They have insanely good friend chicken — crispy, salty, but the meat inside is not dry and stays hot. I always get take out, and the price is very reasonable compared to the great quality. The spicy kimchi is amazing, and every flavor of chicken is worth a try. I don’t usually get the other entrées because the wings are so awesome.

I really enjoyed the food. They have a great lunch special for $ 9. I got a spicy chicken rice bowl and my friend got 6 wings. Both dishes were $ 9. The wings came with a side. We chose fries and they were delicious with the sauce they gave us. I tried their new green tea beer — skip it. The spicy chicken is not spicy.

So I was really excited to try this place. Ordered a special that included sweet potato noodles mushrooms and beef, however I don’t eat beef and asked if I could please substitute it for chicken and was told«no we don’t substitute. We could just not add it in.» Okay… But why? If you dont have to include it when you make it then why can’t you just add anything else in its place? A balanced diet includes a protein. Even vegans would probably choose tofu rather than beef. So do you not cater to a specific group of eaters that are eager to try your food? The wings however were phenomenal. We got the half soy garlic and hot spicy. The rest of the food we ordered was okay… My noodles weren’t bad. My partner wasn’t a big fan of the kimchi burrito. Said he didn’t like the texture of the rice. I’d just order wings from here. And the service was okay.

We went to Koko around 2pm on Saturday and the place was messy. It seemed only one server was in charge. The portion size of a small combo(4 wings and 2 drums) was huge. I got the soy garlic and it was a bit too sweet after a few bites. We liked how little dough was used for the chicken, however. My friend’s bulgogi seemed delectable. The kimchi was expensive, given the size of the side dish.

Love this place especially their lunch special! Every plate is a must have at this restaurant. Came here with friends and we were all satisfied with what we ordered. The staff was very nice and pleasant, definitely coming back here again.

Worst take out experience I’ve ever had. Small portion for an expensive price. What is supposed to be an egg yolk in the bowl(In picture) is only an egg white. And it looks disgusting because I don’t know if they had done anything with it already. This is my bulgogi with rice. Nothing like the picture.

I am so happy I found this place. I live all the way up in Inwood and I am glad to know that I don’t have to go to Korea town just to get a dose of my Korean Fried Chicken fix. Will definitely coma back!

Came here with friend for dinner. We ordered a chicken combo and I order a octopus bibimbap. It took a long time for them to serve. And the chicken was in very small pieces.

Koko wings is literally across the street from my new apartment. Given my mostly unsatisfied cravings for fried chicken driven by my health-oriented diet, this is dangerous. A few weeks ago when watching WrestleMania and the Walking Dead finale back to back(there were 2 girls present for the record), some of us decided to get food. I suggested Koko; ordering by phone was pretty seamless, although you can actually use Seamless or another food ordering site if you want. After elapsing the 20 minute pickup window we were given by a good 25 minutes because the person delegated to pick up the food didn’t know how to use the subway, we grabbed the food and came back. Even though they’d been sitting around and were lukewarm – again, not the restaurant’s fault – the chicken tenders retained their crispness very well. There were 1 or 2 pieces that were mostly just crispness with no meat, but overall I was impressed by the crispness and amount of meat for the money. The hot tenders were spicy without being overpoweringly so, and the similarly soy garlic had a kick while not overpowering the tenders. The french fries were sizable but they had to be for $ 6. Even so, they were thick cut, crisp, and I liked the spicy mayo they came with even though it wasn’t spicy. Overall this turned out to be a quality dinner. ~$ 30 for dinner for 2 people while having enough for leftovers the next day isn’t the deal of the year, but for food this thoroughly enjoyable it is pretty good. Reheated it was actually just as good as fresh somehow. I like that they offer strips too as I prefer them over wings. I will order again and will walk across the damned to pick it up my damned self next time(or eat there, God forbid).

Located in the middle of the Korean food area. They certainly have their distinct character to survive. The interior was woodly decorated with a touch of Asian style. Totally I think can fit in 30people. Not a large place but each table has a generous space. Signature dishes are fried chicken wings and drums. Never tried strips. The crispy flavor is my favorite. Spicy one is too strong for one to enjoy. Those are very oily. Usually accompanies with pickled radish. I like tofu salad. The tofu are freshly fried and warm on top of those lettuce. Sauce is sweet and sour. Servers are Koreans. They do have delivery

More than adequate Korean food with the added bonus of chicken fingers. We tried the soy garlic chicken strips, prepared well. We also tried the gobak a spicy minced chicken platter with gochujang, a Korean pepper sauce. The dish although appropriate, but would have preferred it to not have Mozz cheese. The service was cordial, their heat didn’t work, and in reality this is a take out place.

Chicken wings here are pretty good. Isn’t it great when an establishment does a good job with their specialty? Mr. Joy loves Korean fried chicken … and fried chicken in general … and fried foods overall. Chicken Wings — Soy Garlic & Spicy($ 14.95 for 6 wings &4 drums): The chicken was crunchy with just enough batter and a decent amount of meat on the bones. The spicy flavor had a kick, but was not too spicy. I still preferred the soy garlic flavor. The fried chicken comes with a side, so we chose… Kimchi Coleslaw — I could take it or leave it. I don’t like coleslaw. I was hoping there would be more kimchi leaves in there, but it didn’t really resemble kimchi at all. It was mostly plain chopped cabbage with a little bit of spice. Japchae with beef($ 12.95): The stir-fried clear noodles are so delicious to me. I didn’t know they were made from sweet potatoes. Did you know that japchae is clear sweet potato noodles? They are sort of chewy and full of beef flavor. Since there are julienned carrots, mushrooms, and vegetables, it makes me feel like it’s a complete meal. Koko Wings has a solid, simple menu with the staple Korean dishes. The restaurant is pretty small with a couple of tables, and some stools along one wall, but it is pretty clean with mostly wooden décor and a brick wall. It is definitely a great place to have a meal or just some fried chicken for a snack.

I loveeee fried chicken, perhaps even more than the kind you eat with waffles. My only complaint is that you have to order the pickled radish separately when they really should come standard with the double fried chicken. The japchae is also delicious, but the seafood pancakes were just OK. They also have unique things here like green tea beer! I’ll definitely be coming back here soon for the chicken :)

Wow what a gem in Morningside Heights! Always knew this place existed but never knew it was worth visiting. I was obviously wrong! Their chicken is delicious! Not bad at all. It might even be better than some places in ktown… Their sweet potato fries are yummy too! Really yummy! I will definitely be visiting this place more now that I know it’s worth it.

At first the service was slow and iffy — but after the crowd dispersed. overall it wasnt bad at all. The food is unquestionably a great fix for that Korean bonchon craving if you can’t get to midtown manhattan. but don’t expect it to be the same. The wings are great tho. the bibimbap was do-able. Stay away from the japchae.

Originally wanted KFC, but they ran out of fried chicken. This place was across the street. They usually take a while for the food to come out, but definitely worth waiting. It’s weird and awesome to find a korean fried chicken restaurant on 106th street. Their BEST thing though is the seafood pancake! It’s super crispy, and it’s gotten thicker since the last time we came. It comes with a yummy jalapeño soy sauce. Really good size and well priced. I love their pickled daikon radish, I always get extra!

Comparable to Bonchon and Kyochon, I was surprised to find a good KFC(Korean fried chicken) spot so close to Columbia! Given their hours and drink options, I’d say this is a good option for hanging out with friends at the end of the day/week. It’s kind of hard to anticipate when Koko is busy. I went there planning to take some food to-go one night and there was a 40 minute wait. The next time I went(on a Thursday night), we were one of only 3 groups there. So I guess you just have to kind of hope you’ll get lucky. KOREANFRIEDCHICKEN: The fried chicken is tasty and definitely filling. The perfect proportion of crispy skin to meat. I’d recommend going for lunch, when you can get 6 wings and a side for under $ 10(I believe around $ 8?). There’s also the option of getting drumsticks or a combination of the two. The only downside is you can’t mix and match flavors at lunch, but it’s not the end of the world. I highly recommend the soy garlic, which if you’ve had Korean fried chicken before is the standard, safe, and always-tasty option. The spicy wings were too spicy for me, but I’m a wimp, which means they’re probably fine for most people! SIDES: So far, the sides have been my favorite part. The sweet potatoes I got on my first visit were perfect in terms of texture: thin and crispy on the outside, soft and not too sweet on the inside. On my second visit I had the kimchi coleslaw, which is exactly what it sounds like and disturbingly addictive. GREENTEABEER: SOWEIRDLYGOOD! I’m not a big beer fan, but I love anything with green tea in it. I asked them how they made it and they explained that they a their house green tea syrup and Triple Sec! It’s a really light beer that’s kind of citrus-y(not sugary at all) and pairs perfectly with wings. Overall, I can see myself coming back here when I’m craving some fried food or Korean comfort food(they have lots of items other than wings, including ddeokbokki and japchae). It would also be a nice place to hang out and have a couple drinks after work or class. Happy to have found you, Koko!

It was a bit of trip getting here, but for my endless search for good Korean fried chicken, I decided to give Koko a shot. I can’t say my search is over, but Koko definitely was worth the trip. It’s a small restaurant, but spacious. The tables aren’t cramped together that you’re sitting shoulder to shoulder with other people. The server/host was friendly and efficient. Wings and drumstick(half hot and half soy): Many other korean wings/drumsticks I’ve seen are ridiculously tiny, but the size here was good. It was meaty, juicy and satisfying. The chicken was perfectly fried and crispy. The sauce was delicious. If you have low tolerance for spicy, then the hot and spicy sauce might be too much for you. Ddukbokki: I was a little bit skeptical about the fried calamari on top, but it was actually pretty good. It gave the dish some new texture and just paired nicely with the sauce. The rice cakes and fish cakes were cooked right, not too soft and mushy. The sauce was pretty spot on also with the seasoning/flavoring. Again for people with low tolerance for spicy, this might be too much for you. Overall, I really liked the food here, and would definitely make the relatively long trip for some good Korean boonshik/snack.
