Really good Shakshuka. I would have to say it’s definitely one of the best in the city.

Shuka Shuka Shuka shakshuka! I had never had shakshuka before, and was eager to try it. I decided to make my own combo, you get to pick a sauce, and five toppings. I had a red sauce with asparagus, eggplant, parsley, red onions, and zucchini. I got a platter, which comes with a side, and pita bread. They ran out of Israeli salad(too bad) so I got the best comfort instead, which is just potato wedges and a green sauce. It cost $ 12, which is a little steep for street food, but since it’s vegetarian, kosher, and delicious, why not. They had also ran out of cilantro– the line was fairly long earlier. The sauce is so mouth watering you scrape all of it up with the bread, the eggs are hearty and delicious, overall a great meal. I would highly recommend anyone to come here to try it out!

The best shaksuka in Nyc. The guys at the truck are AWSOME! Me and my family are big fans of Israeli food and this place is by far the best I had! Highly recommended!

Not bad. A bit on the expensive side for what you are getting. Tried the Red Shuka sandwich($ 9) and it was essentially tomato sauce/chili inside a piece of Italian bread to make a «Bread bowl» Not bad by any means, but gave me a bit of a «this is it?» reaction

I’m crazy about eating healthy, and I don’t like the idea of eating food out of a truck, but I took a chance on Shuka truck and am so glad that I did! I made my own platter — with vegetables and red sauce — and I loved it. It wasn’t at all greasy, and the flavors were amazing. I will definitely come back. My Israeli boyfriend loved his too!

Recently heard about this truck, and as a particular fan of Israeli/Middle Eastern cuisine, I had to stop by. I’m pretty obsessed with goat cheese, so the green platter was a clear choice. The pre-crafted platters(not the make-your-own) come with a side and pita. To keep things light, given a busy upcoming weekend, I went with the Israeli salad, which was very traditional(cubed primarily tomatoes, cucumbers, onions). I did hear the cauliflower side was really good, so I’ll have to try that next time. The platter was super tasty, with plenty of asparagus, zucchini, red onions, 2 eggs… and goat cheese(yum). The green sauce was really light and fresh, and the side tahina was true to form. My only slight gripe was that they were out of whole wheat pita… but the service was otherwise great, the truck guys are inviting and fun(the booming new-wave Israeli music was also pretty amusing). I would/will definitely stop by this truck again.

Not a fan. $ 13 for two runny eggs and tomato sauce. No thanks. I don’t get what the hype is, was looking forward to trying Shuka after reading so many rave reviews. Quite a disappointment. The staff, however were friendly and pleasant.(Also note: they do not accept the 10% off check in offer.)

I got the green platter. Had two eggs, some veggies, and a lot of sauce. It also comes with a side, and I got cauliflower. The cauliflower was pretty good, and would say that was the best thing out of the order. The actual platter tasted pretty good too, but not filling. The pita bread was the only down side to the food — cold, very thick, and not too good(stopped eating it after a couple bites). Overall the food was about a 4, I’d say pretty tasty, but they also didn’t take the Unilocal deal for 10 percent off. I saw another person have that some comment about 3 months ago. They should probably get that deal removed so people don’t expect it. The platter came to a little over $ 13 bucks after tax, and would say this meal would be more reasonable at around 9 or 10, comparing similar food truck platters in the area. Overall: Good food, but overpriced, and out of date coupons.

I never really tried food from Israel before. I am glad this is the first time I tried it and won’t be my last time. I am hesitating at first on ordering since it’s vegetarian but I always love to give something new a try before making any decision. So I ordered the hamshuka platter and it came with a side of salad/soup/chips and a pita. I went for the salad. It was a little pricey that the platter comes out to be 13.06(including tax and they accept credit card). I didn’t know about that after I paid. They use organic and fresh ingredients. The reason why I chose Hamshuka because it has hummus in it. The meal looks«small» when I open it but man it was SOFILLING and it goes so well with the Pita Bread. I couldn’t even finish the side after that. The«mash up» blend so well and I am glad I tried it. You can also choose your own toppings. All of it comes with 2 eggs and I perfectly LOVEIT.

I picked up lunch here when it was parked near NYU a few weeks ago. I really liked the red shakshuka platter, which came with a choice of vegetable(I picked Israeli Salad, very good!). The pita was perfect for dipping and it was a fair amount of food. My dish was flavorful and a nice change of pace for what’s usually available from a food truck, but it was still a lot more than I usually pay for lunch and it didn’t feel like a great value. I do want to try the white shakshuka, which my friend really liked, but I will probably get it as a sandwich since that is much cheaper, albeit less healthy.

This truck is soooo good! I had never hear of shakshuka before this place and I’m so glad they introduced me to this delicious dish of eggs poached in tomato sauce. Their hummus is creamy and delicious and both times I ate here I was blown away by how fresh all their ingredients are. It’s so good I’ve even tried to recreate it at home a few times. Both times I’ve seen the truck in the Financial District so they must travel away from midtown on occasion. Give it a try, it’s a healthy meal you won’t be disappointed by.

The Shuka Truck serves up my favorite brunch food: shakshuka! Shakshuka is dish of spicy tomato sauce, mixed veggies with two eggs baked into it. It is savory, a little sweet and sour, big on veggies and lean protein, and easily mopped up with pita. The Shuka truck obviously adds crack to the eggs, because this stuff is so good, I cannot believe that they didn’t have a line. I found them today(Friday) on 47th between Park and Lex — I haven’t seen them before, but they did win a Vendy so its worth trying! I ordered the HumShuka, which is the red shakshuka(tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, parsley) with hummus and two wonderfully runny eggs. It was ready within five minutes and the guys behind the wheel are so funny(and pretty cute! Maybe look them up on J-date?) They joked around in Hebrew with the other guy who was ordering and seemed to be having a great time on such a rainy day. They expertly whipped up my to go container and a side of lemony cheesy cauliflower with a fluffy pita. I took it back up to my desk to enjoy and YOUGUYS, this is so tasty! The tomato sauce is fresh, a perfect blend of herby, sour, and sweet. The eggs are not over cooked, and I’m not sure how that’s possible considering how warm my food is. The pita is so fresh and fluffy! The cauliflower is a tiny bit mushy, but super well seasoned. And all that for $ 12, and yes they take Square so swipe that plastic! They also somehow do this concept on a sandwich — I don’t know how it works, but its $ 9 and I’m curious. This is one of the healthiest things I can order from a truck that doesn’t have lettuce in it. Give it a try! PS — I’m Asian. They had no problem serving me. One of them called me «dear.» Soooo not sure what happened to Tina Y there, but hope its a fluke.

Shuka Truck serves savory shakshuka, an Israeli dish made with poached eggs in tomato sauce, which is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I tried the Shuka Truck at the Vendy Awards and had the delicious red shakshuka. This hearty bowl of red shakshuka included a perfectly poached egg in fresh tomato sauce with charred onions and roasted bell peppers, and topped with feta cheese, fresh parsley, harrisa, and a drizzle of sweet honey. You will be scraping the last bit of the sauce with the freshly baked pita bread on the side. As for a food truck meal, shakshuka is a bit difficult to eat(much more convenient to sit down and eat, even though they give you a spoon and pita to dip).

Man, this stuff is like crack! I had never heard of shakshuka before I ate at this truck. For those uninitiated, it’s an Israeli/Tunisian dish where you have poached eggs in this spicy tomato based sauce( ). The thing is freaking delicious! But my favorite here is by far the humshuka — basically it’s a shakshuka mixed with hummus and served with pita bread for dipping. I can’t get enough of it! I usually wipe my bowl clean with the pita. The people who work the truck always seem super friendly and nice, and love to chat it up while they make the dish right in front of you. When I’ve been, it’s usually in FiDi, but looks like the truck makes it’s rounds around town. If you haven’t been, definitely check these guys out!

This is one of the better food trucks I’ve ever had. Quick, flavorful, and a HUGE sandwich. Great value, high quality, unusual, fun. Harissa in the Red was just the right level of heat, and the little cubes of feta added some nice tang. My egg was slightly overlooked — I was expecting more of a runny poached egg — but I still enjoyed it. Also, the sandwich is more like a bread bowl, so tear into it to scoop out all the tomatoey goodness!

Great food, fast service, SUPER friendly people. Love it here. I got the«Green Platter» with a side of Cauliflower. The Green Platter was fabulous, but the Cauliflower was DEVINE. Will totally get that every time I am there. My friend had the«Red Sandwich» — and I will be getting that next time, as it was so good!(I had a bite) I highly recommend this food truck if you see it — yes it’s a little on the pricey side, but it’s worth it in my opinion!

This is a must for me and my coworkers every Thursday when the truck is at 46th and 6th. I get the HumShuka platter with an Israeli salad. The hummus is homemade every day. Best in the city! Best lunch option out there! The food is amazing and a very generous portion, as we’ll as the 3 guys are nicest and the most entertaining out of any food truck there. You also get a discount on lunch if you download and order through their app!

They seem to Only Serve Non-Asian as it was practically my first time there today; therefore, it could not have been any reason for them to refuse to order my food. 1st, they skipped me after kept me waiting when there were not anyone before me, for about 5 min. then, after they«took care of their guy» who they skipped me for; they«stopped» taking my order in Silence. Then I waited for another 5 min. the line was adding up, but they kept letting the Line add up but Not taking my Orders In their«SILENCE Protest. « Good to know before wasting 1 cent of mine. Go to the Schnitzi Truck(59 west 46th street))-between 5th ans 6th ave.) Next to them. That’s Real Kosher.

I really don’t understand the complaints in the negative reviews I am reading. First of all, it’s a food truck in NYC you should know you are going to pay more. There’s also a grilled cheese truck in the city that charges $ 7 for a grilled cheese and what are those ingredients some bread and cheese?!! so that argument of its only two eggs and veggies is not valid. Second, if you have had or know of shakshuka you will def appreciate this place even more it’s DELICIOUS !!! And if you are new to shakshuka, I recommend trying the red if it’s your first time. I think the platter(comes with a side and bread) is a good filling meal for the cost of $ 12 – 13 which is close enough to what most lunches in NYC cost. This truck does get busy for obvious reasons– the food is delicious and fresh so make sure you have 10 min or so to wait.

I have mixed feelings about this truck, but they are mostly negative. First try — Green sandwich. So bland and the soft bread was very soggy. 2nd&3rd try — Humshuka platter. Delicious! This is definitely the winner at this truck. However for $ 13.07 including tax, it is ridiculous. Ingredients: Two eggs, tomato, onion, «a bunch of cilantro»(which must have been left off of my platter each time), hummus. a pita. side of salad or cauliflower or potato. What ingredient is so expensive that you need to charge this price? All of those ingredients are cheap! Service — Not great, and don’t even try making a special request(I mean any request, extra hot sauce on the platter, an extra fork in the bag.). Also, their methods are extremely inefficient. If two people order the same exact thing at the same exact time, make them at the same time! It’s simple! Instead of adding ingredient A to both then ingredient B to both, etc, they each each ingredient to one dish then when they’re done they add each ingredient to the next dish. Don’t come here unless you have a lot of time to kill and a lot of money to spend on cheap ingredients.
