl behind the register never passed on my drink ticket. 5 minutes later I got my drink… may I remind you that the place wasn’t busy. The bubble tea was terrible. There are a lot place in the area, please avoid this one.

I had really high expectations for this place because many of my friends always posted pictures of their drinks from Kung Fu Tea. I ordered the yogurt green tea with boba and I was SOEXCITED. However, it wasn’t that great. I couldn’t taste the green tea, at all. I noticed for the yogurt, it was the small Korean yogurt drinks and they put so much of that in it, all I could taste was that. I was expecting it to have more of an equal ratio of green tea to yogurt… Staff was great though! There were so many options and I was overwhelmed by the choices, but the staff was very helpful. My other friends enjoyed their drinks. I will probably give this place another try the next time I’m in NY. Maybe I’ll have better luck next time.

Came here on a whim because we loved all the other kung fu tea locations and it was pretty good! I got the pearl milk tea and the bubbles were sweetened with the perfect amount of chew. My one complaint was that the milk tea was pretty sweet. I usually like sweet, but this was a little above my threshold. I would love to come back and try their regular teas next time.

Finally, something I didn’t fully finish. It was THAT bad. I was extremely thirsty, and I was looking for a place to quench my thirst so that I wouldn’t be thirsty anymore and I stumbled upon this place. I settled for the Matcha Milk and it tastes horrible. Everything about the drink was bad. The drink tasted tremendously sweet even without any added sugar. The matcha was weirdly sweet and bitter at the same time. The matcha was also pre-made and not freshly blended. And don’t get me started on the bubbles. The bubbles tasted extremely sweet. It’s like they didn’t even bother to mix the syrup/sugar throughly. And worse of all, the bubbles weren’t chewy. There was an elastic aftertaste to it. It was like chewing on a rubber band. Disgusting. I should’ve stuck with the traditional bubble milk tea instead. This is what I get for trying new things. Would I come back? Probably not. I shall take my business to Cha-Time across the street instead.

Hands down my favorite bubble tea shop to visit when I’m in NYC! Their large is huge and my favorite drink is the Jasmine Milk Tea. Milky and creamy, you can taste the Jasmine in it as well. They make the perfect combo so that it’s not too bitter or too sweet. Their tapioca is soft and chewy too! Definitely a must visit if you’re ever in the area. Note: they only take cash!

Ordered the regular milk tea with boba. The tea flavor was very good, flavorful and dark, with the perfect amount of milk. The boba on the other hand was a bit undercooked for my taste. It was too chewy and tough. I prefer it to be softer. You can control the sugar level of your drink. I suggest going with 50% sugar as my drink was very sweet since I didn’t specify the level of sweetness.

Kung Fu Tea is a Taiwanese-style bubble tea chain that seems to have its heart set on North American expansion. Unfortunately, it’s Bay Area locations aren’t convenient to work or home for me so I first tried it in New York after a night of foot massages, soup dumplings and phở in Chinatown. All of their tea drinks are customizable by sweetness level(go less sweet than you think), amount of ice, bubbles, etc. The grapefruit green tea, half sweet, with bubbles was my kind of drink. Tart, not too sweet, with plenty of chewy boba.

Have been to this location three times, maybe. Had the Longan Red Date Tea twice and some milk tea. Longan Red Date(aka Longan Jujube tea) is delicious here. Usually have it with pudding because that is me. Got it low sweet with low ice. They prepared it wrong the first time but redid it and gave me the other one for free. Nice people.

Mon premier Bubble Tea !!
