[UPDATEDREVIEW] — It’s a Kosher deli lunch spot establishment with salad bar and plenty of tables. Food: The shawarma + salad bar was pretty solid. The sauces: they were pretty tasty as well. The meat is right off the rotisserie skewer. The wrap/pita comes with hummus and meat which was not bad either. Staff: Everyone was pretty straight business What else can you expect.

Not too bad. Came for the infamous pita/gyro/shwarma + salad buffet. Came out to $ 13 after tax. The shwarma meat is real flavorful lamb(i think) right off the rotisserie skewer. The wrap/pita comes with hummus and meat which was nice — no fillers. They give you a plastic container(if you order ‘to go’) that can hold about 1lb of salad bar food that’s included. The salad bar had a decent mix of about 8 items. 3 different slaws, baked eggplant, cucumber salad, pickles, peppers, and some other stuff. The slaws and eggplant were real good. So if you plug in the numbers you’re essentially getting a lamb pita for $ 7(the usual rate) and then a lb of salad for $ 5. All in all, good food but a bit expensive If you’re in the mood for meat in a pita, you can a few bucks by stopping at just about any Halal cart you pass by on the walk over here

the food is very good and they are very centrally located and the price isn’t too bad. You can get a filling meal at a reasonable price.

I’m giving 4 stars for the chicken shawarma counter but I’d say the rest of the place is more like 3 stars. The shawarma is great and the best feature is the unlimited salad/topping bar which you can stuff into a plastic container they provide. The downside is it’s very expensive $ 10.50 for s pita. Opt for the laffa and you get an enormous sandwich but that costs more at $ 12.50 which quite frankly is a lot for a sandwich at lunch. But when I have a shawarma craving I would come back especially since soom soom next door stopped serving shawarma.

I wanted a Kosher deli in Mid-town, and my group was in a rush. I was surprised to see offerings for Shawarma and Kosher Chinese, but I craved a good Jewish deli sandwich. The hot pastrami was good, but small in size for the price. Definitely not comparable to the great Katz’, but the vegetable soup was full of home-stuffed nutrition. My friends ordered the Noodle Kugel(slightly sweet with raisins and cinnamon), fried chicken(juicy, but a little on the bland side), and a knish. The staff who served me were friendly and fast.

We(co-workers) stopped in here for lunch and it was fine. Décor: It’s a standard deli-ish lunch spot — food serving stations, salad bar, plenty of tables. It doesn’t give off the most«clean» vibe, but it isn’t, by any means, visibly dirty. In fact, all the tables were perfectly clean and a guy actually came around to throw away our trash(impressive). Bathroom: didn’t use it(if there is one…) Staff: Everyone was pretty straight business but the guy who cleaned up our trash(not sure if he was going out of his way or they always do this) was very nice. Food: We all had the shawarma + salad bar and it was pretty solid. The sauces they had were pretty tasty as well. They seem to have a pretty extensive menu so I wonder what the other food is like… Value: You pay, and get a level of service, about what you would expect. It’s definitely something different and will now be considered when thinking of where to grab lunch.

I work a couple blocks away, so I starting going to Kosher Deluxe about once a week for the past few months. I usually ordered a burger, and occasionally, I would bite into an unidentifiable piece of something hard or gristly, but I usually let that slide, because it’s quick and easy. Also, because I never had to deal with them messing up my order before. Unfortunately, that was not the case last Friday. I ordered a burger as I have previously, with no pickles or ketchup, and I checked the printout when I picked it up to make sure, as I always do. However, when I arrived back at work, lo and behold both ketchup and pickles were present, and my lunch ruined. My lunch break is not flexible, so I had no time to return to the store. I figured oh well, it happens. I’ll just call them and see what they are willing to do. What a disaster. I could not believe how rude the lady I spoke to on the phone was after I told her what happened. She first told me I would have to go back and return the burger before they would do anything, because they didn’t believe me. When I told her this was not possible, because I did not have enough time on my lunch break, she put me on hold while she went to get a manager. She never put the manager on the phone, though, instead she simply told there was nothing they could do, even when I asked for a credit instead of a refund. I then offered to send them pictures, because I am adamant when people think I am lying. She gave me an email to send the photos to, and she said they would credit my card after verifying them. Then, she gave a brief, insincere apology(the first I’d gotten out of the entire call), and hung up. I sent the email and have gotten no response and no credit. I’ve decided to upload the pictures here in an effort to warn others to stay away from this establishment.

Fast Food. and its Kosher, what can you expect. The burgers I had from here were lackluster but the next time I came back, I had the shawarma and that was rather good! The burger or chines food line can be ing or daunting, but the shwarma line was non existent. Decent city prices.

Great place for a quick fast-food lunch. The restaurant reminds me of a food court, and the atmosphere is very plain, but then again this isn’t where you go for a leisurely sit-down meal. Service was FAST, around 5 minutes from ordering to eating. They have American, Israeli & Chinese cuisine to choose from(got to love the Jewish palate), and I got just a burger which was very good. I also got some chicken noodle soup which was actually really impressive; better than the same type of soup I ordered the night before at a much more upscale restaurant. Overall, the food was good, service was good, and I’d come back here again for sure.

Only have had delivery from this place. The order was done through and so no worries there. Food came piping hot and very quickly might add. Ordered their cholent, side order of stuffed derma and a matzo ball soup. The broth was absolutely delicious! Not too salty and definitely not bland. I liked that the noodles still had a little bite to them and weren’t just soggy mush. The one complaint I did have was that the motzo ball itself was TINY! delicious but come on people make the ball bigger please! Stuffed Derma was very good and so was the accompanying gravy. Wasn’t too dry by itself and had a nice texture. The Cholent was again satisfying but nothing like homemade. It wasn’t as sweet as I like from a homemade one, but still very palatable. Definitely will order from here again, will update review once I’ve tried their other items.

We ordered lunch from here today since we needed a kosher meal for a client. Their chicken soup was extremely tasty, as was the knish. I will be ordering the knish regularly. I have sampled Alex S’s shawarma and enjoyed it myself. The winner for me is the black and white cookie. Ahhhmazing. Fresh. Just the right amount of sweet. Delish.

It’s all about the cholent. Why mention anything else when cholent is on the menu? I mean first of all, how many restaurants serve this dish? And even if the restaurant is in the«maybe» category, it’s not going to be on the menu every day. Logic dictates it will be served on Saturday, but the same logic also dictates that this very restaurant will be closed on Saturday. So you begin to see why the hunt for cholent can be so hard. I mean, how do you even spell it? Are you sure? Kosher Deluxe promises cholent on Thursday and Friday in two sizes, small and large. Since the dish is primarily a mix of various beans and potatoes with some meat thrown in, you are definitely going to want to order the large because it is served with even more starch – a side of kishke or potato kugel and bread or pita. I went on a Friday, ordered the large, got a side of kishke, and it was just great. The beans and potatoes were delicious, the meat was boneless, soft and melt in your mouth, the whole dish was perfectly seasoned and satisfying, and the uniform brown color was a joy to behold. And let’s be sure to mention the grease – everything was swimming in a sea of orange/brown grease, the sort one just doesn’t see very often any more in a restaurant. The kishke was also quite tasty. Yes, the French have their cassoulet, but they probably stole it from us – and we have our cholent – only, however, on Thursday or Friday at Kosher Deluxe.

Pass the kishke plz. This place is literally a kitchen sink of kosher eats with everything from traditional dishes like cholent to «Chinese»(lolwut) to good olé falafel and shwarma. It’s not the best ever but it gets the job done if you have a half hour to preserve the covenant in a big lunchroom with Diamond District folk.

This place has some bangin’ shawarma. It’s definitely the best I’ve had in midtown. Can’t go wrong with the falafel either. Side note: Coolest motto in midtown? «Make your food kosher… but keep it deluxe.» That’s just pure fire right there. Pure. Fire. When you order make sure to get the platter. They hand you a little plastic container and you can fill it till it’s bulging open with whatever veggies you want. They have the usual Middle Eastern standards — pickles, carrots, peppers, cabbage, etc. Everything’s pretty awesome so don’t be afraid to pack it in there. If there’s any air, you’re going to be disappointed. It comes out to like 12 buck so not the cheapest thing in the world but you will be FULL! Come hungry or bring a friend. If you don’t have a friend… and you’re not hungry… then bring a doggie bag.
